PASIR PUTEH, Sept 4 — The Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee’s move to win the people’s support for the Barisan Nasional (BN) through teachers seems to be paying off.

District-level gatherings for teachers are seeing a good turnout, between 500 and 600 teachers at each session beginning with Tumpat, then Bachok and now Pasir Puteh, said its chairman, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.

“This is a good sign for a change in the political scenario in Kelantan,” he said when addressing one such gathering organised by the Pasir Puteh district education department at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tok Janggut here last night.

More than 500 teachers attended the gathering where Kelantan Education Director Hussain Awang was also present.

Mustapa, who is international trade and industry minister, said teachers had a major influence on the people and could draw their support for the BN in both the urban and rural areas.

If you are a teacher and you are "requested" by the education minister to go to a BN gathering, you will be crazy to not go and pretend to support the crooks, they would punish you by sending you to places really remote and cold storage you there for life.

Aha! No wonder lah. Umno has been gathering all these teachers and headmistresses together and bombard them with racist BTN propaganda. That explains the Johore and Kedah racist headmistresses. Looks like the next one will be in Kelantan. smilies/tongue.gif

UMNO is the king with the sewage touch. UMNO's touch corrupted judges and made them stink. UMNO's touch corrupted policemen and made them stink. UMNO's touch even corrupted anti-corruption officers and made them stink. Now UMNO wants to touch teachers.

btw don't ever let certain UMNO people touch your daughters.

Hahahaha syok sendiri kot, try tell them that it's not compulsory for them to go, then only evaluate! All these so called activities are actually forced on them by the school HM, removed that and you will see the real scenario. But then again, this is good news coz BN is desperately need of boost by whatever means coz they know they are losing more support each passing days.

An abuse of the law by a political party. The teachers should realised their calling and not be used by anyone for their agenda. If they see good they should recommend but if they saw wrongs they should also condemn. Then the student will learn to judge what is wrong and what is right and not blindly follows any teachings be it religious teachings or academic.
Sigh, what a weak and hopeless government we have. See for yourself. This is only my view.

When teachers attend meetings that promote racism, they go back to poison the hearts and minds of students who are Malaysia's next generation and hope for the future. Teachers are paid to teach and not to attend nonsensical political meetings. It is also a blatant misuse to hold political meetings in schools. School activities should be only to help and develop students. The State Education Director should be reprimanded and punished to allow political meetings to be held in schools.

Re" Mustapa, who is international trade and industry minister, said teachers had a major influence on the people and could draw their support for the BN "

Aren't you bringing the teachers profession in total disrepute?
Is that what you want PR to do once PR gets into government in the next GE?
Are you thinking from your backside?

If teachers want to be poltical, then they should resign and be full time candidate/poltician or (subject to codes/standards) canvass for support in their own free after hours time for either main party
