Masa saya kecil dahulu ada sekolah dewasa. Ini ialah sekolah untuk orang yang dah tua tapi masih bodoh sedikit kerana tak bersekolah masa mereka muda dahulu. Mungkin kerajaan perlu wujudkan semula kelas dewasa ini. Kalau tidak maka ramai rakyat Malaysia akan terus bodoh sombong.

Saya lebih selesa bercakap menggunakan Bahasa Malaysia dari menulis didalam Bahasa Malaysia. Ini kerana grammar saya berterabur sedikit dan ejaan saya ialah ejaan lama (e-tanda, sengkang, dan sebagainya).

Misalan, ‘didalam’, sekiranya ejaan lama, ialah ‘di-dalam’ (sengkang). Dan ‘telur’, ejaan lama, ialah ‘telor’, dengan e-tanda. Sekiranya takde e-tanda maka ia akan disebut sebagai taylor. Ia menjadi telor hanya apabila ada e-tanda.

Pasal itulah. Orang Cina (ejaan lama, China) nak sekolah Bahasa Mandarin dan orang India nak sekolah Bahasa Tamil. Orang Melayu pula tukar ejaan nak ikut Bahasa Indonesia dan tukar dari Bahasa Johor ke Bahasa Baku Kedah dan balik (balek) ke Bahasa Johor apabila orang Melayu semua dah keliru (‘confuse’ pun boleh digunakan sekarang untuk Bahasa Malaysia).

Akhirnya, semua hancur.

Masa sekolah dahulu kita terpaksa belajar kedua-dua Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Kebangsaan. Saya ‘score’ didalam perperiksaan Bahasa Melayu tetapi ‘scrape through’ sahaja didalam perperiksaan Bahasa Kebangsaan. Hari ini kita ada hanya satu bahasa sahaja, Bahasa Malaysia, ‘kabungan’ diantara Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Kebangsaan.

Lagi confuse.

Hmm…lagi. Perkataan ‘lagi’ pun ada banyak maknanya. Tetapi orang zaman sekarang tak berapa tahu tentang perkara ini.

‘Lagi’ boleh bermaksud ‘more’. Misalan: boleh saya ambil lagi?

‘Lagi’ boleh diguna sebagai ‘again’. Sebagai contoh ayat tersebut: dia lagi, takde orang lain ke?

‘Lagi’ boleh juga bermaksud ‘no longer’. Misalan: saya tidak sayang awak lagi.

‘Lagi’ boleh juga bermaksud ‘not yet’. Misalan: jangan bagi tahu dia lagi, rahsiakan dulu.

Nampaknya ramai juga masih (maseh) tak paham pelbagai kegunaan perkataan ‘lagi’.

Bila saya berkata saya tidak percaya lagi sehingga terlebih dahulu saya mendapat pengesahan cerita tersebut (not yet believe it until I first get further confirmation on the story), media massa arus perdana telah terjemahnya sebagai saya telah berkata ‘no longer believe’.

Sebab itulah, suruh belajar tak mahu belajar. Nak sekolah Tamil, nak sekolah Mandarin, nak Bahasa Melayu, nak Bahasa Kebangsaan, nak Bahasa Malaysia, nak Bahasa Baku. Akkirnya, Mat Salleh macam saya juga yang terpaksa ajar semua orang bahasa yang betul.

Itu dipanggil bodoh sombong. Dahlah bodoh, sombong pula. Tak tahu, buat macam tahu. Tak mahu tanya bila tak tahu.

Tugas saya bukan untuk memberi penjelasan atau untuk mengajar orang yang kurang fasih Bahasa Malaysia. Kalau tak tahu maka that is your problem. Balek kesekolah.

Dear Educationist,
Your reasoning is understood, but knowing the man well is something not many are privileged. Chandra is no comparison to RPK. You need balls of steel to stand up to the extraordinary forces of evil. RPK will never change not even for all the money in the world. As a true crusader he too probably has a reason to see somethings through, the end result should not be complicated or get terminated just because one has to explain a perceived or apparent misdirection. Sometimes even crusaders do face a formidable opposition that can cause major plans and ideas to backfire. So one has to be given time to overcome this. I am not RPK as I do feel ashamed to be even be suspected of being him. RPK is our CIK GURU, and this I state without putting him on a pedestal.

Much as I'm disappointed with the turn of events I have tried to keep my comments to the inconsistencies as reported in the Mkini reports.
No, much as I respect RPK , as I had respected that turncoat Chandra before I do not place him on a pedestal.
To thine own self be true!!
U put yourself as crusader for change, u have to defend yourself if your actions are inconsistent.
Or, else like Chandra take a cosy UMNOputra appointment and become their spokesperson!!

Sam Yap, Ezzy, Educationists, etc- looks like you guys have been badly affected by RPK's purported new revelation and U turn. It is understandable how people feel let down especially when they are pretty poor in understanding the fact of the matter. Looking at the way some of you comment it appears that non of you guys have any understanding of a truth that glaringly obvious. Have any one of you been held in Kamunting in solitary confinement or been harassed and bullied like RPK and his family?. Please understand how Marina had herself suffered and had been tormented during RPK's 2 years ordeal with the Malaysian government. RPK did all this for the rakyat, stupid. RPK was offered RMXX millions then to back off. He could have taken it and left you guys thinking that you deserve what you get. He didn't, thats RPK. Now over a simple issue which you guys do not understand nor have the patience to see it through, you hurl accusations like as though you had all just come out of 100 days of solitary confinement from Kamunting.

I'm not disputing the truth of your statement yet especially in Penang many are happy with the PR state government under LGE!!

You know why this problem in the language? because the teacher those days were called Cik Guru or Guru. Now the lazy fellows have made it CikGU. Now how can this be a problem. In its original form in Snskrit and Tamil, GURU means..GU=Darkness (ignorance) and RU = Light (enlightenment). GURU therefore means one who leads from darkness to Light or from ignorance to enlightenment(Knowledge). Therefore CIKGU means ONE WHO PERPETUALLY LIVES IN DARKNESS!!!!!!! RPK is GURU and all else who don't see the light are still CIKGUs.

mereka bermonopoli bekalkan buku sekolah kepada murid.
Polisi bahasa malaysia sama juga polisi pelajaran kita, sentiasa berubah, setiap kali menteri baru masuk. Semasa anwar, nama kementerian ditukar dan bahasa baku diperkenalkan. Ini semua makan belanja yang banyak. dan membazir tenaga dan masa.
