According to 2012 development expenditure budget, the Prime Minister Department is allocated the greatest development budget at RM7.8 billion (15.2%) of total budget. Next come Rural and Regional Development (RM7.1 billion). One wonders why the 1 man department is allocated more than 4 times over the development budget of the health ministry (allocated RM1.8 billion).

Najib menyeru kaum India supaya mempercayai beliau dalam usaha memperbaiki kehidupan kaum India dan memberikan beliau sokongan dalam pilihanraya yang akan datang. “Tuan-tuan tolong saya, saya akan tolong tuan-tuan” kata Najib lantang dan jelas.

ABU slogan which is significantly used as a rallying cry by Third Force Politicians and NGO’s is catching on in Sarawak. ABU-Asalkan Bukan Umno (Anyone But Umno) is nothing new as its main objective is to unite the rakyat to fight against Umno.

In 2008 former PM Mahathir used it as a platform to achieve his goal as singled out by this blog,”Dr Mahathir was quoted as saying “vote anyone but Umno” when he met the Chinese association leaders and told them to support the opposition, especially in Penang, then prime minister Tun Abdullah Badawi’s home state, resulting in the opposition taking over that state.

Terdapat desas desus bahawa tatkala 1CareMalaysia diperkenalkan, gaji semua rakyat akan dipotong 10% sebagai caruman wajib ke dana 1Care Malaysia.

Let’s for a moment imagine what our pocket will look like.

Embracing Globalization

I totally disagree with your characterization of globalization as a vehicle for Western hegemony or that it would destroy our way of life. We are more likely to maintain and indeed enhance our culture and heritage if we are successful economically. If we were to be marginalized economically, our culture and language too would suffer the same fate. If we do not climb on the globalization train now we will be left far behind. Individually, we are more likely to be tolerant and altruistic when we are prosperous and affluent than if we are poor and struggling. This applies to government as well.
