The answer is that although in the first past the post system the risk of a party having a majority of seats with a minority of popular votes is always there, the way to avoid such absurdities is to ensure that all the constituencies are appro­ximately t­h­­e sa­me size in terms of voter numbers. This is obviously not the case in Malaysia.

WHEN criticising laws and policies in this country, one of the stock answers that one is faced with is that the majority voted for the government in power, therefore, they are obviously happy with those said laws and policies. The majority rules after all.

I hypothesized he entertains a fantasy, one where he leads a rousing cheering adoring crowd of hundreds of thousands who will storm Putrajaya with him, garlanded of course and lifted onto their adulating shoulders, to become the head of the nation.

Pakatan Rakyat bukan sahaja gagal mengambil alih Negeri Sembilan malah jumlah kerusi DUN yang dimenangi pada PRU13 juga merosot. 

(FMT) - Negeri Sembilan sering disebut-sebut sebagai negeri yang bakal tumbang ke tangan Pakatan Rakyat (Pakatan) sebelum Pilihan Raya Umum ke-13 (PRU-13).

Rallying the people and riling them up will not be enough. They will want to see action, expect a resolution to the claims of cheating. If Pakatan doesn’t offer one, how would they feel? What then might be the consequences?

11 out of the 22 swing parliament seats that PR won from BN are Chinese majority seats (largest voting bloc). Whereas all 15 swing seats that BN won from PR are Malay majority seats.
