With people leaving, funds and factories moving out, shops closed and supermarkets half as crowded, there will be no need of growing vegetables in Cameron Highlands, or rearing pigs at Paya Mengkuang...

By TAY TIAN YAN/Translated by DOMINIC LOH/Sin Chew Daily

The foreign ministry's statistics couldn't be wrong. The outflow of Malaysians in massive quantities has become a very real phenomenon.

Little wonder that Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia stand out aloft when their peers are bleeding profusely because of the economic downturn.

Other than those on business and vacation trips, migrants are beginning to matter in the carriers' clientele profiles.

If things were to go down the same trend, we have no reason to worry about overpopulation. We can always transfer our population problems to other countries, and let them bear the consequences of snatching our talents.

Ten years on, we won't have the need for more Chinese primary schools. The little kids will travel with their parents abroad, while the school boards, principals and teachers have to fight for student enrolments, begging parents door-to-door to send their children to their schools while offering free textbooks, uniforms, schoolbus rides, and even the latest smartphones in exchange for willingness to send their children there.

If a 6-year contract is signed, air tickets for migration will also be given away free of charge after the kids turn 18.

MCA will no longer have to worry about any more infighting. Its members are scattered across the globe, and will very soon open branches in Sydney, Dongguan, Jakarta, Vancouver, Hong Kong (Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories branches) and Singapore (from Woodlands all the way to Sentosa), and has good potentials of overtaking the ruling People's Action Party to become the biggest political party in the island republic.

With people leaving, we will then have an oversupply of residential units. Selling prices for top-notched luxurious condos in KL's Golden Triangle will slide from RM1,000 psf to RM500, while double-storey terraced houses in PJ go for RM250k each, down from half a million. Cheap houses are everywhere, and you can have as much built-up as you wish.

Another thing, with vehicles dwindling in numbers, our air will be a whole lot more pristine. The pollution issue will be a thing of the past. We also no longer need to worry about things like temples and churches, as well as racial issues.

Malaysia will be one of the most liveable places on this planet.

Of course, we can predict the country's future from a more orthodox perspective.

With people leaving, funds and factories moving out, shops closed and supermarkets half as crowded, there will be no need of growing vegetables in Cameron Highlands, or rearing pigs at Paya Mengkuang...

That reminds me of an African state called Zimbabwe. 30 years ago, the country--then called Rhodesia--was governed by a group of elite whites.

Black leader Robert Mugabe staged a revolt and successfully toppled the white administration, returning the sovereignty to the blacks once again.

Such a development was in completely conformity to the rules of democracy, and was absolutely correct, politically.

In a country where the blacks constitute the majority of local population, the whites simply should not take control of the helm.

But the problem was: after Mugabe took over the country, he implemented populist policies, marginalising the white residents and resorting to all sorts of means to usurp the social resources and completely sideline the whites.

The whites, who lost their mines and farm, shops and lands, had to pack up and leave the country in droves.

The Zimbabwean ecomomy collapsed and inflation rates soared as high as 230,000,000%, with unemployment at a mind-boggling 80%.

The country was in tatters, with severe political turmoil and widespread systemic corruption. Public hygiene was in an appalling state, with average lifespan down to 37 years and 40% of all adult citizens infected with AIDS.

Redistribution took the place of fair competition; assistance of meritocracy; and privileges of equality.

The eventuality of populist and racist politics is going down the Zimbabwe way.

The currency may gonna suffer a bit since the professionals and high-incomer pay their taxes elsewhere.

Aiyo! It's okay la. The new Malays will inundate this place in flocks. Those from Bangladesh, Nepal, and Indonesia will come and make the street cleaner, the buildings off the grime. The influx would neutralise the brain drain while still keeping the balance in check. And who knows? They may do a better cleaning job on the C4 traces for Najib.

By Allah! I will not give up the struggle to UN-seat UMNO/BN but the racism spewed on our (RAKYAT) blog "here", frightens me. Seriously! It tells me that racist are fighting to get the better of each other.
TAY TIAN YAN DOMINIC LOH @ Sin Chew Daily congratulation! you have successfully conjured up a level of bigotry it leaves me to wonder of the morality gone amiss. All I see now is racial polarization which evidently the result will be UMNO/BN retains power. I could not hurt this struggle therefore I'll hold my piece (peace). I'd wait for the ballot day Insha Allah.

Quite interesting to see the comparables between DrM and DrMugabe and their respective leadership outcomes.

At the end of the day, one should not confuse the righteousness of mandate and legitimacy, versus the failings in execution and strategy.
But it must be agreed that both had momentous challenges - how to uplift the socio-economic status of the majority populations.

And we as hopefully informed citizens, should challenge execution strategies, policies, and rules that can not deliver, or only delivers rewards for the privileged - our failure to do exactly that is what has led to our shortchanged conditions, and the pains that our peoples now bear.
(yes - you , your family, your relatives - are all accountable)

We not not believe it but we are beginning to look like the Philippines. Our people are not only migrating permanently. Many are also going overseas to seek better paying jobs. And all those who left are repatriating money home, like the Chinese here used to send to their families in China and like what many Filipinos, Indonesians, Bangladeshis are doing. So what does that say about our country? We are turning into a basket case. All thanks to Umno and their stooges who ruin it for us all.

Hey this is the same populist type of policies this country is having, why do you thing "Be End" continues to be the government after 50 years of taking over from the whites. Good thing we have Petronas to back up our ringgit so we will have some time left before we get compared to Zimbabwe but I guess it won't be long because inflation & prices are going to hit the roof soon with GST and even rumours of petrol prices going up sometime next year....

Malaysia needs the Chinese to stay, to pay taxes so that the Malaysian Govt can pay for the NEP, govt servants salary, special UMNO benifits, etc and Mega projects for Mega corruptions etc.

An exit permit must be enforced to stop these valuable tax payers from leaving Malaysia .

The situation is extremely serious.!!!

If another 1-2 million non bumi professionals and entrepreuners pack their bags and go, the government will stand to lose RM 50 billions a year in the future. (Two millions had left and are now paying RM 75 billions taxes to other Govts.)

If the golden goose Petronas ran 3/4 empty and with a reduction of its contribution by RM 30 billions a year, the Govt will have RM 70 billion less to spend to satisfy its NEP and UMNO cronies red packages. This is more than 50% of the national expenditure budget.

The reason TDM stepped down was that there were a shortfall of RM75 billions in the Govt tax collection due to the migration of 1 to 2 million tax payers to other countries at that period!

Hence not enough money for him, TDM and his c***ks to spend and steal on his pet mega projects! And he wanted to have a scapegoat (Palah) in place, to take the blame for bankrupting the country after the Crooked Bridge!!!

Now if these potential outgoing Malaysian Chinese migrants have and average EPF amount of RM100,000 then EPF will "lose" another RM200 billions on top of the previous RM200 Billions withdrawn by those already migrated!!

What a financial crisis the Malaysian Govt would be in!! Without any money to pay for the NEP and Malay supremacy UMNO will no longer be SUPREME!!

Malays are obsessed with bumiputra issue. They try to influence other natives all over the world with their bumiputra idea.. The mad mahathir many times criticised Australia for treatment of Abo, American s for treating their red indians, warned the Native Fuijian about Indians, put 2x central pages in umno controlled newspapers . No malays have the right to speak about indigenious rights outside malaysia(including zimbabwe) as long as the concept of bumiputra right is still practised in malaysia.

When the demographic changes the likely scenario ,yes! When it hits 90% ,the in-fighting may no longer be one"s faith as the instigating issue,it would be "race". Because the UMNOputra politicians would never sincerely unite the nation as Malaysians. It is not in their interest as it would curb theft of tax payer monies.
The guy responsible ,in part ,for ruining Zimbabwe is none other the recalcitrant Dr. M ,the voluntary adviser to another despot Dr.Mugube . Dr.Mugube would have succeeded in maintaining and improving the "the food basket" of Africa ,had he implemented and acted like our first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman. Tunku was farsighted: preferred a gradual take over; train and prepare the nations best to slowly take over from the colonialist .Tunku and leaders around him then, had a lot of wisdom:they knew they lacked a lot of the expertise needed for a sweeping take over. Imagine for one moment if we had Dr.Mahathir then? This bugger would have behaved no different from Dr,Mugube. Would have ruined Malaya. Thank God ! it was Tunku ,and not a deep hatred permeated tyrant ,the low life Dr.M

The whites, who lost their what?
The eventuality of populist and racist politics is going down the Zimbabwe way.
The Whites held 73% of the country's arable and fertile agricultural land and indigenous black people work for breadcrumbs while white folks holding dual citizenship with daily dose of Gin & Tonic lauded at their swim-pools. They reneged on the Lancaster house agreement which brought the war to an end. One of those agreed to, was the transfer of land back to native Zimbabweans. The Europeans took the land from Africans through violent brutal force.
For 20 years Zimbabwean agro-business was conducted in England. Not even the Zimbabwean Gomen could have decided the rate of tax, the price or to whom it could sell its food to. Zimbabwe had to buy food and other (most) of its agri-produce on the London Stock Exchange FTSE.
Stop ridiculing Africans while claim to be fighting Malay racism here at home. What is it with we Asians: Our racism is more acceptable than the racism where we are discriminated by?
Zimbabweans fought a bloody and costly war of not only Independence but Liberation from Racist occupation.
It hurts to see and hear Malaysians cast their ignoramus views on Africa simply to drive fear of what are completely different set of circumstances and historical facts.
I am a Malay and if what UMNO claims to be Zimbabwean and had a thread of truth, then I'd fight tooth and nail to uproot any remnant of colonialist from our soil. That's not the case, however these stupid and utterly uninformed opinions will only shatter the unity needed to unseat our corrupt and bungling Gomen.
Zimbabwe's inflation was as a result of a sacrifice delayed: the white man should have been made to pack up and leave without the moratorium that probably saved lots of white occupiers lives 20 odd years ago.
You have any idea how the orang Asli feel to know that they are at the bottom of the Malaysia ladder?
You trivialize peoples struggle and sacrifices merely because the west fed you a demonised version adding insult to injury you propagate it as some scholarly piece.
For the benifit of the doubt, I'd say; you're inadvertently sounding the West to hammer and cripple our economy so "we" can all become bumis (Elites) too? because that's what they attempted in Zimbabwe.
For your information TAY TIAN YAN , the Zimbabwean economy grew 7% in the last 1/4 of 09` and Tobacco is no longer its choice (only) product- by the way, China is making a "mutual" killing and both countries are prospering tremendously.
No wonder China is kicking Malaysian business (PETRONAS) out of Africa, the myopia of Western racism have permeate our thought pattern so much that we abhor racism even as we practice it.
We have enough ammunition to throw at UMNO and win over the crucial support needed to un-seat them save the fear mongering which is counterproductive not to mention dishonest. Leave the Africans alone! some day we will need them just as China and the rest of the world.

Look at the difference between South Africa and Zimbabwe. South Africa has embraced democracy totally while maintaining equality, justice and meritocracy, while Zimbabwe has embarked upon a route of "elitism" with the Mugabe cronies plundering all that the country has, while oppressing all the blacks in Zimbabwe who were either not educated or lowly so. The same way the UMNOputras are doing to their own Malays, and where Mugabe has used the whites as bogeyman to rally votes from the poor ignorant blacks, the UMNOputras are doing the same using the Chinese as the bogeyman and rallying Malay votes by so doing.

Unfortunately for both the Mugabians and UMNOputras, the blacks and Malays are waking up to the fact that they have been misled, lied to, made use of, and sucked dry, and are starting to show some smarts while voting ! There is hope yet for Malaysia. Let us work hard at VOTING OUT Barisan Najis, and VOTING IN PAKATAN RAKYAT !!

MR TAN TIAN TUNG... I TOTALLY BEG TO DEFER.... a little bit...

Malaysia will never go down in population...

For every educated malay who leaves malaysia to live in England, australia or US, MR KHINZIR TOYOL will just bring in another 10 Indons to replace him.

For every rich educated Indian who leaves malaysia... the rascist Ahmad Ismail and Dr Zambry will simply fukk some more to produce 10 mamak babies..

For every chinese who migrate abroad, well, i dont know, maybe a few poor vietnamese and southern thai will replace them, running away from the non stop violence in south thailand.

In Sabah, its a different story... For every sabahans who migrate abroad, the following politicians will do this.

Sakaran and his generations will bring 100 more suluks, tausugs and bolongingis to replace them
Musa aman brings more pushtunis in,
Harris salleh brings 10 moslem pakistanis ini,
Sairin Karno brings more of his relatives from Indon
Dr Pataware brings 10 more of his suluk bajaus from the abu sayap community.

at the end of the day, the whole of malaysia will be exactly like the corrupted country of Polipins and Indon... NO DOUBT ABOUT IT...

maybe Malaysia will form a new country with polipin and indon... what would be the new name for this country? MAPHILINDO.

AND THIS will be a country where on every election, there will be political masacre no different from the Mafia gun battle..... wooooooo....

That will never happen. We are talking Malaysia. The country that give the world Proton, Malaysia Airline, Nasi Lemak, twin tower and etc etc. To all Malaysians especially the Malays stand up be counted. The West think they can push Malaysia around. Zimbabwe may be poor but they are happy. They may have AIDS but happy. Zimbabwians are happier than a Rhodesians that's matters. This is a very sad and true prophecy. Chinese/ Indians will be replaced by Africans, Bangladesh and otherAsian natives. Those poorer chinese/Indians who cant leave will gradullay vanishing due to deceased birth rates. Then the ultimate dream of pure tanah melayus will come true, free from menacing chinese/ indians.Malaysia will then sink into Zimbabwe of Asia. When it happens, Singapore will be panicking, because tanah melayu will 'Sadamise' singapore, and possibly Patani..

EK Tan,
Correction, mate: Thailand is doing fine, so are Vietnam and Indonesia and Cambodia is so-so. All these countries are going up, Malaysia is going down heading in the direction of Zimbabwe. Singapore is in a different league altogether.

The financially sound and talented Malaysians are leaving the country. Oil is running out and the economy has stagnated for the past decade. The signs on the horizon read "doom".

An economic observer said Malaysia would be exporting maids and manual labour in 10 years' time. I agree with him.

No worries.

Perhaps in 2012, Malaysia will the one of the largest export of domestic maids to Asean countries, working for Malaysians working abroad, coz of the no-English-skill, fighting with the Indonesians and Bangladeshis. The Bumiputera will enjoy top status as top race to qualify as blue-collar foreign maids.

I hope bumiputeras will thank UMNO for their bright future and their children's future. At least bumniputeras are top at SOMETHING.

Imagine the Ketuanan Melayu working for the China-apek or the Banggali's. HAHAHAHAHA!
