KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 (Bernama) -- The Perlis Umno Liaison Committee has refuted party secretary-general Datuk Seri Radzi Sheikh Ahmad's claim that there was a crisis in Perlis Umno.
Its secretary, Datuk Che Sulaiman Shapie, said the committee held a meeting last night to discuss the matter."We reached a decision to reject allegations of a crisis in Perlis Umno," he said in a statement.
Two days ago, Radzi, who is also Kangar Member of Parliament, claimed that there was disunity in Perlis Umno and suggested a change in the state leadership.
Che Sulaiman said meeting also agreed that internal party problems were not to be discussed openly.
He said the Perlis Umno election machinery was ready to face the coming general election.
