(Bernama) - Taman Chi Liung Indah DAP branch chairman K. Yogasigamany, who has declined an offer to be appointed a Selayang Municipal Council (MBS) councillor, claimed that the appointment of local councillors by the PKR-led Selangor government was not conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

Yogasigamany, who had served as Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) councillor between July 2010 and February this year, said he was disappointed as he was not reappointed to the same post, but instead was offered to be MBS councillor for the March 2012/2013 term.

Unhappy with his exclusion from the MBSA, he claimed that the state executive councillor in charge of local councils, Ronnie Liu Tian Khiew, had amended the finalised list for the MBSA councillors endorsed by the Selangor DAP without consulting the state committee.

"If my name has been taken off the list by Ronnie Liu without the DAP state committee's knowledge, why has no action been taken against him?

"I was unceremoniously dumped although I was endorsed to be reappointed (as a Shah Alam councillor) for the current term by the Selangor DAP committee," he told a press conference at his office here today.
