Pahang religious department confirms that the PKR man and his partner were caught in a room at 3am by an enforcement team.

(Free Malaysia Today) - A senior PKR leader was caught by the Pahang Islamic Religious Department (Jaip) for allegedly committing khalwat (close proximity) with a married woman early this morning.

He was alleged to have committed the offence at a popular hotel in Balok, Kuantan. The PKR leadership is holding a retreat at the hotel since Friday.

Several PKR leaders contacted by FMT confirmed that Jaip had raided the hotel at about 2.30am this morning and had caught the leader committing the offence. Jaip is expected to charge him and the woman in the coming weeks.

The leader could not be contacted for comment. His handphone has been switched off since the news first broke in the cyberspace. He and the woman have been named in several blogsites and in the Facebook. She is believed to be from Rompin.

He had however sent SMSes to PKR leaders and supporters denying that he was caught for khalwat. He claimed that the woman had a family problem and sought his help.

He added that the woman’s husband had then arrived with some gangsters and accused him of hiding the wife.

“This is a case of a woman running away from her husband. They are going to get divorced. She had always wanted to run away from her husband. I advised them to return home. It’s a family problem…case settled,” he had said in his SMS.
