The BBC researches many different stories, it is the normal process of news and current affairs throughout the media that not all make it to air for a variety of editorial reasons.

In this case, it became clear in our research that any comprehensive interview with former Malaysia Today Editor Raja Petra Kamarudin would prominently feature issues that are currently the subject of a current court case in Malaysia, which raise issues of defamation.

The suggestion that the item was dropped due to political pressure is untrue. All BBC programmes adhere to the same strict editorial guidelines which ensure complete editorial independence and impartiality.

I am intrigued, indeed. Let's have a hardtalk and bare the facts, BBC. As journalists, we know how to tread issues so as not to invite defamation.

But to back off cowardly? You're a disgrace to the profession. Period.

Oh My BBC , have you been wagging the the dog to stay afloat????
The logical fallacy committed by you ends any discussion as you have just proved that you are a moron incapable of independent opinion or discourse on the subject. We all know now BBC is an inborn idiot!!!

//"""Investigative report: The Kremlin Killings.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-456229/Investigative-report-The-Kremlin-Killings.html
2)In Moldova, investigative journalists shed light on injustice
In the Eastern European Republic of Moldova, long considered one of the worst oppressors of press freedom, investigative reporters are exposing corruption, organized crime, poverty, social injustice and human rights violationshttp://www.ijnet.org/ijnet/training_opportunities/ in_moldova_investigative_journalists_shed_light_on_inju
stice.

""We follow trainings on investigative journalism abroad. We cooperate with Romanian media and with some journalists from Balkan countries. I personally did stories together with journalists from BBC, Danishdoc, DN and ZDF""

.ETC ETC ETC
BBC pl!! ---Have all these been said to Wag the dog??? Sorry to touch on your Oxford prose----To 'wag the dog' means to purposely divert attention . --and if you have forgotten the movie version of your current stance, let me recap.
""
In the 1998 movie Wag the Dog, White House spin-master Conrad Brean seeks to deflect public attention from a brewing scandal over an alleged sexual encounter in the White House between the president and an all-too-young Girl Scout-type by concocting an international crisis. Advised by a Hollywood producer (played with delicious perversity by Dustin Hoffman), Brean "leaks" a fraudulent report that Albania has acquired a suitcase-sized nuclear device and is seeking to smuggle it into the United States. This obviously justifies an attention-diverting military reprisal. The press falls for the false report (sound familiar?) and all discussion of the president's sex scandal disappears from view -- or, as Brean would have it, the "tail" of manufactured crisis wags the "dog" of national politics. I visited Fatimah's facebook page and she now admits she made a mistake about the interview but defend the part about Malaysian Government pressuring BBC to drop the interview.
Link : http://www.bbc.co.uk/programme...ing?page=1

She blame readers for no understanding her article as it not about the Hardtalk interview but rather BBC being threatened. Typical UMNO mentality (perhaps a product of NEP)..... to accuse a person with theft of chicken but charge with theft of duck, to investigate seditious remarks but charge a person voicing racism with sedition, to prosecute individuals exposing corruption instead of the guilty, an individual was flung out of a high rise building but claim it was suicide....sial betul !!!!

With this press statement, the BBC has proven beyond reasonable doubt they are a Bunch of Bumbling Chickenshit unless they can prove otherwise and run the interview as planned. Be Brave Chiquita.

The British broadcaster explains that the axing of HARDtalk's interview with blogger RPK was to avoid contempt of court, not because it was strong-armed by the Malaysian government.

Orang Umno, I speaky no Inglish, sahaja yang tak faham bahasa Mat Salleh diatas. Itu le koma orang Umno, .... suruh pergi sekolah ... degil! Suruh pergi gantung bendera Umno, .... nah! berkobar-kobar, mengelupor, macam beruk dapat pisang.

Many of his writings are on the wall but no body wants to admit it is true lah. MUch of what RPK writes can be trace back to BN/UMNO goon related news.. This only means BAD news.

BCC has in recent years lost it's reputation and credibility as far as I am concerned. Remember some time back some BBC guys were caught rigging the survey on the popularity of their program production and misleading the UK public if not the world?

These are the kind of people in the present generation who will do what is necessary to be popular to the extent of compromising on ethics, standards and morality. As a kid, I always trusted the BBC with my transistor radio. Their news WAS ALWAYS right, fair, unbiased and impartial and they never kowtow to anyone or any government at home or abroad. But that generation of PROFESSIONAL reporters are now gone or few and far between. Howver, I would always trust ALLAN GARTNER who nearly lost his live while reporting in Iraq cos he is fair, fearless and a real pro. As for the BBC as an organisation, well it is slightly better than RTM and DEFINITELY inferior to RPK and MAlaysia Today!

This is what fatimah Zuhri wrote,
"Guys/gals, please listen. Raja Petra was NEVER invited nor was he ever scheduled to be interviewed by the BBC. It was all a LIE. None of the 5 current producers of BBC Hardtalk ever invited Petra before to be on the programme. Yes, Anwar's Pakistani boys did managed to persuade The Guardian to do a piece on Petra about a couple of weeks back but there has not been very much success with the other media (printed or electronic) in UK.

Now compare this with the above statement, is there any denial from the BBC that they never invited RPK in the first place? Sounds like they did call him and then decided to call if off later on. For what reason? Defamation and possibility of being dragged to court! Isn't that politically pressure?
...

You probably stopped laughing now as you yourself have become the laughing stock for lying!

Just like BN/UMNO, you lie all the time cos somebody paid you to do so? It's to your benefit? It's your way of life.. lying thru your teeth to become famous (or infamous), lying to ingratiate yourself to your political masters? Wake up.. you are being used!! LIAR, LIAR, LIAR
