(The Star) - Umno can go ahead and contest in Chinese-majority seats in Penang in the next general election if it is so confident of winning, said Gerakan secretary-general Teng Chang Yeow.

“They can contest in the Chinese seats if they think they are capable."

“But would that be what we think Umno is capable of?” asked Teng during a press conference here yesterday.

He was commenting on a suggestion by Penang Umno chief Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi that Umno candidates should be fielded in more seats in Penang for the next general election.

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who is Defence Minister, said the suggestion was based on the results of the 2004 and 2008 general elections, when Umno chalked up more wins than the other Barisan Nasional component parties in the state.

Gerakan, which had led the state since 1969 was essentially wiped out in 2008, winning only three state seats and two parliamentary seats – none of which were in Penang. Umno currently has 11 seats in the state assembly.

Teng told Umno to stop pointing fingers over the loss of Penang to the Opposition and also advised Dr Zahid not to harp on the Barisan’s failure to retain Penang.

Aisehman - more and more skilled in saying 2 things at the same time. The Chinese have just been insulted for being chauvinistic and racist. On the other hand, I think PAS can safely contest in Chinese areas don't you think?

Guys, don't be too sure that UMNO cannot 'win' .... they will just call on their poodle in EC to work out some gerrymandering and a concentrated dose of postal votes may suddenly see the UMNO buggers squeezing past the post although the voters may be very sure that 9 out of 10 of them vote for the Pakatan.

Gerakan and AP. Gerakan and MCA.

Zahid Hamidi, belajar dari saya supaya awak boleh jadi pandai.

In the election prior to 2008 Penang Chinese voters were smart enough in not giving full support to DAP because if they returned all DAP candidates, Gerakan and MCA would be without representation and one which resulted in Umno claiming for Chief Ministership because DAP would not have sufficient seat to control the state government.

However, in 2008 the scenario changed, in that the Chinese voters were confident of PKR and Pas making inroads into Umno constituencies. So they kicked out Gerakan and AP.

Simple lesson bukan?

So PKR isn't the only one with component parties or in-house problems..If Gerakan and Umno as a upstart kind of feeling towards each other then why be in a coliation..and they arrogantly point to PKR for not coming together as one for the citizens..Same goes with MCA and MIC..pot calling the kettle black.!

Don't waste your time, even half a second, with people who are:-
1. Racist to the core
2. Corrupt ever since they know the value of money
3. Arrogant as if the whole world owns them a living
4.Insane
5.Mentally retarded
6. Of sub-intelligence level
Stay far far away from them & have no dealing with these people.

Tell me, which present umnoputra leader is an elected representative from an urban city constituency? All of them only dared to stand for election in rural areas where they can con the poorly educated rakyat (which they had purposely kept that way) into believing their spin and lies. They didn't even dared contest in KL and only using their MCA eunuch to do it. The eunuchs lost their shirts and if they had balls, that too. smilies/cheesy.gifsmilies/grin.gif

Hmm... interesting scenario!!
Ya, if the UMNOputras stake a claim on the seats in Penang lost by the mCA & Gerakan, perhaps these 2 parties should allow the UMNOputras to contest!!
Perhaps, then and only then, those bigoted racists will understand the rakyat's anger is with regards how they as the dominant party has failed the nation through their corrupt practices and nepotism!!
