Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah is concerned that even Malays are getting disillusioned with the state of the nation and leaving the country.

“Something must be wrong in this so-called Malay Land (Tanah Melayu) when they (Malays) are leaving.” said the Kelantan prince during an interview with The Malaysian Insider.

The Umno veteran and Gua Musang MP said people, especially the young, are feeling uneasy over developments in the country and didn’t mince his words when he pointed out that there are signs of decline everywhere.

“There are many Malays in London who are professionals, making good money, who will not return because the environment is not right in Malaysia.”

He added that the negative publicity generated by the caning of three Muslim women and controversy surrounding the use of the word “Allah” is not helping the country.

While the caning may have been in accordance to Syariah laws, Razaleigh said it still negatively impacts the country when it makes headlines around the world for the wrong reasons.

“Investors and tourists are wondering what’s happening in Malaysia, at a time when we need investments, capital and jobs for our young who are also increasingly finding it difficult...”

He said even the non-Muslims are being hauled up for holding hands and cited a case where Islamic authorities barged into a room where a foreign couple was staying.

Razaleigh also decried that race relations are getting increasingly strained because of divisive policies.

He said the government can stage as many open houses as they like but there’s no warmth.

“Of course people will come if there’s free food but it’s not genuine.”

The real Malays are leaving Malaysia because they found out ( though about 30 years late ) that they've have been marginalized by the "imported" Banglas, Indons, southern Filipinos claiming to be Malays!
If one goes to KL areas:- Kota Raya, Chow Kit, Petaling street, etc.to you'll know what I mean. Take a closer look at those legalized demonstrators led by KJ. How many real Malays do you see in the crowd? Even my Malay and/or Muslim friends have difficulty in findly a simple Malay restaurant to enjoy our food....

In Perth and Mandurah (south of Perth) there is a big Malay community. The Malaysians fondly name it Kampong Melayu. Bodowi owns a multi million house in an exclusive suburb in Perth.

Ehhhh its not Tanah Melayu anymore, The reason Barisan Najis leaders are all super super rich is by making sure only they the selected few get ALL the $$ that was supposed to be the benefit of the rest of malaysian. They use the Malay name only to make themselves rich. I still don't understand how Malays especially rural villagers still feel proud to see a handful of Barisan Najis who claimed to be Malays to be super rich when they suffer in poverty. Sad really.

Those Malays that migrated are the educated ones who see the light. Barisan Najis is swindling the people's money. Barisan Najis dont really care anyway because the less educated Malays in Malaysia, the less threat to them making themselves rich.

Tengku..... another reasons why top professional men and women amongst the moolayu wants to migrate out of Moolayuland is to enter into mixed marriages where the non moslem spouse does not have to convert if they stay in foreign countries.. UNLIKe the rules of taleban malazut.

SO YOU TENGKU OUTDATE SHOUD JOIN PKR IF YOU wish not to continue being outdated.

Dear Ku Li

I think Malaysia future is the most important agenda for any Malaysian that cares. It is above any political party and the only way to bring BN/UMNO down is to tear apart the root of the issue. UMNO is the issue here and you are smart enough to know only rakyat can bring it down and not even PR. You need to lead rakyat to give PR a chance by joining any of the PR party to make this fight of success to more than 50%. God Bless you and hope you make a right decision in the near future.

My only prayer is for mamak to burn in hell for all the misfortune he brought to the beautiful country of ours,. This celop melayu who is really indian from kerela in India is ashamad of admitting that indian blood runs in his veins. How could you deny yr ancestory. Shame on you you traitor

Razaleigh, you must be the most honest and pragmatic human being in UMNO !!!!!
No UMNO member has the guts to speak so frankly like you !!!!!!!!!
They are only interested to be nominated and win elections so that they can become a wakil rakyat and thats the time and opportunity for them to sharpen their knives and rob as much as they can in their privileged positions.
They have no other motives for being in UMNO. All they want is easy money and take advantage of the poor voters who had voted them in in every election time.
Take the case of Ahmad Ismail from Penang or Toyo from Selangor.!!!!
Ahmad in UMNO because thats the place he can get contracts without any efforts. And then he will sub contract to his cronies to do the jobs for him
Toyo has taken full advantage of his position as MB and has built castles in a kampong.
What a shame and such lowly mentality of Toyo to have built such a castle in a backwater kampong to show off to his kind!!!!! He thought it was great that he is superior to his kind, according to his mentality reckoning.

Well, it was unfortunate that we did not have you as our Prime Minister instead of the Mamak Tun.

If you speak from your heart, I believe under your Administration, Malaysians will be more united.

Now there are more to do than before especially after the Mamak Tun has successful implemented the BTN to divide Malaysians. But it is important to note that Mamak Tun did not only divide. He managed to unite two races into one i.e. Mamak + Malay = Bumiputra.

Now we need divine intervention before it is too late. And for Malaysians, you have to do your part to when come next election.

It would not be too distant a future when the petro-dollars fizzle out. Then what?
For those who are rent-seekers devoid of fishing and hunting skills, it would be Armageddon.
Be cautioned. The days when Malaysian girls are slogging as maids in Indonesia, and our young men crowding the sweet-shops in Bangladesh, may just be a reality soon.

Can some one gives us the figures? How many Malays have moved overseas and how many did not want to come back?
Is it live is better over there,? More freedom perhaps. Breaking every Islamic syariah laws as they want to?
And those migrating out . Are they bringing their 'dirty' money or 'easy' money and enjoy the pleasure that it brings? Again free to break all the syariah laws overseas.

All because the Umno government screwed up everything trying to be a hero to the Malays, Muslims and the rulers. Wake up Malaysians - Vote in a new government.

Kuku Li,
Let's be a bit more honest. The Malays that are now or recently leaving Malaysia are more likely thieves going away with their loot while the their pirate ship sinks.
The capable Malays with pride over their own abilities have been moving around the world all the time as they know it enriches their life and they can survive anywhere on their own anytime.

I have just returned from Dubai from the exhibition there. Most of the young Malay professionals are fed up with UMNO and say so, in no uncertain terms, to even non-Malays. UMNO will lose the next elections because its arrogant attidude is making the Malays angry. They are not stupid to be misled by the childish racist propanda of UMNO because in business, they work with all races on business, not racist, principles. But then UMNO will start a riot by using a few Mat rempits to kill a few Chinese and Indians to justify emergency rule. The military may take over after that as it has no confidence in the UMNO leaders. Malaysia will follow Indonesia, Myanmar and Thailand in having military rulers. This country is gone already as we can see the writings on the wall.

Kuli, for the love of the Country, please go to the ground and all umno strongholds and say this out loud. you know umno have screwed everybody here and how they twist and turn about the oil royalty.

Do it in the Parliament and the PWTC, then go round the whole of Malaysia say it to the Kampung folks.

you know very well for the past few decades, umno have been robbing and raping the Country when you left umno and started up with S46. but sad you did NOT do much and instead chose to join them back. is it for the love of the Country then or for the love of the umno Malays?

now this time, we know you really do it for the love and hope to save the Country, we hope you can really pull this through and get rid of those who have been BETRAYING the Malays and our Country.

thanks Tengku for we need someone to fight them from within. and we put our trust in YOU !!!

The fundamental problem in Malaysia is that there is from the ruling parties since independence 50 over years ago. The BN leaders are busy with political dominance and gathering wealth that the real issue of integrating all Malaysian has been largely ignored. All efforts made were superficial only and mere propaganda without depth. Parties within BN were busy fighting for respective interests and racial integration suffers because of BN inherent divisive policies.

Time has come for Malaysia to do away with race based parties. If Malaysia is really to prosper, then stolking racial issues for political gains should be dealt with in the most severe manner. I hope to see Pakatan Rakyat been given a chance at govern Malaysia. 50+ years for BN is more enough.

It seems that only a handful of Malays professionals that are migrating to other countries compare to the other races. Most of the Chinese who migtrate is because of education that they are discriminate for a place in our local university. Just for example, even the USM can accept a foreigner who can't even speak or write English to pursue his doctorate in engineering. Did the USM give lecture in Arabic ? Something must be very fishy going on to accept this kind of student.
How about the hundreds of thousands half baked graduates we churned out every years to get employment with the current scenario. The government will definately won't be able to absorb all of them. Even Petronas had a very big surplus of employees that are usually shaking legs without doing anything. Whereas all the MNC in the O&G industry are trimming down their workforce and all their sales personnel work from home to keep the cost down. Exxon Mobil had their regional hub based in Bangkok to serve the Asia Pacific region.

Dear Tengku,

Malays are leaving because they feel UMNO is not fighting for their rights. UMNO is fighting for theirs' and their cronies pockets. They are lining their pockets with the peoples' (Malay, Chinese and Indians) money. They have no shame in stealing the peoples' money.

Another thing that causes UMNO's image to deteorirate fast is because those Mosad in APCO is misleading UMNO on what action to do. Not only APCO got the RM Millions of tax-payers' money but they also got a chance to make the dumb UMNO to walk into one trap after another.

UMNO deserve to be dupped by APCO's Mosad!

It is the result of the country having a corrupted government filled with half-past-six ministers who are only interested to take care of their own pockets and not for the interest of the country and its people. We reap what we sow for electing such a government.

You are obsoletely right YM Tengku. Now the Federal Gormen is even so cruel in implementing the Federal Land Law to Labuan Island. The Kampung Folks on the Island made the community life so simple that they have little piece of Land which They inherited from their fore father, grandfather and so on and now they can't even split them for distribution to their children. This is what West Malaysian Malay that hooked-up to UMNO did to the Labuan folks. Why there is a need to do that. They to speculate that the The Malay from Semenanjung now can Buy the NT land in Labuan whilst the Labuan Malay would not be able to buy land in Semenanjung. This island is so small in term of residential development and yet they rakus all these property by means of implementing the LAW that suit them for their own benefits.

I h ope the OLD FOLKS in Labuan now realised how cruel the MALAY from West Malaysiia.....

You all know what to do when the next General Election PRU13...
