Entrepreneur Development and the Taxi Conundrum

Friday, 30 July 2010

The government over the years have issued thousands upon thousands of taxi permits both to individuals and to certain corporations who, despite their insistence of independence, are allegedly politically linked to certain leaders and individuals in or close to the administration. If the government issues 2,000 permits per year for the last 10 years, we have at present, a total of 20,000 taxi permits in the Klang Valley, all of which we believe or are led to believe are being utilised.

Thursday, 29 July 2010

By Clara Chooi, The Malaysian Insider

“If he still has some moral values with him and before more damage is done to our beloved state, Zambry should resign and dissolve the assembly,” he said in a statement.

The Pantai Remis assemblyman added that if the assembly approved the supplementary supply bill for RM80 million, Perak’s deficit would reach 14.2 per cent of its budget, which is three times worse than the federal government’s 5.6 per cent and 4.3 times worse than the 3.3 per cent international benchmark fixed by the European Union for sustainable development.

Malaysia in the Era of Globalization #25

Thursday, 29 July 2010
A 1937 constitutional referendum reaffirmed the supremacy of the Church.  Among its provisions was making blasphemy a crime.  (Three quarters of a century later in Malaysia, PAS is considering a similar archaic legislation!)  The Catholic Church in Ireland may have become stronger and richer because of its “special” position, but the Irish continued with their worldly misery.

"With this democracy, we would empower the people, strengthen the economy and boost the confidence of the world in our country. Believe me, if this happens we would be better and far richer than Singapore.

Round Eight: How BSA Tahir was delivered into the hands of the SB, CIA and MI6 (UPDATED with Chinese Translation)

Wednesday, 28 July 2010

This is probably the best part of BSA Tahir’s testimony to the Home Ministry. He relates how he was tricked into coming back to Malaysia and how Kamal Abdullah and Shah Hakim delivered him into the hands of the Malaysian Special Branch, CIA and MI6. He was then told to ‘accept lah’ whatever happens to him. It was not enough, however, that they detain him under the ISA to keep him quiet. He was not detained in Kamunting where he would come into contact with other ISA detainees. He was hidden in a secret location where no one could get to him.

Teachers and politics

Thursday, 29 July 2010

By Thomas Lee Seng Hock, MySinchew

Within the school classroom situation, a politically partisan teacher may manipulate the young innocent children into believing that his rival political parties are demonic and that the children should tell their parents about it.
