MACC urged to probe land deals approved by former FT minister

Lim said he had lodged a report over 64 plots of land which were supposedly sold by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) while under the purview of former FT minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan.

(MMO) – Federal Territory (FT) MPs want the Malaysia Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate shady land deal transactions which were approved by the previous FT administration.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng said he had lodged a report over 64 plots of land which were supposedly sold by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) while under the purview of former FT minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

“Most of these plots of land were sold without an open tender, and I have come to understand most of the prices were set below the market price,” he said during a press conference at the KL MACC headquarters along Jalan Cochrane today.

“The figure we want investigated is the one approved these 64 land plot deals, the prime suspect is Tengku Adnan.

We do not know who else might be involved,” said Lim.

Also present during the press conference was Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh, and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s Kepong Division chief Datuk Mazlan Hashim.

Among the other inconsistencies Lim alleged were the failure by some developers to pay premiums to DBKL when transferring or changing the types of land ownership, and that plots were sold without having gone through a valuation report.
