1. Many people think that as soon as you accept democracy, then you will be practising democracy.

2. Unfortunately mere acceptance is not enough. It is not enough because everyone, from the top most person to the ordinary people, be they from a political party or of a nation, can find ways to abuse and frustrate the true democratic process. As a result we see democracies failing to work in most organisations or political parties and in many nations.

3. Basically democracy is about giving power to the majority. It is assumed that the majority knows what is best for the whole. The minority should therefore be prepared to accept the rule of the majority albeit after presenting opposing views and criticisms. The minority must be prepared to wait for the next election in order to make another bid.

4. In a mature democracy almost everyone respects the results of national elections. The majority forms the Government and the minority take their places in the legislature and try their best to influence policies and laws introduced by the majority Government. And so for the four or five years before the next elections, the legislature debates, approves or disapproves the proposals by the Government. But the minority and even the individual legislator may also move proposals or laws although in most instances they will not get through for lack of majority support. Playing their parts, both the majorty and the minority would contribute to the proper workings of a democratic Government.

5. Political parties love democracy as it seems to be fair to everyone. Anyone can bid for any place in the party, including the top most. That is the theory at least.

there is no democracy brother. if u being caught and jailed for something u never did, or u see guilt people being freed by law... where is democracy??? from law side, he found not guilty but people see him as guilty for what he did, many eyewitness but no prove.. do u think there is democracy?

Normally a person eats rice and what's left after digestion, comes out as shiit through the other end.

Democracy ala the Mamak is "Rongeng Ular Sawah" the snake dance..When he does the snake dance the rakyat gets the jampi and then he begins to swallow the rakyat..the oil money..make big projects etc. When the rakyat realized that he was swallowing them...he used ISA , OSA and when there was protest..he used the police to give the black eye...and the people became fearful..so he used fear and the threat of MAY 13 to win elections...If he has stayed one more term..he would have been kicked out....Now he needs protection..so he hides behind PERGASAH..

1. Our children's education has gone down the sewer ever since you became the education minister when we were once one of the highly respected and highly sought after and employable human resource by the MNCs ,
2. The country's riches were plundered and squandered on mega projects to appease your humongous ego. We have all the rich resources like petroleum, palm oil, rubber, timber etc and yet we are poorer than tiny little Singapore. Where did our money go????
3. The harmonious and respectful culture between the races were shredded to bits,
4. Tthe security of the nation is now so bad we have to hire our own guards and stay in gated communities,
5. You arranged for lowly educated foreigners to be given Mycards so that they will vote for you in appreciation,
6. Your sick joke of 'Bersih, Cekap Dan Amanah' has completely turned on it's head with the opposite effect
7. Racism and religious fanaticism is at an all time high and you are still continuing to support and fan these flames

But the doctrin of democracy does not provide you with the option to discriminate the minority, and you justified your practice of discrimination against the non-Malays by labelling it as " positive discrimination ".
When you face GOD one day not distant in the future, I am afraid, you would realise that GOD does not discriminate.

The fact is, what he has said in his entry here is true. Thats how democracy works. However, it is also based on the letter of the law and that is how Malaysia differs in governence to the rest of the civilised world. Case in point, what they are doing the Anwar, whereby the rules/law changes to suit the situation. Although, in this case I am talking about judicial law, the fact remains that if you can change judicial law to suit a situation whats to stop the government changing legislation to suit too.

People power is strong but if only a few go out there and ask for change, dont you think that anything will happen? Even in western democratic countries, that doesnt work quite that way. If there is enough support government will bend. In the final analysis, Malaysia's fight for democracy is just that, a fight. The fight has to be taken up by all sections of the population before something will happen. What the entry says is true. Majority rules. Unfortunately, right now, Malaysians are so fragmented that there will be no concensus on the democracy issue and it will stay that way till the people get it into their heads that sitting on the sideline is not the way to get change.

Sure, he's the best person to talk democracy in Malaysia. He knows the subject so well. Otherwise, he could not have succeeded in screwing up democracy like nothing during his tenure as PM! In fact, most Malaysians didn't even realise then there was a devious dictator ruling the country! That's how good and democratic he was!
