Kesemua 700 anggota Unit Amal PAS yang ditugaskan mengawal perhimpunan membantah kenaikan harga minyak di Stadium Kelana Jaya telah menarik diri kerana tidak puashati dengan persembahan sebuah kumpulan muzik petang tadi.
Kumpulan seramai empat anggota itu dikenali sebagai kumpulan muzik 'Lawan Tetap Lawan' yang dijemput membuat persembahan di majlis tersebut.Bagaimanapun, kumpulan tersebut hanya sempat menyampaikan tiga lagu sahaja apabila mereka diminta menghentikan persembahan mereka.
Lagu-lagu tersebut yang berirama Punk, bertajuk Hapuskan penindasan, Demokrasi tanpa ISA dan Nyanyi budaya pembebasan.
Mereka sepatutnya menyampaikan tujuh lagi di majlis tersebut. Mereka memulakan persembahan pada jam 2.30 petang tadi.
Menurut seorang anggota kumpulan tersebut, Ahmad Nizamuddin Abdullah, juruacara majlis tersebut menegur persembahan mereka selepas lagu pertama.
Bagaimanapun, mereka meneruskan juga dan lepas lagu ketiga, Hishammudin Rais meminta mereka menghenti persembahan.
Beliau berkata, pihaknya diberitahu yang lagu-lagu yang mereka persembahkan, tidak sesuai dengan majlis tersebut.
Sementara itu, Ketua Amal PAS Wilayah Persekutuan, Sharifuddin Mohd Yatim mengesahkan yang pihaknya menarik dari daripada majlis tersebut.
Mereka adalah antara 2,500 anggota Pemuda Pakatan Rakyat ditugaskan untuk mengawal perhimpunan membantah kenaikan harga minyak di Stadium Kelana Jaya hari ini.
Yang lainnya terdiri daripada anggota Skuad Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK). -- Malaysiakini

punk is no more than poor qualify souls trying to qualify themselves as musician. they are not musician, only certified noisemaker. any use of expletives no matter what the occasion is not acceptable. the 700 anggota Unit Amal PAS should not have just walked out but should have gone on stage and smashed up all the noise instrument and the noisemaker themselves.

I hate to say this, but PAS' behavior is immaterial and irrelevant here.
Punk Rock bands? I thought the people wanted to formulate and express their demands for lowering of fuel price, and to listen to ideas for solutions to rising prices.
And Carburator Dung? Aren't these guys in the band like 40 years old now or something?

This incident is to be threated as a lesson for us all on how important it is to take into account sensitivity of the crowd expected to be there for the event.
I saw the performance and I would say, personally, it is not to my liking, in this sense , it was I believe a wrong choice or selection made by the organisers to have such a band to perform knowing very well, this event was targeted at families in general. And on top of it, it is co organised with Pakatan Rakyat , of which PAS is an active.
The band on the other hand should have heeded the warnings and toned down accordingly.
Their act is not inline with the objective of the protest.
On the other hand, the people should not have turned unruly themselves.
Dissaisfaction could have been voiced out to the organisers in a constructive manner instead.
Anyhow, the programme went on well after that. But surely ,this one incident will now be played over and over on MSM to paint a wrong picture of the event.
We all wanted to paint the town red yesterday, and that is what was done.
I do hope PAS will forgive the mistake and look forward to a better event organisation and coordination in the future.
In that note, it was not proper either for them to pull out wholesale from the event. The objective of that teams was to safeguard the rakyat. Which they should hae carried out dutifully despite the hesitation after the incident.
I just hope Pakatan Rakyat and NGOs will take into serious consideration the type of performance and activities to be included in their future events.

I am with PAS on this one. Malaysia is not ready for punk rock during family events (though I don't really know if this event was really a family event or more a political event, either way punk rock also not a good choice). Well alright, my point is that they shouldn't have pulled out during the event itself. PAS was 'brought in' by the people (voters). If they are not in-line with the organizers, so be it - but don't turn your back on those that had brought you into power! It would be appropiate if they had backed off before the event for eg. the day before.
And particularly:
They could have inquired before the event right? At least, some sorta compromisation could have taken place. It same as, when you got for a camping, you'll check what have you brought before leaving to the campsite.
PAS is against hedonism, 'excessive' entertainment etc - I am not bothered, it's their problem. I just didn't like the idea of them pulling out during the event. It could have been avoided if proper measures have been taken.

Well I was there and watched the performance and earlier ones as well. Previous ones are well planned like the lion dance and a couple of bands b4 strumming on acoustic guitar. The Carburetor Dung band just was too much contrast. And I being a non-muslim already found their performance excessive. Especially because that it was a family outing.
