Let HINDRAF, take this opportunity to wish you, your family and friends best wishes for a happy and prosperous 2009.
HINDRAF would like to pay tribute to all HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS - those who had faced adversity and being continuously subject to various methods of systematic discrimination and marginalization practiced by the present UMNO led government as these true children of the nation have persevered through their struggle directly and indirectly to create the awareness and truly have awaken the nation.HINDRAF hold fundamental for democracy, for openness, and co-existence of races irrespective of race or religion and their differences. However, exploitation of race and religion by various sectors seems to be the main agenda of the UMNO led government and its agent provocateurs.
The government through its mechanism continues to suppress the general will of the nation that is calling for fundamental changes. This is taking place, and HINDRAF's demand for change, transformation for a return of human values for the Malaysian Indians can no longer be suppressed nor contained as it has transpired to become the foremost demand of the general public.
In 2008, our comrades were highlighting the oppressed state of the Indians through rallies, petitions and various diplomatic approaches locally and internationally which has been chastised by tyranny of the UMNO lead government. So have other organization and individuals of the Malaysian society who had faced the backlash of the UMNO tyranny. However, HINDRAF's reasoning and spirit are undeterred as we step into 2009.
Confident, resolute and without fear for the truth and reality, HINDRAF will forge ahead with new strategies, along with its allies both locally and internationally to spearhead the cause for the systematically marginalized and discriminated Malaysian Indians.
These activities in 2009 to be coordinated by HINDRAF will involve extensive coverage in the international arena in North America, Europe, and Asia as well as domestically.
HINDRAF is thankful for the support it has received and shall contribute with all its strength to push forward the necessary changes to ensure that the reforms in the society would lead to a fairer social and economic equality for the Malaysian Indians as well as the rest of the nation.
HINDRAF again takes this opportunity to wish all Malaysians a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Folks, there is no need to advice Hindraf on their political strategies. They have the best on their side. There is some need to advice PKR though, who, IMO, are woefully inadequate.

With all due respect sir, while HINDRAFs struggles are legitimate, of late they have been trying to go it alone.
Manickavasagam of kapar was quoted saying that he will check with you before making a decision whether or not to quit Pakatan- this is a direct insult to Selangor MB Khalid, and has disenfranchised him with many within pakatan.
He is a man with a good heart but sometimes his emotional outbursts prove to be his undoing, since he thinks highly of you , please advise him.
I humbly appeal that if HINDRAF plans further anti ISA protests it would be wise to coordinate this with GMI, pakatan and other groups, there is strength in numbers and diversity.
I made an impassioned plea for HINDRAF not to attend PM's hari raya open house,
they would not listen, and we all know the outcome of that.
Frankly Sir, we have had enough of UMNO's ketuanan Melayu, we do not need another group to start ketuanan India.
In fact UMNO is just waiting to play up these sentiments.
The best thing HINDRAF can do now is work within the Pakatan Rakyat framework.

2009 saw HINDRAF bringing to the people 'Makkal Sakthi'. The spirit of Makkal Sakthi remains now within all our hearts regardless of race and religion. Ban HINDRAF but one cannot ban Makkal Sakthi.

We wishes all Hindraf's supporters and all Malaysian a Happy new Year and continues to champion on for human rights. Do not be saddened by the ISA arrest.
They are the true heroes.
Do not be let down by the recent MP of kapar bad decision .
As a real hero will fights on and continues.

Btw, would you please advise the MP for Kapar, Manickavasagam to either resign from the MP seat if he wants to leave PKR, or forever hold his peace? We need someone who has the staying power, good negotiation skills and other softskills to help steer ourselves away from race based objectives and work together towards a better and UNITED Malaysia.
