Is Raja Petra playing a game of high-stakes poker? That is the million-dollar question and there is no apparent answer.

Malik Imtiaz Sarwar, The Malay Mail

WHETHER the unprecedented SAPP motion of no confidence is going to be tabled for debate appears to have been edged out as the question of the hour by whether there is any substance in Raja Petra's incendiary Statutory Declaration on the killing of Altantunya that hit the Internet late last
week.

The Statutory Declaration, a sworn statement under law which makes a false statement a criminal offence, alleges amongst other things that Raja Petra was reliably informed that a very prominent VVIP, together with two other persons, was at the scene of the crime, the former witnessing the placing of explosives by one of the two others. He further alleges that the Prime Minister received a written report of the matter from Military Intelligence.

Needless to say, there is some measure of incredulity on the part of some who suggest that Raja Petra of Malaysia Today fame has a tendency towards sensationalism.

They question the manner in which the information was made public and the fact that Raja Petra did not lodge a police report.

Others have been less quick to brush aside the matter, more confident of Raja Petra having a foundation for the Declaration. A very public figure whose advocacy in the run up to the last General Election is credited by many as one of the swing factors, he is already facing a sedition charge for an Internet publication on the Altantunya trial. And all things said and done, a statutory declaration is a very different thing from commentary on Malaysia Today.

Is Raja Petra playing a game of high-stakes poker? That is the million-dollar question and there is no apparent answer.

In the Declaration, Raja Petra states that its purpose is to allow the police to conduct a proper and thorough investigation to allow the truth to emerge. The persons he has identified have not been implicated nor called as witnesses in the on-going murder trial.

They have as yet to issue any public denials, seemingly choosing to remain silent.

Surprisingly, the Prime Minister has chosen to do so as well; one would think circumstances compel him at the very least to take a public stand on whether Military Intelligence did give him a report.

If founded, the apparent lack of investigation into the matter raises doubts as to not only the culpability of the accused but of whether they have been accorded their full “due-process” rights in law.

They also equally point to the possibility of those actually or equally responsible having been let off free.

These bring into question the effectiveness and integrity of the criminal justice system and further erode the already seriously undermined administration of justice. The Declaration is as such a matter of great public importance.

Whatever the case, it is imperative that the government must take appropriate steps to not only look into the matter fairly and thoroughly, but also be seen to be doing so in a transparent manner.

The machinery for an investigation seems to have been fired up. However, in light of a media report that the Attorney-General's Chambers has lodged a police report against Raja Petra, apparently for criminal defamation, I am concerned that the focus of the exercise will be Raja Petra rather than the substance of his allegations in a manner reminiscent of the Irene Fernandez affair.

In Fernandez's case, a defamation report was lodged against her after she made public shocking revelations about goings-ons at the Semenyih detention facility, then under the control of the Royal Malaysia Police. This resulted in Fernandez being prosecuted and ultimately convicted. Significantly, investigations into the events at Semenyih were incidental to the only formal investigations that took place, the investigation for criminal defamation.

I have grave reservations about the Attorney-General's Chambers having lodged the police report. It is more usually the person aggrieved, especially where defamation is concerned, that lodges the report.

In this case, it should have been the persons identified in the Statutory Declaration, if at all. Furthermore, the Attorney-General is the legal adviser to the government and serves its interests and not those of individuals, notwithstanding their having a connection with government.

It is also mystifying how the Attorney-General could have formed the view that the Declaration was defamatory before apparently even looking into the allegations, more so in light of the Inspector General of Police declaring that the police would be calling up the three individuals named in the Declaration.

One would have thought that the Attorney-General would have considered the matter as whole first before directing the lodging of the police report. This and the fact of theAttorney-General's Chambers not having lodged a parallel report as to the fact of the allegations are suggestive of a presupposition that the declaration is false.

If so, this may impede the objective enquiry called for by the situation. This would be wrong.

After March 8 this year, the Prime Minister in effect said that the government had to listen to the rakyat more.

The rakyat has demanded accountability and transparency.

The murkiness surrounding the killing of Altantunya has long been and continues to be the subject of public discussion in part due to her father's tireless campaign for nothing more than the bringing to book of the killers of his daughter.

The fact of his having to do so is an indictment against this nation.

Let the truth emerge. One way or the other, let it out.

Malik,
Why do you think RPK has to resort to making such a SD? Simple. There is no other avenue 'legally' open to him to expose the wrong doings of the high and mighty in this country. RPK realized that there is no way he can seek justice for the victim's family except through 'unconventional means' - thus the SD.

There is a preponderance of evidence to indicate that there is more than meets the eye - the granting of bail for murder, the change of judge and the prosecution team, the erasure of immigration records and availability of C4 explosives, Razak's affidavit, the link between the accused and the VIPs, the lethargic trial, and finally the motive for the killing.

When the police force, judiciary and the AG lack credibility and integrity what is there left for the common man to seek redress or to right a wrong? Surely, unconventional means. I can bet with you that any police investigations on this SD will end in a big yawn.

Now, there is also a royalty in the know. Why? Is this RPK's insurance? When US presidential candidates have to reply to simple allegations made against them, I see no reason why the PM and his deputy cannot to this one. If No say 'NO', damn it! Tongues are wagging and their characters have been called to question. There may not be guilty but they ought to answer RPK's SD. Silence will damn them even further.

I have another question. Why should the AG lodge a report against RPK on this SD? Is it any of his business? His statement on the RPK's SD is confrontational, biased and discriminatory. He has already pronounced RPK guilty. In fact, he is also an interested party in the allegations, albeit indirectly. His present antagonistic stance gives more credence to an attempt to smother than expose wrong doers.

The problem is, the AG, the IGP, the PM and his deputy all have their personal stakes in this case. This is a powerful camp. A camp which has the wherewithal to cover up and destroy any truth that will incriminate them. They can even cover a mountain with an umbrella or transform a horse into a donkey. They will use a hammer to kill a fly if need be.... to protect their interests. In this country there are too many who are above the law.

Didn't you not say this country is ungovernable the other day?

All Malaysian, all Allah, god loving people, this is so very clear now !
1) Rule #1, Rumour in Malaysia usually are truth,
2) rule #2, if in doubt, refer to rule #1.
This is very clear now, the rumour that VVIP, the Najisb, is involve in the murder of the Altantuya, why ? if they are not guilty, why keep quite for so many days,
even the statutory declaration is out !
The people mentioned in the god send RPK statutory Declaration, I am very confident in RPK, because he got ball, and why should he do something not reliable ? he RPK has been right in many many prediction, and many rumours, and
I believe he is man of character, and reliable, as a Royalty, he dont have to lie and bohong to rakyats,

As such, whatever said in RPK statutory Declaration, has proven the rumour all these while, why should anyone point finger at this VVIP ? why not point finger at Paklah ? why not point finger at Rais, why not point finger at Dr M ? why not others ? why Najisb ? Rumour said its Najisb ? why rumour said This VVIP ? because rumour are usually true, and it's probably true.
So, we all, must see that Paklah will do the justice, Paklah will make sure the judiciary reform, Paklah will make sure that there is no corruption for this particular case of Altantuyah ? why ? this is to make sure he really listen to the rakyat, that want judiciary reform, so if Najisb is involve in this case,
he will have to face the music, go to jail if needed,
so, the agreement is for Najisb to take over the PM in 2010, but then if this case is true, it's another matter, Paklah will want the truth nothing but the truth ! so the FBI, Scotland Yard, all the resources will be put in to find out the truth !
This will show that the real person behind this ? please stand up, they go and put RPK in the jail, put him under the sedition charges, this is to threaten or to shut up RPK mouth, but then, he forgot RPK got balls, big balls,
he got nothing to lose, same thing now, Paklah got nothing to lose,
not its time to get the IGP to check and find out what is the truth ?
did Najisb, vvip involve in the murder ?

interview Paklah, did you get the military secret information that talk about this murder ?
interview : ask KJ, Khairy ask him did he keep the written information ?
interview : Najisb wife, see whether she is there in the scene of the murder ?
interview : ask the C-4 bomb of the military Aziz Bujong ? did he do it ?
interview : ask the wife of the Aziz Bujong, is she there in the scene ?

you can cheat and bluff, some people some of the times, you can not cheat all the people all the time,
the truth will come out,
the truth will surface,
if you do it, it will tell ! time is in our side, we will know the truth,
or else, Najisb, sure will fight or get rid of the Paklah already, this is sure
that Najisb, he got something to hide, so he got no choice, need Paklah to hide all the dirty proof !
we rakyat, wait for the real truth, we must get to the truth !
RPK, is the greatest human being, with integrity, with fairness, great guy !
hidup RPK !
we all must vote for this RPK. vote for change, pay attention to malaysian politic

When Abdullah started as PM, he rode upon high public approval and rating. But the failures of his administration haunt him now. No, he didn’t commit murder. No he didn’t commit perjury. No, he didn’t break police laws.

When Dr Mahathir started, he was the ideal man, visionary, hardworking and clean. Now look at the way history look at him.

Now it is the Deputy Prime Minister and the Prime Minister in waiting.

Before ascending to the “throne” he is tinted with many questions. What sort of Prime Minister would he be? Corruption & corruption, and now with a wife that the public eyes with more questions. He has denied it – but denial a thousand times had never provided the answers. Some of the questions are as simple as One plus One equals how much, yet that question is brushed out. The immigration, the police, the AG – all failed to provide answers. Now the PM and his famous SIL got into the list.

SOmehow the real answer will surface 5 or 10 years down the line. Would that answer be what we want to remember our "leaders" by?

Can RPK lodge a police report against AG for defamation against him?... due mostly from police report of criminal defamation lodged against rpk.

The content of the SD has not been investigated, the validity unsure....how can they sum it up as criminal defamation? Wouldn't it constitute defamation against RPK?

Let's change the "prominent figure" in the SD to a "not-so-prominent" one, will there still be criminal defamation element?

AAB gormen rule not by love and spport from the rakyat but by intimidation and threat on their rivals and so-called allies, using the gormen machinery like the AG, ACA, the police, courts, LHDN and customs and even mainstream media.

Yong Teck Lee showed his dissent against the PM, straight away, new evidence in court triggered by DPP in the Kasitah Gadam case, against Yong. Najib is tainted with the C4 Altantuya case but no evidence in court raised since Najib is good boy and submissive to PM AAB. IF he challenged for the PM post, all hell will be released. Now that is made clear by YM RPK's revelation that a military intelligence report and therefore Najib's hairy heirloom are in AAB's hand and therefore opt to shut up.

Ong Ka Ting does not have the machinery but want to play this game. So he employs his own dog, Liow Tion Lai, now minister of health in his own snoop squad game against his MCA "enemies". But Ong is a small child in the adult world of politics where AAB is the old cunning fox with all the power to make dirty little boys like Najib's life miserable. When each was hauled up to appear before the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI), each of them put up an act befitting an Oscar-winner for buffoonery

AAB, your job, should you decide to accept it, is to find the murderers.

Dengar sini betul2; FIND THE MURDERERS.

This is not massive corruption, cheating, cronyism, lying, main-puki etc..

A life was taken, find the murderers, Pak Lah. This man must be deaf; can someone please tell this sleepy man what is happening, has happened, please someone... anyone?? Jeanne?

Scotland Yard & FBI should be invited to jointly investigate the SD.

If earlier trial is declared a mis-trial & DNATA , further transparent details probing is required by Scotland Yard & FBI .

I beg to differ. What is the point of hiring the best when Najib himself is NOT even allowed to be questioned? This is a joke!!!!!!

Isn't it a bit out of character that the bitch didn't fly off the handle? If she can call HH The Sultan and give him a earful she can do anything; like chew out RKP or worse. How come she hasn't, nor her husband. If they are not guilty, they will naturally be aggrieved. If they do what educated people do they will get a lawyer to handle this immediately and get all sorts of Court injunctions to stop RKP from doing further damage. They would sue him till kingdom come! If she reverts to her high animal instincts she would have done something to RKP by now.
Their silence is telling.
Then we have the stupid PM come out to meekly defend his deputy. His action definitely affirms that he is no PM material. Boy did he fall into RKP's trap like a blue fly in a dump of wet shit.
In poker when your opponent draws an ace and you want to stay in the game if you have a good hand, you raise the stakes as high as possible. But the PM threw in a $2 chip. Sure to get creamed here.
This is like taking candy from a kid. Go RKP!

IMHO, the erasure of Immigration records alone is sufficient to indicate very high level involvement in the Government. THink about it, it's definitely not the DG of Immigrations (or whatever he's called in that position) doing on his own accord; someone in his position surely wouldn't trade his "pension" for "initiative", would he?. He's just a worker-bee, carrying out the biddings of his political masters (or of a queen bee perhaps?).

"I'm sick and tired of hearing things
I've had enough of reading things
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth"

(paraphrased from John Lennon's Gimme Some Truth)

And indeed, who will give us the truth? The politicians? The keepers of the law? The AG? Raja Petra?

After almost a week, the worms are crawling out of the can! Najis says it is all garbage, Big Momma kept her elehant, sorry elegant, silence, Pee Emm denies having received report, Kera Jantan says he is consulting his lawyers (did he or did he not receive the report for safekeeping?), Pigtail lodges polis report, Moosa Hentam says it is subjudice, so on and so forth, etc, etc. I am totally confused! What is happening to this country?
