A decade ago, there was no such thing as "Mat Rempit" - there were illegal motorcyclist, though - those who don't possess a valid license. However, the past few years saw the rise of rowdy motorcyclist who not only do dangerous stunts on the road, but also harass or even injure innocent people.

As expected, the police say they'll do something - yeah, road blocks that were not preventive enough - but the problem seem to get worse. How do we get them off the streets? Build a circuit for them, someone said. But these bikers aren't interested in such "cheap" venues. They prefer places with more excitement, thrill and danger where the stakes are high and where girls lose their dignity.

Yeah, something is really wrong with our education system, and perhaps with parents.

This is the failure of our education policies,Hisap-putin should be hold responsible for producing these hooligans.By the way,may be they are mat rempit sponsored by KJ and Co.

When issues are small, they never cared to look into it. Only respond when its serious and ended up been kicked in the ass! Worst thing is, some big number of them are the sons or relatives of high level police officers!

It is a British policy to groom second-rate leaders so that Third World nations will remained enslaved. He may have had the money to study in Oxford, but surely there were many other candidates.

One needs the soft approach here. Some of them have barely reached puberty but they seems to find strength through numbers, and they attack like animals.

i have never met a mat rempit...r they male? female? bisexual? of which predominant racial background? r they born and bred malaysians? do they terrorise in cities or kampongs?

for what unearthly reason would the 'authorities' 'support' these gangsters?

unless of course...they r also USEFUL to the 'authorities' either as voters....or to do the dirty work of the 'authorities'...ie. causing havoc and threats to 'non-supporters'

Tak boleh charge for murder, simply because Mat Rempits are not Hindraf supporters. Plus, they are much needed during GE to be Beruk Nasional flag bearers. They are supported by Arm-No youth leaders. Breed evil and you get the devil! If the police cannot wipe out Rempits, what else are they good for..... besides using tear-gas and chemical-water canons on peaceful assemblers?

Instead of just impounding the bikes, how bout confiscating it and then destroying it as a form of punishment. Only a severe form of punishment would be a sufficient deterrent to these KJ supported gangsters from being involved in illegal and lie threatening activities.

Since the police is known to be corrupted, people are less fearful of them these days. To many people anything also can be settled with money, and they can become ruthless, lawless and daring.

It is time for the police who are wearing "Saya anti rasuah" to know the meaning on that attract badge they are wearing. It is better for them to say it loud and clear to any offender "saya anti rasuah" rather than just wearing the badge in which they forget the purpose of it.

Mat rempits can be that daring because they know one way or another most of the issues can be settled with money. When they do not have money to settle, they can become violent just to protect themselves perhaps.

The law enforcement officers must have pride and integrity to gain respect.

KJ needs these Mat Rempits, thus the police do not know how to deal with them.
He has forgotten that what goes round comes back to haunt us.
Soon he will learn that it is his society that is going to loose in the long run.

These Mat Rempits problems are not new. Yes, police have arrested them occasionally but their efforts are still not enough. They should put in more effort to tackle this problem rather than focussing on arresting those innocent rally participants. I hope with this incident, the police themselves being the victim of Mat Rempits, they will take more action to alleviate this problem

i wont say all Mat Rempits are snatch-thieves but i m sure all snatch-thieves are Mat Rempits!

i just overheard a news that 3 snatch-thieves were bailed-out!Why the judge did it,thousands of cases had happened and some caused innocent deaths dued to their gangsterism,and no sign of heavy punishments are given!Why are the judges so lenient to them?i m sadden by the judge's decision!

the only way to reduce the Mat Rempits and snatch-theives is to enforce WHIPPING to all of them once caught!

It looks like law and order is breaking down when young hoodlums dare to attack the police. Or have our Police been viewed as useless and toothless by these hoodlums?

It is no secret that crime is on the increase in our country. Rapes, murders, daylight robbery, you name it, even blowing up people with C4. But where are our Police?

Motorcylists are riding without lights on our highways, even in dimly-lit areas. Not only that, underaged boys and girls, who used to ride their bikes only in kampong roads, have now taken to riding on highways and expressways, and without wearing helmets and carrying pillion riders, too, confident that there will be no Police around to book and arrest them The police just do not see such a breakdown of law and order.

I suppose they are only on duty when the rakyat carry out protests on the streets. Then we can find them there in their thousands.
