Deputy police chief Khalid Abu Bakar says the identity of the main actor will be revealed if the need arises.
(Bernama) - The police will not hesitate to reveal the real identity of the “main actor” in a sex video, which showed a man looking like Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim having sexual intercourse with a woman believed to be a sex worker.
Deputy Inspector General of police Khalid Abu Bakar said investigation into the distribution of the sex video was still ongoing and “we would reveal whatever that needs to be revealed and whatever that does not need to be revealed would not be revealed.”
“For the police, we would investigate first and when the time comes the police will reveal who was the actor in the sex video.
“We are still investigating the case under Section 292 of the Penal Code,” he said. The section involves distribution of obscene material.
Asked why the Attorney-General’s Chambers had returned the police investigation papers to Bukit Aman, Khalid said that it was a normal procedure to ensure an air tight case.
“We completed the investigation papers and naturally it was sent to the A-G chambers. If the AG feels that there are some issues which need clarification, he would send it back to us.
“We follow whatever instructions given to us. This is a normal procedure and there is a possibility that we would hand over the investigation papers again to the chambers this week,” he said.
On March 21, the sex video was shown to selected journalists at Carcosa Seri Negara by a group of three Datuks who only wanted to be known as Datuk T at that point.
Recently, Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar announced that the video was genuine after it was inspected by local experts.

(1) Who is the girl? Have you identified her? She will definitely be able to identify the actual man given the penis size.
(2) Who took the video? Have you idenfied him/her? Isn't it a crime for shooting pornography?
(3) Police trying to be coy playing thief here. If it is Anwar, why not just reveal it and face the consequences of lawsuits which you need not worry since you have 100% proof.
(4) Do you not owe the duty to let the rakyat to know if it is Anwar, who is potentially a candidate for prime minister, so ppl can decide whether to continue to support him?
(5) If it is not him, shouldn't you declare it to exonerate him of any clouds of doubt ppl are having on him, since the media have painted him guilty since the emergence of the video?
