Shun vices to gain respect, Shafie tells Malays

(Bernama) - Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal has called upon Muslims and Malays in the country to avoid conflict among themselves to earn the respect of other religions and races.

He said in order to preserve the image of Muslims and Malays, they need to stay away from social ills that they are frequently associated with.

“Others will respect us if the country’s Muslims, Malays and Bumiputeras show good behaviour instead of being involved in street racing and baby dumping.”

“Innocent babies are abandoned because of our actions. It seems like others aren’t involved in this ... we are the ones street racing, smoking ganja (marijuana) and even syabu.”

“These acts are linked to our youths and can bring about negative perceptions among others that we are not noble people and our people cannot set good examples,” he said during a breaking fast function with the community in Semporna here today.

***************************************

Most of you have certainly heard of Cat Stevens, now known as Yusuf Islam. But have you ever heard of Chaplain Yusuf Estes (photograph above) now known as Sheikh Yusuf Estes? If not then go to these links and read about the man.

http://www.famousmuslims.com/Yusuf%20Estes.htm

http://islamtomorrow.com/

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Yusuf-Estes/9209579703

Now, why are we talking about Yusuf Estes? Simple, because Yusuf Estes once said, “I love Islam but I hate Muslims.” He also said that if you want to see good Muslims then you have to go to the Christian world. In other words, the Christians conduct themselves the way Islam asks Muslims to conduct themselves -- but unfortunately they don’t.

This is exactly what I have been saying for years but when I say it they detain me without trial under the Internal Security Act.

And with that opening statement I would now like to refer to the Bernama report above about what the Umno VP, Mohd Shafie Apdal, said.

Shafie has asked the Malays-Muslims to shun vices so that the non-Malays/non-Muslims would have more respect for the Malays-Muslims. While that is a good and noble appeal, what concerns me is that ‘vices’, according to Shafie, is merely premarital sex (abandoning illegitimate babies or baby dumping), street racing and smoking pot (marijuana, ganja or syabu).

What about the other vices? There are worse things than premarital sex, street racing and smoking illegal substances. Should Shafie not be more concerned about the other more serious vices? Why has he not mentioned these as well? These are more damaging than premarital sex, street racing and getting high on weed.

I remember, back in the 1970s, at the height of the Vietnamese refugee problem, Terengganu was flooded with ‘boat people’. And what did the Malays-Muslims do? They 'kidnapped' the good-looking Vietnamese girls and women and raped them.

I personally knew the OCPD of Kuala Terengganu who headed the operation to round up the Vietnamese boat people. He would point to the girls and women who met his fancy and order his police officers to separate them from the rest and transfer them to his ‘harem’.

Sometimes the Vietnamese refugee boats were intercepted on the high seas and the girls/women were removed from the boats. One week later you will find these girls/women clinging to the oil rigs about 200 kilometers offshore. They would be dumped there after the men have had their fill of them.

Is this the way Malays-Muslims should treat unfortunate refugee girls and women? And can you imagine how the children, brothers, husbands or fathers feel when they see their kin taken away and used as ‘sex toys’?

Most Vietnamese refugees came with gold strapped to their bodies. Do I need to add that in many instances they would be ‘relieved’ of their gold?

Then they would be dumped on Pulau Bidong, the refugee island. Then they would be charged ten times or more the market price for the food they bought. A loaf of bread or packet of Maggi Mee would cost a king’s ransom. These poor refugees would be exploited and they either pay the exorbitant cost for their food or starve.

You may say that this was back in the 1970s and today we no longer have any Vietnamese refugees landing on Malaysia’s shores. Maybe so, but we still do have many refugees coming to Malaysia, although not ‘boat people’ from Vietnam, and they still suffer exploitation.

In fact, it is now worse. Today, they are rounded up and sold to the slave traders while the beautiful girls and women are sold to the pimps and forced into prostitution.

Can you imagine your daughter, wife, sister or mother being sold to the slave traders and turned into prostitutes? Can you live with that? And what would the non-Muslims think of the Muslims when it is Muslims who are behind this foul act?

Can Shafie also please condemn this? Don’t confine the condemnation to just street racing, baby dumping and smoking pot. In my book, slave trading and the flesh trade (prostitution) is worse.

I raise this matter because of what Shafie said: that Muslims must shun vices to avoid non-Muslims having a poor opinion of Muslims.

And I am only talking about just one issue. I am not even yet talking about abuse of power, corruption, police brutality, deaths in custody, fraudulent elections, racism, exploiting Islam for political gain, and much, much more. And don’t let me even start on those issues or else this piece is going to be 30 pages rather then three pages long. These are all vices committed by Malays-Muslims, which Shafie avoided and did not mention.

So there is more that Malays-Muslims need to do to clean up their image. Street racing, baby dumping and smoking pot does not even scratch the surface. Those are merely the tip of the iceberg.

Why do Malay-Muslim ministers like Shafie not dare call a spade a spade? If they are really concerned about the image of the Malays-Muslims and are concerned about what the non-Malays/non-Muslims think about the Malays-Muslims then there is much that needs to be done. And eradicating street racing, baby dumping and smoking ganja will not achieve that.

I think I have made my point so shall I stop here before my piece becomes too cheong hei?

========================

Wah ! There is work for Zebrahim Arsely of Perkosa here , "....to earn respect of other religions......." !!!!

It sure is very comforting to know that Sapie holds high esteem of respect from "other" religions ! He sounds like a MP for all his constituents in particular and all Malaysians in general !!! Its a good start, anyway !!!!

Islam means peace. And the crescent moon, a new beginning. To bad for the Vietnamese boat people, the Muslim police of Malaysia were totally opposite from being good Muslims. It was violence and the end of life.

Like RPK says, it is not the religion that is at fault, but the practitioners.
And among the practitioners, its the leadership that showed the way by example.

The Maharacist is the source and the scourge of the dereliction of the sense of righteousnesses and duty amongst the civil servants. He sampaikan, as the home minister at that time, that the Vietnamese life was of no value, so "We will shoot them". So before killing those useless people, rape them-lah, steal their gold-lah. Very good example of the great Ulamak, the greatest Muslim leader of Malaysia, the Maharacist.

So today, where goes a good Muslim civil servant in Malaysia? Or is there one still left?

I remember Mahathir said he will shoot the boat people..

Yes, Mahathir is also a Muslim and he threatened to kill of boat people, he backed down after strong criticism by the Christians west, but his law enforcers almost all of them Muslims loot and rape the Vietnam refugees, even now and then, we heard stories of them rape and molest girls arrested in prostitute dens or Karaoke bars, what a shame.

The mind set of Muslims must changed, they are not the God (Allah) chosen ones, but all human beings.

Yes, agreed, but how? When they (the UMNO politicians) themselves are also behaving badly, witness the bottom pinching of the waitress buttocks, married illegally, crude remarks on the opposite sex, raping of teenage girl and the list goes on.. can we trust these people to lead and change/solve the Malays social problem?

What RPK has revealed, the 1970's OCPD of Kuala Terengganu for example, is only the tip of the iceberg. I also remember the case of the gang-rape of a Vietnamese refugee who was brought onboard a Royal Malaysian Navy patrol boat. Little did the crew know that she was a school teacher - an educated person - and she brought the incident to light after she was sent to France for resettlement. I believe RPK would have known about this too as it was in the international news. I think Ghazalie Shafie was the foreign minister at that time. The entire ship's crew was detained as a result, and "confined to base" for further investigations. But what happened to the crew is something I'm not too sure about till this day. This is just another example!

Sorry to all Muslims out there for what I have to say. As already revealed above and all the time, the Malays and Muslims can't earned their respect by all the wrong things they had done and are doing right now.
If you want to know what Islam teaches, one can go in the internet and see for those for and those against the teaching in the Quran. One must be opened minded and read and understand from both side.
Are the teachings in the Quran producing bad examples? That could be the reasons. You be the judge.
For your information, I just read and now understand why the Muslims would want to kill anyone who 'insult' Muslims. The Quran says that' insulting Islam is worse than murder' . Correct me if I am wrong. And the other famous lines , ' seizes them and kill the infidels where they are' . ' Do not make friends with the Christians and Jews and many many more negative teachings of cruelty, hatred, selfishness, lusts, and greed. Dumping babies and drugs and corruptions are just a part of many negative results of wrong up bringing and teachings.
i think those so called good and moderate Muslims are the product of western or Christians influences. You be the judge. Sorry, but remember that I cant make you angry and hate me. Anger comes from within one's heart after long indoctrination or called it habits if you want.
My habits is to love you all Muslims and care for you if you have needs. All because I followed Jesus.

If the whole world look down upon muslims, it's the muslims fault. Muslims don't live up to Islam. and in Malaysia, the worst examples are set by UMNO leaders. By that I don't mean that other muslims are fault free. But it seems that the Malays are the champions of all vices. No wonder Muhyiddin chose to be Malay first and Malaysian second.

Since Shafie Apdal is suffering from a loss of memory with him only mentioning about the youths--- i shall give him wake up call too for ones his age and more The same to the ones who sold off their culture and upbringing. Well those ??? PIG, --tail, ABU, Zahrain, skull capped Zulkifly Nordin, Sharri, Ali Baba,Cheras Albashit, Paud, Zegna attired Megat Najammudin, the world's worst Foreign Minister Anifah Aman ( who doesn't know the difference between a cat and dog's acorns). Is he Malaysia's Ambassador Numero Uno?? etc .I'm picking these scums up from the surface of the basket because they behave more Malay than the rest , more Muslim than the rest , more men than the ones who had built Malaysia to what it was till they all destroyed it!!
My Malay brothers shun them all, and for all that their ugly heads profess!!! They can keep this for their albums for posterity and stop telling us tales!! The DNA is not static but dynamic in its encoding. Whenever we think and act the DNA is being encoded and is therefore dynamic. Our thoughts and action give either upgrade or degrade our genes. This could lead to the offsprings having a low and sub-level intellect based on the developments and wants of the senses and the mind. So the Malay DNA is only getting worse as they think and act on the most basic of all basic platforms, namely lust and greed. Lust and greed epitomises the very aspect of negativeness of SATAN. If allowed to manifest then it leads to rape , infanticide etc. So what does it mean?

I hear this for the first time on the terrible rape of the vietnamese women at the proximity to Malaysia.
The vietnamese girls/woman must had a terribly life-scarring moments, beyond our imagination. When they are so vulnerable from fleeing from hell communism at the time, and here came the malay muslim doing it utmost barbaric things to other human. This is pure unadulterated vices. This rape would be equally in disgust to the rape of the chinese girls by the Imperial Japanese army in Nanking 1937–1938, former capital of China or the Jewish girls by the Nazi in WWII.

Well the muslim Malay have to live with this very shameful episodeof their race history. Until they come to recognise this problem, be contrite and apologise/make amends for the action, there will always a terrible black stain on themselves.

There are so many vices already, product of the malaysia government. The vices mentioned by Shafie Apdal, pale in comparison with all the large vices by the BeEnd, as stated by the Mestro.
Get the big vices corrected first , improve living standards/better wages, provide genuine fun activities/more facilities for all to use, tolerate some fun activities, then all these vices will come down or looked upon as tame affairs, just people having some fun, some doing it more than others.

Who dont wish to inhale when they were young and superman like, with full testorone? Who dont want to race like a champion motor-bike racer? Why crack down the young having some fun? Why so serious? We were all young once and we did many naughty things. It was free and easy.

All these are knee jerk reactions or reactive responses to the problems facing Malaysians. Our so called leaders have never been proactive or really want to study or know why these social problems existed in the first place. All they are interested in is to sapu as much as possible into their pirate chests and to create religious or racial propaganda to control the minds of the Muslim masses. Look at their useless sloganeering over the years with one that stood out like a sore thumb, 'Bersih, Amanah dan Cekap' or 'Kepimpinan melalui teladan'. The follow up cruelty against the fleeing boat people is a cue taken from the grandson of an Indian immigrant Mahahtir, the then prime minister of Malaysia whose own grandfather also boat people of the Indian Rajula ship, fleeing from poverty for a better life. His underlings or his thugs very "kindly" substituted raping and theft ,instead of Mahahtir's call for shooting on sight on high seas. a guest,

Have you read the Quran, the whole of it and not just certain verses at random.

Yes the Quran does command Muslims to seize and kill the infidels wherever you may find them but only provided if they oppress you or prevent you from practising God's religion and if they are the first to start the aggression.

And just who are the infidels. If you were to study the Quran, the whole of it, you would realised that by infidels, God meant the hypocrites - those who claimed to be Muslims but who act contrary to what have been stipulated in the Quran that those who submit themselves to God ought to be doing. These are the people who have set up beside God, idols who ordain for them religious laws and fatwas other than what have been stated in the Quran - they forbid what God has made lawful and condone vices forbidden by God such as corruption, oppression, adultery, lying, deceit and many other misdeeds.

Also do specify for me verses in the Quran wherein God condones cruelty, hatred, selfishness, lust, greed or other vices.

If you have not read or study the Quran, do not attempt to comment or critcise as you only follow hearsay and conjectures which are no substitute for the truth.

Who told you that insulting Islam is worse than murder. The only verse in the Quran which states a vice worse than murder is slander or making false accusations which you, out of sheer ignorance, seems to be doing.

Oh, and you sure you really follow Jesus, who also happens to be a submitter to God. Having also read the Bible myself, I doubt that you do. Otherwise, you would not be making unfounded accusations without first checking the facts.

Salam..
