Will Tommy Thomas be another Mohtar Abdullah and Gani Patail?

That was all 20 years ago from 1998 to 2000 and it was a set of four different judges and AGs. But it was still the same old Prime Minister then and now, Mahathir. So why should the present judge and AG be any different? Let us see whether Tommy Thomas is really a ‘good Christian’ like he pretends to be or whether he is just another pariah like all those others before him.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Anwar Ibrahim was the first Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister to be charged in court and Najib Razak is the first Prime Minister to suffer that same fate. And what do Anwar and Najib have in common? No, they are not both gay, if that is what you thought. They both opposed Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

There are other Deputy Prime Ministers and Prime Ministers (plus Chief Ministers, Menteri Besar and Cabinet Ministers) who have been accused of corruption, worse than ‘stealing’ just RM42 million, but they did not go against Mahathir. So, they were not brought to court to be charged for a criminal offence.

Justice Arifin Jaka found Anwar guilty of sodomy in a building that had not been built yet and after the victim testified THREE TIMES that Anwar never sodomised him

It was as Datuk Harun Idris, the infamous Selangor Menteri Besar of the 1960s-1970s, told the Umno Supreme Council in 1975. He said, if corruption is really the issue, half the Cabinet would be going to jail together with him. His real crime, he said, is that he wanted to become Prime Minister so he was a threat they wanted to remove.

Mahathir later arranged for Harun to be pardoned by His Majesty the Agong because Mahathir knew Harun was the victim of political persecution and he did not take the bribe or benefited from it although the money was paid to Umno by the foreign bank.

Yes, that’s right, a foreign bank bribed Umno and Mahathir knew that many banks and companies, both local and foreign, pay Umno money for favours. That was how Umno financed its political activities — as do the political parties in Pakatan Harapan and other Barisan Nasional parties. They collect ‘donations’ in exchange for favours. And this is done all over the world.

Justice Augustine Paul was a staunch church-going Christian alcoholic whose son was a drug addict

Anyway, most Malaysians are of the opinion that Anwar was fixed up by two Attorney-Generals, Mohtar Abdullah and Gani Patail. Most Malaysians also believe that the judges, Arifin Jaka and Augustine Paul, were also crooked or at the very least instructed to send Anwar to jail.

Other than Gani, all the other three have since died. It is said the fourth, due to health reasons, may soon join the other three. Well, as one DAP leader said, they need four people to play mahjong in the Afterlife.

Attorney-General Mohtar Abdullah was about a year in a coma before he died at age 58

The Mohtar-Gani-Arifin-Augustine tag-team was said to have fixed Anwar up on fabricated charges and in a rigged trial. It was a comedy of errors from the word ‘go’. For example, Anwar was charged for sodomising someone in a building that had not been built yet. The judge said although the witness had lied that does not mean you cannot believe his testimony. The judge also said he finds Anwar guilty of the crime he was charged under because Anwar had failed to prove his innocence.

One of the witnesses, the Special Branch Director, when asked whether he would lie under oath, replied if the Prime Minister instructed him to then he would. And then the judge still accepted his testimony. The victim of Anwar’s sodomy, when asked whether Anwar had sodomised him, replied ‘no’. Anwar’s lawyer then repeated the question in case he did not understand the question and again he replied no.

Three times the so-called sodomy victim said Anwar never sodomised him but Anwar was still found guilty of sodomising someone who testified three times he was NOT sodomised. Furthermore, according to the evidence, the sexual acts had taken place on the mattress a few years ago, and yet the DNA evidence obtained from it were rather recent in age.

Azizan testified THREE TIMES that Anwar DID NOT sodomise him but the judge still found Anwar guilty

Many believe the evidence was planted on the mattress much later after the date of the alleged act. In fact, there is no evidence that the DNA sample was Anwar’s in the first place.

The key witness, Azmin Ali, testified that the Special Branch officers had gone to Anwar’s office and requested to meet Anwar. They insisted they meet Anwar, although Azmin told them Anwar was busy, because they had something very important to tell Anwar. Anwar was then found guilty of abusing his power for ‘summoning’ the Special Branch officers to his office when it was the other way around.

Yes, that and more was what happened and all those who followed the trial saw that the evidence was fabricated, the witnesses lied, the ‘victim’ denied he was a victim of a sex act, and the trial was rigged in a kangaroo court. And this was the work of four people, Mohtar, Gani, Arifin and Augustine — two judges and two AGs.

Gani Patail fixed up Anwar in a rigged trial and with fabricated evidence and was rewarded with the post of Attorney-General

This was what The Guardian UK reported on 8th August 2000:

Malaysia’s former deputy prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim, was found guilty of sodomy today and sentenced to nine years in prison, the culmination of his two-year battle against what he has called a political conspiracy against him.

Before sentencing, 52-year-old Anwar accused his one-time mentor, the prime minister, Mahathir Mohamad, of using the judiciary to destroy him, and vowed to keep fighting for democracy from jail.

After sentencing, Anwar said, “You have to be realistic. Bloody, rotten judiciary. I can’t blame him. He’s just following orders.”

Anyone who opposes Mahathir gets sent to jail even on fabricated evidence and in a rigged trial

Human Rights Watch described the verdict as ‘another blow to justice in Malaysia’. Joe Saunders, the group’s deputy Asia director, said, “What has happened to Anwar and his supporters highlights the fragility of rights there. If you’re out of favour with the political leadership, no matter how high you might rise in the movement, you have very little protection. This is a real step backwards for Malaysia.”

That was all 20 years ago from 1998 to 2000 and it was a set of four different judges and AGs. But it was still the same old Prime Minister then and now, Mahathir.
