Malaysia’s IGP issued a ten-page press statement saying that SCOPE was duped into getting involved in an illegal business and that the Malaysians were totally unaware of what was going on. (Read here).
Buhary Seyed Abu Tahir or BSA Tahir was detained under the Internal Security Act on charges that he was behind the illegal operation and that he had conned the son of the then Malaysian Prime Minister into allowing his company to be used for illegal activities. (Read here).
Well, it is now time to read the statement that BSA Tahir made to a closed-door inquiry that was held to hear his side of the story as to what really happened. And, after reading what he has to say, it is no wonder that the government chose to detain him without trial under the ISA rather than put him on trial where the whole story would become public knowledge.
Yes, BSA Tahir was not detained under the ISA because he was a threat to national security. He was detained under the ISA so that he need not be put on trial where many important people would be implicated in illegal activities. And BSA Tahir’s statement to the closed-door board of inquiry clearly demonstrates this.
40 questions were posed to BSA Tahir by the closed-door board of inquiry. Below are the first three questions and answers. And BSA Tahir’s opening statement shows that the Malaysians knew what was going on and that they wanted in because of the ‘tax free’ profit they would enjoy if the business went to them instead of to Turkey.
If BSA Tahir had been put on trial it would have been very damaging to the Prime Minister’s family. So they chose to detain him instead under the ISA and then conducted a closed-door inquiry so that the secret would not become public knowledge. Then, with this ‘secret’ information, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was forced to resign as Prime Minister to clear the way for Najib Tun Razak to take over.

he does not need the old man or his daughter anymore.

But not to worry, when the Pakatan Rakyat takes over the rule after GE-13, the FOI will enable all Malaysians to get to know everything regarding this matter, although that fle has been stamped OSA.
Just cannot wait for that day.
