(The Star) - The Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) has chided the Opposition for rejecting the proposed Race Relations Bill due to their failure to understand the necessity for it.

BNBBC vice-chairman Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said the Opposition had failed to understand the intent behind the proposed Act and have misconstrued it because of its name.

“The proposed law is more than just regulating race relations as its intention is to prevent discrimination based on race.

“The law is drafted based on the United Kingdom’s Race Relation Act 1976 to ensure that a person will not be discriminated in the employment sector as well as when purchasing goods,” he said yesterday.

It was reported that Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz had announced that the Government was expected to table the Bill in the next parliament session in March.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk S.K. Devamany noted that other countries also had similar legislation and said it would act as a guideline to prevent race-based discrimination.

“We must understand that Malaysia is a multiracial country and we want to preserve unity. We do not want issues such as the Kampung Jawa temple demolition matter or the Interlok novel controversy to divide us even more,” he said.

Pakatan Rakyat MPs have rejected the proposed law, claiming there were adequate laws and policies to deal with racial discrimination and inequality.

PAS vice-president Datuk Mahfuz Omar said it was unnecessary for the Government to table another Bill to regulate race relations and foster mutual understanding among the races.

“Currently, we have the Sedition Act and the Penal Code which deals specifically with people who play up and create racial and religious tension. The current laws just need to be implemented properly,” he said

PKR vice-president Tian Chua said the Government should not rush into tabling such an important Act and should consult all relevant parties to ensure it was smoothly implemented.

What is the use of such an Act if Ibrahim Ali has not even been charged by the existing laws? Let us examine the draft first. What if it is similar to the peaceful assembly bill? We can never trust BN (UMMNO) again.

There are enough of provisions enshrine within the Federal Constitution to deal with any forms of racial discrimination except that they have all been conveniently overlooked and abused by those in power. What more can be said of this proposed ACT? Are we going to see something similar to that of the PAB that was bulldozed into Parliament just recently? The trouble is Umno believes in the Rules by Law and not the Rules of Law here!

Pakatan must not say no to a good act. I know that this bill is not enough, but it is in the right direction.
Pakatan better do what is right and not show they are stupid.

Pakatan must accept this act, but must say that they will make it a better act if they come to power.

We fully $okong the BNBBC vicious-chairman Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan that none of you renegades are stupid enough to understand the needs for the Race Relation Act. We must understand that Malaysia is a multiracist country and we want to preserve unity by having only one recognized race, i.e. the Ma$ter Race. The proposed law is more than just regulating race relations as its intention is to prevent discrimination against the 1One master race. The law is based on the United Kingdom’s Race Relation Act 1976 and the previously highly successful Internal Security Act, also inspired by the mat salihs that we kept for barisan nasional security, and to ensure that a master race person will not be discriminated in the employment sector as well as when purchasing goods such as diamonds and birkin bags. Now please kneel to this act you renegades anti-patriotic infidels or else.

Remember you read it here first by the Halal (Jakim certification pending) Good news - news media and surat bodek, the best that your ringgit can buy and can hope to buy. Dollar akbar... semua-nya OK!

BNBBC are all dungus. Even the masses reject the bill. We don't need it. We don't even need UMNO, MCA and MIC around. We will be a united and integrated Malaysians without those racist parties around. The people are not blind or deaf that they can't see and hear what those racist parties have done these years. Racial discrimination comes with UMNO. No UMNO, no discrimination.
