MIC president Samy Vellu was booed and publicly humiliated when he turned up to officiate at the Aattam 100 Vagai 3 (100 types of dance) performance at the Penang International Sports Arena (Pisa) last night.
Sources tell me the crowd of 2,000-3,000 shouted obscenities at him including “po-dah” (the rude version of “get lost”) and he didn’t get a chance to complete his speech. One source told me he was surprised to hear that the women in the audience appeared more aggressive in admonishing Samy.
Bear in mind, this was a cultural event and not a political forum, so it would have been attended by a diverse crowd of Indian Malaysians - who have now become politically awakened as never before.
The event was supposed to be telecast “live” by Astro Vaanavil (Channel 201) and beamed to India, Singapore, Mauritius and Sri Lanka. Apart from Astro, the media partners supporting the dance show were Sri Lanka Rupavhini (TV) Corporation, Jaya TV India, Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation and Media-Corp TV12 Singapore Pte. Ltd. So Samy’s image in the region would have suffered more than a little dent.

I am so happy to see Samy vellu being booed! It's about time. He loves himself so totally and enjoys telling everyone how much he is doing for us all. What crap! He is getting what he deserves. Everyone must make it known that is a useless excuse for a human being.
I would love to be a fly on the wall and see what he gets up to when he is not in Malaysia. Does he spend his holiday on his land in India or visit the go go bars of New York or lay prone on a sunbed on an island somewhere where ordinary Malaysians cant see him enjoying the fruits of his ill gotten gains?

It is a myth propageted by Samy Vellu himself that he is the unchallenged leader of the Indian community in this country to hoodwink his political masters, the UMNO into believing that he deserves the support of the UMNO. Just like the UMNO, the MIC is not a democratically electeed party. The present leaders of these parties have entrenched their positions so securely that no other member of the party can successfully challenge them! How can a political party lay claim to be a 'democratic' party when the holders of the very top positions are 'anointed' and not elected in an open competition.
Samy Vellu can and will continue to claim that he is the leader of the Indian community in this country as long as he leads a 'gang' of persons who obediently follow him. In his so called 'political party' no dissent is tolerated by the leader and any member who dares to dissent is kicked out promptly. Now he is in India, spreading another myth that the citizens of Indian descent in this country are so prosperous that each is earning a thousand ringgits and that there are a large number of professionals such as lawyers, doctors, engineers etc. who are of Indian descent to create the false impression that all these professionals have been assisted by the Government to achieve such professional standing. May be the professional population is this country is so 'saturated' with Indians that four Indian lawyers that four of them can be detained under the ISA! The fact is that Samy Vellu is putting up a 'fight' to maintain his own political position in this country. Is there a really democratic country in this world where a minister in the government can continue to hold his position for more then 25 years except in Malaysia? He still has the temerity to claim that he has a 'number of unfinished agenda' which requires him to continue holding the position of a minister! Why can't he 'anoint' a successor to carry on the torch? In this country, there are any number of Indians more qualified them him who can make a more efficient and HONEST leader!

Although MIC had been in existence for more than 50 years, HINDRAF succeeded in highlighting the Malaysian Indian issues within ONE year.. This shows the weakness in the leadership of MIC. The problem with the Indian community is that they are the most disunited - divided along religious, language, caste, sociological levels, idealogies - look at the number of Indian societies, political parties, NGOs, etc. for 2 million people. Samy and his UMNO masters will seek to ensure that they remain divided. That's how they can control them. For once, a significant segment of the community has acted more cohesively and have shown Samy the exit door. Well done. Keep it up, my Indian brothers and sisters. If your representative does not have the capability to deliver, time for change certainly.
Its time that the rakyat (all races, all religions) captures back the power and control back from politicians, by making them accountable for delivery. Do not let politician's self-interests (via skillful manipulation of messaging) take precedence over the rakyat needs and interests.
Make sure (on an ever-lasting basis) that your governance is not competing against you

Samy should have left the political scene quietly while the going was good. He is just a repeat of history which has demonstrated to us how many 'leaders'have gone down unadmirably way past the twilight of their political career.
The state of MIC now being instructed by UMNO and advised by the UMNO Youth Chief to report back on Indian issues is really a big opportunity for UMNO to deflate Samy's ego, self worth and perhaps deliver the final blow to crush his political grip in MIC.

1)The Opposition will then have it much easier to win the election against Samy since the INDIAN said he is a liability like every one said.PROOF IT US YOU IN SG SIPUT BY VOTING UNCLE SAM OUT.
2)Do not make same mistake like in 2004 election when all Malaysian want TDM to resign and let ABB lead the BN.If you ask Uncle Sam to step down now there goes our chance to have 1 extra opposition MP.If a new person take over from Samy today I think the Indian will soften their stand like we did when ABB took over.
