So Guan Eng came out with the story that the Barisan Nasional government stole the RM18 billion GST money to explain why the government has no money instead of admitting they made a mistake by zeroing the GST.

Lim Guan Eng says the Barisan Nasional government stole RM18 billion of the RM19 billion GST money.

Najib Tun Razak says the RM18 billion has not been stolen and is still there.

Businessmen are saying they have not yet been refunded their GST claims and Guan Eng says the government cannot pay the GST refunds because the money has disappeared.

The truth is, because the GST has been zeroed since end May, the government has so far lost about RM10 billion in revenue. So the government has been using this RM18 billion GST money to cover the government’s expenses plus Bank Negara has had to pump money into the market to support the Ringgit which otherwise would drop to RM4.50 to the Dollar without support.
