“Participants are indoctrinated with propaganda about ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ (Malay supremacy) and external threats,” he said.
THE MALAYSIAN INSIDER
When Hafidz Baharom, a freelance writer, entered a public university in 2002, he was sent with his classmates to a government camp for a week.It was the usual jungle trekking and other team-building activities, but interspersed with these were lectures. Some of the content was disturbing, he said.
“We were taught a song with lyrics like ‘the land that you walk upon is owned by others. Lecturers told us the Malays were forced to depend on the Chinese for support after 1998 because some Malays had betrayed their own race,” he recalled.
The segment on Malay betrayal was in reference to the 1998 sacking of deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim which caused many Malays to vote for the opposition in the general election a year later. “It was brainwashing propaganda,” Hafidz, 26, told The Straits Times.
These courses have been running for years, and are intended to instil nationalistic values and patriotism. Conducted by the National Civics Bureau — better known as BTN (Biro Tatanegara) — the courses are for university students on public scholarships and civil servants. BTN is under the Prime Minister’s Department.
Last week, seven young Pakatan Rakyat Selangor assemblymen handed over a letter to the Selangor government, urging it to stop allowing students of state- owned universities and colleges to attend these courses.
The Selangor government, which is now controlled by the opposition Pakatan Rakyat, owns three universities and colleges.

Let's just say, the government live off the Chinese and therefore the Malays benefit from it.

The question of how can it be that 90% of the amt of tax comes from non-Malays as mentioned and declared by TDM. Easy just look at the % of ethnic race distribution in Malaysia - 70+% Malays and 20+% Non-Malays and now look at the top 10 richest ppl in Malaysia. 80% - Chinese, 10% Indian, 10% Malay.
1) Robert Kuok - US$ 10 billion
2) Ananda Krishnan - US$ 7.2 billion
3) Lee Shin Cheng - US$ 5.5 billion
4) Teh Hong Piow - US$ 3.5 billion
5) Lee Kim Hua - US$ 3.4 billion
6) Quek leng Chan - US$ 2.4 billion
7) Yeoh Tiong Lay - US$ 2.1 billion
Syed Mokhtar Al- Bukhary - US$ 1.8 billion 9) Vincent Tan - US$ 1.3 billion
10) Tiong Hiew King - US$ 1.1 billion
This is a reverse order against the race distribution despite the fact that the govt has been given much help to the Malays with NEP, quota, AP etc. I wont even go into the crony list.
On top of that, there are also a large proportion of Malays who do not contribute to tax and are below the poverty line, those retired, those unemployed & drug addicts(not to mention Mat Rempits) and etc. Those on Goverment Salary scale are paid lowly hence contribute very little and they are made up largely by Malays and as we know a big proportion of the employed Malays are there.
In addition, an example on one of the companies that was mentioned by Maisur -Telekom Malaysia is outsourcing the project to foreign company . (ie HSBB to company like Alcatel, Huawei Fiberhome, ZTE info courtesy of The Edge and Business Time) as oppose to insourcing would mean out flow of money. This also means money going to these foreign company however their local expertise of these foreign companies are again local Chinese. This is similar to APs where the AP are sold to Chinese as easy way out and the Chinese makes the money and in turn back to the tax.
So why not 90% contributed by Non-Malays? I am thinking it should be higher especially on the last paragraph where more and more of this are outsourced becoz of lack of capability of Malays in GLCs and Goverment Agencies and the country is opening up will be a factor for the Malays to compete openly.

in 2007, petronas contributed 32% of the total tax. how about SIME, TM, AXIATA, CIMB, MAYBANK, TENAGA, MRCB, SCOMI, NAZA ETC ETC? don't tell me that these companies don't pay tax.. these "malay" companies contribute at least 60% of total tax to the government. the remaining 40% tax is paid by the high income malay employees in these big "malay" companies, the non-malays companies and the high income non-malays individuals
and the best thing off all.. so many people in MT believe what mahathir said!! haha!

At least something concrete is done after all the grouses against the BTN courses!
Let's see how our PM translates his 1Malaysia concept here -the taste to the pudding is in the eating!!

Every extra curricular activities must contain Ketuanan Melayu which in Sabah erks the natives because most of them are not considered melayu if they have not embrace ISLAM..
however, while Sarawak has no Melayu by definition, in Sabah the new Melayus are actually polipin moslems and indun moslems and also pakistan moslems and pushtuni such as MUSA aman
The real sabahan natives who are non moslems are actually 4th class citizens...
after this order..
first class: Malays
2nd: Chinese
3rd : Indian
fourth..... OTHERS.....
at the BTN course, a lot of sabahan has informed me, to attend it must be in moslem dresses for females, and males are not allowed to wear shorts also.
Some of the malay lecturers also must have pondan tendencies because even the sight of male thighs turns on their thing in the middle of the legs.. HAAA HA HA HA

Iraq is the only country on earth I know if I'm not mistaken, to have a dictator in Saddam from the minority race who terrorised and massacred those oppposed to him from the majority races. Is there a Saddam in the midst of the non-bumis who poses any threat to your existence? So pls do not be fooled by BTN. It's just UMNO's elite who are the Saddams trying to terrorise the majority of the rakyat. Yes, these political elites are like Saddam who will use force and dirty tactics to stay in power, or esle they will end up like Saddam, for sure.
My Malay bothers and sisters, it's time you wake up. The other races are no threat to your existence. We are all peace-loving people and majority are god-fearing, just like you were before you underwent BTN classes. After BTN classes, you will think and act like UMNO bigots who fear no god, treat other races like slaves and dogs. Your UMNO political masters fleece and improverise all of us on a daily basis. The latest I heard, MB of NS tried to move RM10mil out of the country. Have you not heard TDM's son invested billions in a brewery in the Philipines? Can you imagine how much the other UMNO lanuns have plundered and their loots moved out of the country?? Pls wake up, for the sake of your future generations and the counrty

Correction Its actually higher ie . 90% and not 85% tax are paid by the non-Malays esp Chinese. This is from the exerp of TDM
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that 90% of the tax is paid by the non-Malays, in particular the Chinese. Tun Dr Mahathir cried during one Umno general assembly because, he said, he had failed to change the attitude and mentality of the Malays. When asked, after he had retired on 1 November 2003, what was his greatest regret; Tun Dr Mahathir replied that his greatest regret is not being able to change the Malays in the 22 years that he was Prime Minister of Malaysia. Tun Dr Mahathir once lamented: why can’t the Malays be more like the Chinese?

Is this statement true? I thought many Malays hold top position in the government departments, and the civil service is monopolized by the Malays, and as such, they will be paying the taxes. Please clarify. Thanks.

Your chinese and indians politicians in MCA and MIC also tacitly supported and enabled this practices of seeding religious and racial hate, division, and assault.
(as long as their cash-flow was flowing, no problem if your safety and security interests are trampled)
Who is the fool to believe these youth camps and national service policies and rules are to build unity and harmony ?
(who exactly wants this politicians definition of unity and harmony via this cosmetic initiatives)
(then they send their children to be killed, injured, and of course cannot forget the government sanctioned money laundering schemes to the elite politicians).
Imagine the inconsistencies - having camps to forge unity, but all policies to separate and divide flourish and expand, in the universities, in the companies, govt allocations, financing, autos etc. Then understand what type of governance you want.
Understand that the politicians need (they won't say) the peoples to be divided (race religion class whatever pillar), so that influence and leverage is transferred to them, as opposed to being with the people.
The real fault lies in the people - for being gullible, easy-to-manipulate, easy-to-influence etc.... (if you have a backbone and capable of little bit of thinking, then its not so easy to be influenced by our 3rd class politicians).
People always will find it easier to blame others and scapegoat others for their predicaments challenges and failures - helps avoid having to feel the pain inside).
So time to start taking responsibility and accountability for who you choose to represent you, and for your own current conditions.

These are the same and very good example of what type of ppl the Goverment is breeding. I use the word breeding because the ppl do not have a mind of their own and just act in accordance to what they were breed for (similar to these camps where they brainwash the ppl) When the hardworking Chinese in my company does well, they are sideline and a subject of scrutiny by these Malays colleagues. Now how can this be good for the country???? The Malays just want easy way out. Majority just outsourced out and spend more money when in certain area it can be clearly seen that insourcing would have saved more money.
So I ask again how can 70+% be threaten by 20+% minority made up of various other races unless the Malays really do not have it. Similarly 85% of the incomes tax are paid by the non Malays despite the Malays holding such a high majority in the population. And what is worse is these ppl still blame the Govt. Fck I am here thinking how to make myself, my company and my country Malaysia a better place and there are 85 other guys saying they are not getting enough from the goverment. If the goverment really want to improve, they have to start with the Malays and not blame others esp the Chinese. They should get the capable Malays to groom the rest and support should be given to him. I am citing the Zaid Ibrahim case where during his service to the BN govt, all opposition within BN were pointed at him. Where was Badawi then to give him the support. He (Badawi) apponted Zaid and expect him to manage a bunch of useless politicians who only want to makes money on the sideline but not results. There you go the breeders of these ppl and ideology only do so with the intention of getting support from the very same Malay ppl to propogade hatred to stay in power and the only thing standing between them and their power in PAS as an alternative for the Malays.

What that moron did not say is that it is based on their UMNOputra's interpretation not the spirit of it as envisioned by our founding fathers.
Can any creative soul think of a way to bypass the banning of any recording device in some of the infamous BTN lectures so that solid evidence can be thrown at the UMNOputras faces?
