The Malaysian Military:

Present strength of the Malaysian Army is approximately as follows:
Malaysian Army Active: 110,000 personnel
Active Reserve: 41,600 personnel
Paramilitary: 18,000 personnel
RELA People's volunteer corps: 596,799 personnel

This makes it close to 800,000 Malaysian Military.

Strangely, this exceeds the Burmese Junta, which only has 492,000 Military.

What is even more surprising, is the fact that Malaysia only has a population of 25 million, while Burma, has a population of 50 million. So, while the world looks at Burma, and criticizes it for having far too much Military-to-Population ratio, I'm sure, that they forgot to look at Malaysia. Anything listed under the Military, is deemed "Classified", and out-of-bounds for scrutiny. Items such as a lone-thief with Jet-Engines bound for Iran, Stolen C4 for Mongolian BBQ's, Submarines which can only float, Sale of Burmese Refugees, and so on.

Looking at the above stats, one can only draw 2 conclusions.

1) The "Ketuanan Militar"  (yes, I deliberately use the Indonesian word) is so useless, that it takes 4 times the number that of Burma, per capita.

2) Malaysia is preparing for Military Rule. Let's not forget all the recent announcements of new Military Purchases.

Assuming that Malaysia will not be ruled by the Military yet, let's look at Malaysian Efficiency.

Civil Servants
Malaysia has the highest number of Civil Servants in this region. Let us compare with the One Million Civil Servants in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. This Indian state has a population of 75million people. Andhra Pradesh is always accused of being ultra inefficient, and too dumb to effectively run it's operations. Now here's the bad news. Malaysia also has One Million Civil Servants. And the fact that Malaysia has only 25million people, makes Malaysian Civil Servants Three times as inefficient, Three times as stupid compared to Andhra Pradesh. In comparison, even Indonesians, whom many UMNO people consider to be stupid, have only HALF the percentage-ratio of Civil servants ! Which, in effect makes Indonesian Civil Servants twice as smart as any Civil Servant you will meet in Malaysia. The Thais also have the same proportion as that of Indonesia. Same for Korea. Viva Ketuanan !!

Is this why they are called "Civil Servants" but need not behave like Servants?

n_08rempit.jpg
Civil Servants by day, Mat Rempit by night.

Brains of the country
Previously, in response to the problem of unemployed graduates, Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak declared that the civil service would be picking up the slack — an explicit admission that the government employs the worst of our graduates to keep them from turning against the government at the ballot box. (If you can't get employed, then come work for us)

Around the same time, Parliament was informed that 70% of public university graduates are unemployed.

Whatever the case may be, the fact is that a lot of the graduates our public universities unleash on the country are not employable. And these unemployable people find employment in the government.

Brawn of the Prime Minister's Dept.
There were only 4,414 staff in 1981
It takes 43,544 staff to run Jibby's admin today. And that is a 1,000% increase, with the largest spike in 2010, from 25,332 staff to 43,544 staff.  (this is an increase of 71.893% in ONE YEAR!!!!) It is ironic, and iconic that Malaysians simply became 1,000% more stupid since 1981. We definitely need more BTN programs.
Just to rub salt into the wound, it only takes 1,888 staff in the White House to run America, which has a staggering 300million population.

monkey.jpg?w=500&h=287
I can scream and shout about Prostitutes, Beggars, Drunkards, and Slitty-Eyes with impunity, because I have Ketuanan.

Pocket of the Prime Minister's Dept
The White House budget request for 2011 (pg 13 of this PDF) is for a total of US$393,883,000 which works out to RM1, 299, 813, 900.

The Budget for our Prime Minister's Office is RM4 billion (US$1.25 billion)
So, while Malaysia spends triple that of America in terms of absolute Dollars, let's not also forget that America has a population of 300million, while Malaysia only has a population of 25million. Effectively making the Executive expenditure at 300 times more than America  per capita !!

USA14_120410_NAJIB_OBAMA.jpg
Bammy: "Eh, how come your office spends three times mine although your population is only less than one-tenth of America?"
Jibby: "We have Ketuanan...."
Bammy: "What is Ketuanan?"
Jibby: "Well, it's kinda like 1Malaysia... no one really knows, but we just shout about it, and my (uneducated) voters seem to like the sound of it..."

And for those who argue that the Military is placed under the Prime Minister's Department, I will want to immediately highlight that, this is also the case with Tan Swe, who is the Dictator of Burma. And by the way, Burma only spends US$39million for its' Military.

Now I pose it to you, is Malaysia really headed in the direction of Military rule? There certainly have been countless Joint-Military Malaysia-Burma Exercises in Myanmar already; both countries want Nuclear in their Arsenal, and Altantuya still rests uneasy.

The short-cut to Military Rule in Malaysia is, if UMNO can restart another May13th. This is something they look forward to. Below is a video which some UMNO-friendly person has put up

Under Military rule, there will be no Opposition. Malaysia can lockup anyone for 20years like some other Nobel Prize Winner we know, and no Embargo is going to scare them. They've seen it fail in Burma, and certainly have enough oil money to shut up the opposition for a very very long time.

Malaysia badly needs a new government, and it needs to happen today!

John Doe's response to Syd sent by email to Malaysia Today

Dear Syd,
you wrote, "...Down south in cheenapore, they have over one million in active mode as reservist.
And their standing army is more than us. .."

Perhaps you should have read this first:
The SAF relies heavily on a large pool of conscripts in the active and reserve forces. It has an active strength of around 71,600 personnel and is capable of mobilising over 300,000 reservists
taken from:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore_Armed_Forces

Dear Syd, for them to have as many Military as you claim, then you're looking at 25% of the entire Singapore Population. Is this even possible? And where would you be fetching those numbers from?

And Singapore only spends US$456million on arms. That amount is still HALF of that spent by the PM's Office.

You want more info on Singapore's SAF, then head here:

Just remember that they WILL track your IP Address if you c***k this link.

Finally, I can't believe that you actually think that Singapore would invade Malaysia !! Ya, Mahathir recently accused Singapore for Malaysia's Racism, but that does not mean Singapore will attack. They have far too many Billions at stake to meddle with pitiful Malaysia. So what if they do? Singapore will assume a debt of unheard proportions !!! No thanks!

You can worship your Ketuanan till you bleed !! Singapore will NOT attack Malaysia.

Don't bluff lah john Doe.
rela is just a volunterr corp.
Our army strength is just about what you mentioned:
Present strength of the Malaysian Army is approximately as follows:
Malaysian Army Active: 110,000 personnel
Active Reserve: 41,600 personnel
Paramilitary: 18,000 personnel

Down south in cheenapore, they have over one million in active mode as reservist.
And their standing army is more than us.
They also spend more money annually in their defence budget than us.
Why you compare to burmese junta.
Go compare our armed forces with the threat down south.

One reason why they do not want to dismantle the causeay is for defense purpose. causeway is more difficult to destroy than a bridge. Their defense is to invad southern johore and stop far enough out of range of milotary bombardment capability.

John Doe is spot on.

Petronas, is controlled by Mahathir as in most of the Oil &Gas companies in Malaysia. The GLCs know that their bread is buttered by Mahathir. Most UMNO division chiefs are terrified of Mahathir and will obey him. Taib Mahmud is at this moment being brought to heel by Mahathir. The military leadership is aligned to Siti Hasmah, thus Mahathir. The Judiciary, Police and Royals kowtow to Mahathir, so no problem.

All Mahaterrorist needs is a spark to activate his plan. So thats why the barking dogs are let loose again in the form of Perkasa, BTN and more Malay ultra NGO's to come. The Bapak Anjing is making flanking moves to pull the rug from under Najib and neutralise him, but Najib still can's see it.

Pakatan is busy with their internal fights, no time for the rakyat now.

So all we the rakyat can do, as in other god forsaken failing states, is either go work in other countries, or just stock up food in the house and watch the game. Unless of course the rakyat has the guts to come out in droves to support a nationwide long term hartal and drive all investors and tourists off.

What bothers me is the probability of this theory being true gets higher each day smilies/cry.gif It is not as far fetched as it might seem. If I am not mistaken, in the past before UMNO removed the power of the Malay Rulers, the military would have been divided in terms of loyalty (one faction supporting UMNO and the other the Rulers), but over the years as is all major government institutions, most of the the key and influential positions have been given to pro UMNO people.

I hope John Doe is wrong. God help us!
