(TMI) - Dataran Merdeka will be closed off to the public for the next 48 hours from 6am tomorrow as the authorities move to prevent the Bersih 3.0 sit-in in the historic square this Saturday.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) issued the order after unconfirmed reports said  that police have obtained a court order today preventing the use of Dataran Merdeka for a rally.

KL mayor uses a by-law to temporarily close the venue for the Saturday Bersih sit-in rally from tomorrow 6am to Sunday morning.

When the speaker at the Anti-LGBT rally talked about killing whoever he imagined is “the enemy of this land”, and by enemy he implied anyone who advocates for the human rights of LGBTs, the authorities looked the other way. But when Seksualiti Merdeka appealed for understanding, compassion and equality, it was deemed a threat to the national security and was banned by the police.

We people cannot keep voting in representatives that cannot “represent” us in times of need. And it also affects the performance of the team as a whole. We may be ready for a change, we may be ready to cast our votes, but mind you, we are voting for a change. Not just a change of government, but also of governance.
