Pakatan Harapan is going to get slaughtered in the Malay States

In Malay politics it is very crucial that the Istana is not against you. It does not matter if the Istana does not support you or is neutral, but the Istana cannot be against you. If the Istana is against you then the Malays will also be against you. So there goes your so-called Malay Tsunami that you need to win the general election. And watch the top guns of Pakatan Harapan get slaughtered in Johor and many other Malay states.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Yesterday, Malaysiakini reported as follows:

Jailed de facto opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has described Umno’s claims of being protectors of the royal institution as “false propaganda,” pointing to Putrajaya’s refusal to restore the mandatory royal assent requirement for new parliamentary bills.

“I am appalled by the stand taken by Umno on this issue. It proves their constant claims that they are protectors of the royal institution and the interests of Malays are nothing but false propaganda to hoodwink the Malays into supporting Umno-BN,” he said in a statement.

Johor is going to remain Kubu Umno or the bastion of Umno, hinted the Johor Palace

Yesterday, also, the Tungku Mahkota of Johor, HRH Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim, said do not be fooled by a forked tongue individual:

“Johor state will never forget that individual who tried to disband the Johor Military Force (JMF), an organisation that has stood since 1886 and that same time, dreaming of diminishing the Sultan’s power, belittling our constitution that has been here since before the inception of the country called Malaysia.”

What is not clear here: is Anwar attacking Umno or is he attacking Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad? On 4th January 2018, The Malaysian Insight reported Anwar as saying he wants to restore the mandatory requirement for the assent of the Agong to enable a bill to become law. But then it was Anwar, together with Mahathir, who in the first place removed the powers of the Agong and the State Rulers 35 years ago in 1983 (READ MORE BELOW).

Anwar and Mahathir removed the veto powers of the Rulers in 1983 so that power can be concentrated in the hands of the Prime Minister

Yes, in 1983, Anwar and Mahathir took on the Raja-Raja Melayu and dragged them through the mud. Before that Malaysia was unique in that it had four branches of government — the Executive, the Legislature, the Judiciary and the Monarchy. These four branches of government offered checks and balances so that no one branch could do what it likes.

As soon as Mahathir took over as Prime Minister, he started to remove the powers of the Legislature, the Judiciary and the Monarchy so that absolute power could be concentrated in the hands of the Executive. And Anwar helped Mahathir achieve this with the attacks on the Rulers all through the mid-1980s.

Anwar is a fake. He is as fake as Mahathir is pro-gay. Anwar hates royalty as much as Mahathir hates gays. Anwar is worried because the 1983 amendments to the Federal Constitution of Malaysia were made using the Johor Palace as the excuse. In other words, Malaysians were told that the Federal Constitution of Malaysia needs to be amended because of Sultans such as the Sultan of Johor.

Mahathir can no longer push the Rulers around like he did 35 years ago in 1983

Because of the Sultan of Johor, the powers of the Monarchy need to be removed or reduced, argued Anwar and Mahathir. The Sultan of Johor is an evil Sultan so HRH cannot be allowed too much power, explained Anwar and Mahathir. And on that excuse Malaysians supported the removal of the powers of the Monarchy 35 years ago.

Now Pakatan Harapan needs the goodwill and the good office of the Their Highnesses the Sultans and His Majesty the Agong. But the ten Monarchs do not support Pakatan Harapan. And that is mainly because of what Mahathir did in his 22 years as Prime Minister plus the fact that he is a stooge or kuda of the Chinese DAP.

DAP and Pakatan Harapan want to conquer Johor and make it the third Pakatan Harapan state after Penang and Selangor. But that is not going to happen and Johor is going to be Pakatan Harapan’s Waterloo. The top guns of DAP and PPBM are going to get wiped out in Johor, just like the top guns of PAN are going to get wiped out in Kelantan and Terengganu.

In Malay politics it is very crucial that the Istana is not against you. It does not matter if the Istana does not support you or is neutral, but the Istana cannot be against you. If the Istana is against you then the Malays will also be against you. So there goes your so-called Malay Tsunami that you need to win the general election. Mahathir vs the Malay Rulers

By October 1983, Malaysians were becoming aware that a constitutional crisis was in full swing. The Constitution (Amendment) Bill 1983 had been passed by both houses of Parliament, but the King, under pressure from his fellow rulers, was refusing to give his Royal Assent to it.

The bill would remove the need for the King to assent to legislation and would similarly do away with the need for Sultans to assent to State laws. It would also take away the King’s power to declare an Emergency and give it to the Prime Minister.

The Rulers publicly rejected these amendments after a meeting in Selangor on Nov 20, 1983. When the public became aware that a storm was brewing, Dr Mahathir’s administration initiated a propaganda war to put pressure on the Rulers.

For the first time in the history of our Constitution, a Bill became law without the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. This was when the National Security Council Act 2016 (NSC Act), passed by the two Houses last December, was gazetted on June 7 without royal assent. This draws attention to the complex constitutional procedures for enacting laws and specifically to Article 66 (4A), which permits the Government to bypass the King.

Don’t oppose my bid to restore Agong’s powers, Anwar tells Putrajaya

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim urged Putrajaya not to oppose his bid to restore the power of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, following his application to nullify three laws passed without the assent of the Agong. The jailed Pakatan Harapan de facto leader said the application, filed on January 2, was intended to restore the mandatory requirement for the assent of the Agong to enable a bill to become law.

On Tuesday, Anwar’s lawyer N. Surendran said an amendment to Article 66 of the constitution in 1994 allowed the Agong to be bypassed in the passing of laws. The restoration of the mandatory requirement of the royal assent is imperative to maintain the constitutional balance between an elected government and hereditary monarchy, Anwar said today.
