Former Perlis mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin said he will continue preaching and campaign to abolish the law that requires preachers to get certification from the state.

“Times have changed, if I cannot teach the usual way, I can go to the Internet or I can go to the newspapers,” said Asri, who was charged this morning in a syariah court for preaching without a permit.

“Whenever I have the chance to speak on Islam I will do so, if they stop me then maybe I won't mention the word Islam,” he said.

Earlier, he pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was charged under Section 119 of the Islamic Administration of Selangor which carries a fine of up to RM3,000 and imprisonment of up to two years.

“This will not stop me from delivering the message... they think this is a small matter, they think they can just stop people from teaching, but for me this case is very significant,” Asri told reporters outside the court.

I wonder how credible and good the pengarah is? Did he has the same credentials like Dr. Asri? If he doesn't, no wonder he's been a sour grape! Wooi Pengarah, pergi balik dan belajar dululah! smilies/grin.gif

Atsaari,,, I think I have a better proposition for Dr Arsssri, the preacherman.

If he really loves preaching, he should simply tell the AMNO regime....

tell them you change to other religion, say i recommend you join the MORMONs then you can preach all over the world...

will keep the AMNO tinggling.. haaaww haw haw haw...

Mr.Preacher Man,
I have listen and followed few other preachers before and most of them doesn't hold any tauliah, but no authorities 'kacau' them. Most of them are pious, cool and so serene in demeanour, not jumpy or controversial like you Mr preacher man...and we learn and understand a lot about Islam from them.
You know what is your problem Mr Preacher man...I don't know what is your agenda but I am convinced that you have hidden agendas. You are so political on the surface, jumpy and most of the time are so irrational and your behaviour does not reflect a true preacher. Your love to be in the NEWS make me look at you full with sceptical. Ask yourself again, is this what Allah demands out of his preacher of peace and serenity?

Er ..... just wondering......

Were the early traders/missionaries from India or the Arab peninsula who came over to the Malay Archipelago so many centuries ago, all certified back then? Now, I Didn't Know That ..... maybe Discovery Channel can make a documentary on that. smilies/wink.gif

We should all put our trust in God and ask Him for guidance.
We should not put our trust in any religious scholars or seek guidance by embracing a religion.
