By Zaid Ibrahim
I wish to announce my withdrawal as a candidate from the contest of Deputy President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat and my resignation from all posts held in the party.
I was offered to join this party under the belief that I could promote enlightened and progressive politics; nurture and develop principled political values and culture that I consider indispensable to the development of democracy and good governance in this country. I was mistaken.
Over the course of the party elections, events have shown that the leadership actively condones malpractices and electoral fraud to achieve its designed objectives. I am certain that any political party with such hypocritical and false values will not be able to offer meaningful reforms to the people of this country.
I have made this decision because there is no attempt on the part of the party leadership to address the various issues of manipulation and unfair electoral practices, although these issues were raised repeatedly.
I wish to thank all the members who have supported me and placed their faith in the cause of reform. It is of utmost disappointment that I am unable to continue in this flawed election process. I remain committed to the Opposition’s cause and will continue to speak about the issues of the common people. Together, we will continue our unabated struggle towards a better government for the people.

PKR looks less threatening now and soon may become a toothless tiger then may forgotten in history like Kuli's Semangat 46.
True, maybe there cannot be 2 lions is a lair. Both lions roar and the pack confused.
But what happen if DSAI is found guilty and jailed (very likely)? will the other lion come back? Who will take over the helm? Azmin? He does not have the calibre or ability. Then truly PKR will become just another name in history...the one who was 'almost' there then crumbled from within like a lego structure.
Well, we'll see...who knows there might be some hope...sigh!!
Again, Najis and Rosemak must be rolling on the ground laughing right now...who can blame them.

1. You were mistaken when you help TDM during the de-registration of DumnoS
2. You were mistaken when you became defacto law minister under Paklah
3. Now you are mistaken for helping PKR (ex-BN bandits party)
4. Hey, RPK told you so..... you are not suitable to PKR
Are you gonna say you were mistaken whenever you do something that doesn't work out?
Please lah, how many mistakes you gonna make? Main main kah? The country and peoples are at stake.

I reckon Azmin is a consummate politician, and whatever he does he has his best in mind; not me, not you and certainly not the suffering populace of this country. What achievement has he to offer? Absolutely nothing, nada, ziltch, zero. Has he fight the good fight? Nope. Apart from being more than a yes man to PKR supremo Anwar. Reports have shown that he has made life difficult for the PKR Selangor MB. He has played politics ala UMNO style in PKR and it has often leave a bad taste in the rakyat mouth.
If this is going to be the government in waiting and the PM in waiting, I reckon we'd be much better leaving this fcuked up country. It's more to do with progressives and centrists and Zaid is seen as a much more uniting figure and a progressive than Azmin.
I reckon PR's march to Putrajaya is doomed even before it started. PKR is no doubt the worst and weakest link in PR.

You are not alone, there are many who want you to stay on the side of justice and you are needed. I am sure you understand what I am talking about from the start.
Cool and cheers.

Say what you like on the implications on this withdrawal but one thing that I noticed is that PKR have just lost a bright spark that could have won the hearts and trusts from a lot of discerning people. BN and especially Najib/Rosmah are laughing their way to PUTRA JAYA again come next GE.
Adios Amigo my friends!!!!!

It is what you say about the withdrawal publicly that reflect on you as an ex contestant, your peers opinion of you from the united PKR party angle, and your suitability for the second bite of the cherry next time round.
Get elected as an MP first. PKR could do with your expertise and opinions but they must be on PKR terms. You still have a large role to play in the opposition camp. Please dont burn that bridge. The less said by all, the better.
Now, we just have to close ranks and stand behind Azmin, irrespective of the votes that the members have given to the deputy, as we would have urged to have closed rank behind Zaid i he had took the chequered flag honors.
Can we end this slow-motion dieect election movie now?
Our 2 litre pop corn is already half-way through the stomach and intestines, the few pow.satay sticks are finished, and the 1 litre coke cup refill are gone too. Can we get out of the exit door to head to the nearest pub for some cold refuge?

Anwar , one of the bright sparks in PKR is now gone.
The people want change. They want BN OUT. However, it looks like they do not really have a viable alternative. Your have a golden oppurtunity but your own greedy people will now destroy PKR.
