(Bernama) -- The Home Ministry is still studying the contents of the book authored by Barry Wain titled "Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times", before making a decision on its circulation in Malaysia, said a statement from the ministry here on Saturday.

It said this was a normal procedure and that Barry Wain's book was not exempted.

This was to ensure the book would not affect the prevailing peace and stability in the country, the statement said, adding that the ministry had 60 days to make a decision as to whether the book could be sold in Malaysia.

On Monday, the Customs Department refuted a report carried out by a news portal that it was holding 800 copies of the book in Port Klang since a month ago.

In the book, Wain, former managing editor of the Asian Wall Street Journal, had claimed that former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had squandered up to RM100 billion in his 22 years in power.

However, Dr Mahathir in his blog www.chedet.co admitted there had been financial losses under his rule but the amount would not have exceeded RM10 billion and had also welcomed suggestions by his detractors for a Royal Commission of Inquiry to be set up to probe the matter.

He had also said that he reserved the right to sue Wain and others who had cast aspersions on him in the matter.

Home Ministry message to 1Malaysia:

You people do not need this book. Do you people really need an outside reporter to tell you that we had been stealing huge amounts of money from your fellas? And only 100B?

The reason is to see any of the Najib Cabinet, Polis, Judges, and Top Civil servants are involve in the RM100Billion ripe off by Mahathir.Mahathir alone can't to the ripe off, he need help like UMNO, MCA and MIC. Because UMNO is that stupid to steal 100Billion, they need the help of Samy Velu, Ling Liong Sik , Diam (another Kedah Mamak), Anada Krishnan, Vincent Tan and of course PETRONAS.

Kerismuddin,

You think you UMNOs arseholes are a smart lot by banning the books. Even the man himself, Mahathir is the least concerned about it.
Something about the bunch of you NEP racists mentioned therein ?

The Home Ministry and the KDN is still behaving like Toon Kutty’s lapdogs well after the many years since the rotting dictator had retired. Their balls still shrinks when Toon Kutty’s name was mentioned.

I have known about this phenomenon when the pheasants in Cambodia will scramble and go into hiding when the name “Pol Pot” was mentioned to them. They still fear him despite he was dead for many years already.

What we are seeing now is that Toon Kutty had successfully instilled fear in the “Ketuanan” Malay Ministers and government servants whose salary was paid by the rakyaat and not by Toon Kutty!

Yet these chest thumping and kris waving “Ketuanan” Malay always thought they are “Hang Jebat”, when in fact they are “Hang Tuah” or worse, “Hang Pondan”.

Krismuddin is a typical “Hang Pondan”. They needed a Pondan whose balls will shrink on the mentioned of Toon Kuttys’ name in charge of the Home Ministry in order for UMNO to survive!

Tun admits that RM10 billion may have been squandered during his time as PM. This is no small sum and certainly a Royal Commission is warrented to investigate how the billions disappeared. Unfortunately in our Bolehland such things are never investigated and even if it done it will end up as NFA.

The outcome on this matter is a foregone conclusion. However, those who had no knowledge of this book now do. It has been given free publicity by the bungling authorities and I am sure that Barry Wain is appreciative. As the saying goes, 'forbidden fruits taste sweeter' and it won't be the first time that a banned book mysteriously find its way to an interested reader.

Krismuddin & his boys can't decide what to do with the book because their brains are not working. This is because of having their brains washed by the Kutty Kaka for 22 good years.
Their minds too have been closed & made to fear & suspicious of other peoples & made to be afraid of their own shadows. Their minds are forever under a siege mentality.

Books in Malaysia have been banned for less flimsy reasons than insulting an UMNOputra leader.

Dear Home Minister,

Please study the book. If you are smart enough, you will soon realise how stupid your Malay Hero, Mahathir is. By studying this book, it will open up your eyes and flush out the shit that is in your head all this while.

The shit that Mahathir tries to put in every single Malays in his 22 years of power has certainly bear fruits as we can see from our everyday mainstream newspaper. The stupid comments that those UMNO leaders make everyday is the 22 years of hardwork that Mahathir put in.

Mahathir has certainly succeed in doing what he has plan all the while. Is to make the Malays as close minded as possible and fear the outside world.

Congratulations Mahathir.

Why need to consider banning the book when the subject matter is TDM and not the present PM? Let TDM sue Barry Wain if he has the case against him.

But let's not have high hope on it. Since it will expose all the evils involving UMNO and BN swindling the raayat, Najib would obviously want it banned.

I hope Singapore would not follow suit and Malaysians can drive across to read the disclosure of the century.

The longer it takes to make a decision ,more free publicity the book is accorded ,more sales are expected. It is a good idea to prolong its release,a blessing in disguise. Does not matter ,either,if it is not released by the "faithful" hero worshippers of Dr.Evil . It is era of electronic age.
