It is clear that such reporting has the effect of creating religious disharmony, inciting hatred and heaping odium on Christians. We therefore call upon the authorities and the police to immediately make a thorough investigation of this matter to determine the source of these insidious, provocative and malicious lies and to take the necessary action against those who seek to threaten the multi-cultural and multi-religious harmonious make-up in this country.

A national Malay language daily, Utusan Malaysia on 7th May 2011 carried a report under the headlines “Malaysia negara Kristian?” (Malaysia, a Christian country?) where it was alleged that Christian leaders (paderi-paderi or priests/pastors) who at a closed door meeting in Penang had vowed to make Malaysia the official religion of Malaysia and to install a Christian as its Prime Minister. It was further reported that a meeting was to take place this evening at the Catholic Christian Centre (Pusat Kristian Katolik) in Penang and a public lecture will be organized tomorrow.

On behalf of the Catholic Bishops of Malaysia, I would like to categorically refute the allegation that such a meeting had taken place or will take place in a Catholic venue in Penang. It is clear that this reporting is baseless and highly irresponsible as the reporters and editors of the above newspaper have not taken any reasonable steps whatsoever to verify the allegations made by anonymous bloggers. Furthermore, this report comes after the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship (NECF), one of the organizers of the above meeting, having refuted the claims of those bloggers and the same was carried on online media. The NECF has further clarified that this meeting only covered the topic of ethical leadership and had no treasonous agenda as alleged by the bloggers and news report.

It is clear that such reporting has the effect of creating religious disharmony, inciting hatred and heaping odium on Christians. We therefore call upon the authorities and the police to immediately make a thorough investigation of this matter to determine the source of these insidious, provocative and malicious lies and to take the necessary action against those who seek to threaten the multi-cultural and multi-religious harmonious make-up in this country.

We, Christians constantly pray for good governance by political and civil authorities. We also teach our people to be God fearing, law abiding citizens and conscientious decision makers based on justice which is reflective of moral and divine laws. In the recent statements of the Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM) regarding the Al-Kitab issue, we had always reiterated our commitment and readiness to dialogue and work together with the government and all parties for a just and reasonable solution. It is clear that our position has never been treasonous nor have we advocated hatred, antagonism or animosity towards any religion or groups of persons.

I continue to call upon all Catholics, Christians and all Malaysians to pray, dialogue and work together to strengthen national unity and harmony. May God bless our leaders with a firm vision and the courage and strength to uphold and realise it.

If you have not seen or heard of a COWARD MUSLIM who encourages his UMNO members to tell lie after lie than you are seeing one. One Malaysia my arse. You have a leader who remains a coward to correct his people and allow blatant lying in ISLAM is what you see and what you get. It is a blatant lie that has to be continued to KILL ANWAR..AND IT DOES NOT MATTER IF A MUSLIM LIES.. for in UMNO lies after lies is being accepted by the Muslim population by these videos and SWEARING ON THE KORAN IN THE MOSQUE...to convince the jahil kampung folks that all that is said is true. And so Najib is using UTUSAN MELAYU TO continue to propogate lies..while smiling to the public and promoting his 1 Malaysia which is a total bullshit. If he really wanted 1Malaysia he will ensure that nothing comes in his way to see to this. Stories like this puts a big dent on his 1malaysia. I do not see Najib as an honest PM. He is abetting the lies of his people under UMNO. And as long as these lies goes on it is seen in the light of ISLAM PERMITS LYING..SWEARING AND ABUSING the Koran..This lie today that Christians want to take over Malaysia is a true lie because it is never possible looking at what is written in the constitution. So all this is a BIG LIE AND sadly it reflects the way Islam is being taught in malaysia...create chaos create trouble. first...while the Christians are always forgiving and want to negotiate peace first. It goes back to the root of Islam...violence is justified and peace is not an option unless all of the world is Islamised....( total bullshit..for even in the Muslim world..peace is not an option...as can be seen ..talibans killing other muslims, shites killing sunnis vice versa and it goes on...so I am beginning to believe that in Islam peace is IMPOSSIBLE..

How can they take actions against their own gang? The more likely scenario will be to ISA some Christians to show to the Malay Muslims that they are the champions of Malay rights. Their aim is to convince every single Malays that Christians are Powerful enemy and need all Malays to unite to fight the Holy war.

If PM Najib is serious to propel the 1Malaysia slogan and concept, he should immediately get all those in the editorial team to put them under ISA. Within a short period of time, Utusan has repeatedly create numerous uncalled for slanderous headlines in its publication.
Should no serious consequential actions taken by the PM or the Home ministry, this will definitely lead to the perception that Umno is using Utusan to achieve their ulterior motives. It looks like certain quarters within Umno is back stabbing and putting poison into the good works of our PM who is working hard to put 1Malaysia in place.
I call on all Malaysians to pray and protect our PM and do not let the evil satanic forces to create distrust and harmony in our beloved Malaysia.

We have got too many batu api's trying to stir racial tensions in this country and what are the authorities doing about it? None? Are they involved? The public perception is that if none is found responsible then these batu api's have got the sanction from the powers that be. Simple as that. Not surprise right? Is that 1Malaysia that we are propogating? God bless Malaysia for all the meaningless slogans.
