Rais, Rafidah have a grudge against present govt, says Nazri Aziz

(THE SUN DAILY) – Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz claimed former ministers Tan Sri Rais Yatim and Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz are “frustrated people” following their statements on 1Malaysia Development (1MDB).

“When we talk about the same government that they were members of the Cabinet … so … let them say (as they wish).

“I mean, the election is coming, obviously these are frustrated people … (they have) been a minister for more than 10 years … obviously, they still hold a grudge against the present leadership, so let them ‘meroyan’,” he told reporters here today.

“Meroyan” is a Malay term used to describe women who experience post-partum depression after giving birth.

Nazri was asked to comment on remarks made by the two former ministers.

Rais Yatim had dismissed claims by Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak that he had been influenced by social media users about businessman Low Taek Jho, otherwise known as Jho Low.

“The communications minister should not sarcastically claim that I may have been influenced by statements about the investigation against Jho Low. I am not in that category (of people),” he reportedly said.

Rafidah, meanwhile, claimed she managed to locate the luxury yacht “Equanimity” in waters off Phuket, Thailand last year.

On her Facebook, she posted photos and videos that she took of the yacht, which has been linked to personalities surrounding 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

Meanwhile, Nazri said he is confident of maintaining his Padang Rengas parliamentary seat.

“They (PKR) have always been confident since 1999. It’s all right. Of course, when you want to come into a boxing ring, you have to be confident.

“How can you enter a fight and say I’m not going to give a good fight. No way!”
