(The Malaysian Insider) - A pig’s head was found outside a mosque in Sentul here today, the second such incident this week after a similar discovery outside a Rawang mosque on Tuesday.

Batu MP Chua Tian Chang said the pig’s head, which was wrapped in a black plastic bag, was discovered outside the gates of Masjid Al-Hidayah at around 7.30am by mosque officials.

The PKR vice-president said he was told that mosque officials first noticed the bag at around 11 last night but the pig’s head was only discovered this morning when the bag was opened.

Police have taken away the pig’s head and are said to be investigating the matter.

Chua said he believed the act to be a “politically motivated provocation” calculated to create tension among Muslims and non-Muslims. He urged all parties to remain calm.

“We shouldn’t fall into the trap and, of course, everyone should condemn such an irresponsible act,” he told The Malaysian Insider.

On Tuesday, a pig’s head was found outside Masjid Nurul Iman at Batu 18, Rawang, reportedly the first such incident in the area.

It was discovered at 5.30am by a mosque official, who immediately contacted the police.
