Why Mahathir HATES Pak Lah PDF Print E-mail

Mahathir has no friends. He doesn't like people. There are only two things he really likes: Power and Money.

Way back after the Tunku had fallen from grace, a Star interview quoted him as remarking that he 'doesn't like doing business with Malays because they are bad paymasters. I prefer doing business with the Chinese'. Mahathir is also petty to the extreme and a racist. At one general elections, he had a staff removed from the operations room of the Elections Commission because he was the only Chinese and  non-Muslim in the room.

However his hatred of the Chinese does not extend beyond those Chinese who have money. Thus his best pals consisted of Vincent Tan Chee Yiuon and Francis Yeo of YTL. The close relationship with the latter got him a free ticket to a live Pavarotti show. He speaks disdainfully of others like Sir Robert Kuok, who 'doesn't do business in Malaysia', a brazen lie of course. Kuok is the smart one really, he moves his money to Hong Kong/China, away from the long arms of Mahathir.

He is fond only of mega projects, and under his rule, there were many. Why mega projects only? Because small projects you get small commission. Mega projects = mega commission.
Which is why he was totally consumed with rage when Pak Lah cancelled his unfinished mega projects, like the crooked bridge, which Mahathir wanted built no matter if it was only half-way and didn't reach Singapore on the other side. Here we are talking about projects worth billions of ringgit. Just imagine a commission of 10% or even 5% ? And he has already kow-tim the contractors. He could see all that amount of money simply disappearing into thin air. Worse still, he could imagine the commissions going to Pak Lah, at a later date or when the projects are revived after he (Mahathir) died. Grrrrrrr.

But he is not giving up. Still trying, and will probably tell his sons to continue after he dies. Which is why he wants to talk to Najib urgently. He wants to tell Najib to do another May 13 and seize power from Pak Lah just as Najib's father had done on Mahathir's suggestion to seize power from the Tunku. But Najib would wave the keris and threaten the Chinese or have sex with some singer in Port Dickson, but he wouldn't be fool enough to listen to this mad man and usurp power in such an ungentlemanly manner. That's why Mahathir started insulting Najib by calling him 'coward' and probably some other fouls words as well.

His mentor, Lee Kuan Yew, taught him how to hold on to power and how to rule with an iron fist. Mahathir got everything right, but he cannot understand why he cannot wield power and control   over over the government after he retired, like Lee Kuan Yew.

He is increasinly desperate because he knows he can die anytime. And desperate people will do desperate things. Failing to frighten Pak Lah and force Najib, there is nobody he can trust. He now turn to play his last card. Racism. He is making increasingly racial statements, hoping that it would force some kind of "incident", so that he can somehow take advantage of, to come back into power, directly or indirectly. Ideally through Mukriz,of course.

Nobody can pay him enough money to compensate his "losses", if at all there was anyone who want to. So we can look forward to more and more racial statements as well as from other sources that he can persuade, perhaps with a bit of money.

If there are any more racial disturbances, Mahathir will be glad to take credit for it again. He will challenge anybody to take him to court again to let him have his day. Param is correct. Lock this nut up under the ISA.

I bet we can get this fact right - SM Lee Kuan Yew takes more and better care of the Malays in Singapore than TDM of the non-Malays in Malaysia. The Singaporeans know it. Malaysians know it too. Never compare these two personalities. Mr.Lee (no Datuk whatsoever) is a true pure-bred leader. Tun is bordering himself as another one of the many local desperate sunset politicians.

Ezam, this is a chance to prove what you are worth for what you are after joining UMNO. And, if you sincerely intends to reform ACA and clean up corruption. Take control of ACA and investigate whatever wrong doings this senile old man had done when he ruled the country for 22 years.

After that investigate Rafidah, Samy Velu, Najib and the whole lot... I thought you have 6 boxes of documents? Than use it!

If not, you are the same as Pak lah.... "cakap tak serupa bikin, janji palsu".

We are sick of people who made empty promises!

You are spot on.....he is a very selective racist. Those with money are his best of friends irrespective of racial background. Though TDM has done some things for the country, I am of the opinion that he could have done much more if he is not so radical. He antagonize the bumi of performances and with the racial undertone that the non-bumis are stealing right under their noses. The recent GE, reveals that not all bumis are stupid as protrayed by TDM and other racist in BN. The bumis has come to a stage that they are able to compete head on with the world.
Like the saying goes...you rule by the sword and you die by the sword.

The Fareast Friend has the cajones to say it the way it should be said.

But locking up the old man under ISA wouldn't do any good.

If AAB is TRULY sincere in making changes, he should just dismantle UMNO and revamp whole system for a fairer and progressive way forward for the country. Then AAB would truly be remembered as the Father of Modern Malaysia.

Eric Chia of UMW & Perwaja was also his supporter and good friend from way back - when TDM was "only" Education Minister.

Why did the then Edu Min attend important events hosted by UMW, a company not an education institution?

Why was the huge losses of Perwaja swept under the carpet? ie Eric Chia is not charged?

Be careful TDM...you have too many dead men's bones (skeletons)in yr closet and not enough live ones!

How do I know about UMW? EVERYONE who worked in UMW in the "old" days knew this!!

I like the writer because he is anti-Mahathir. Some new stories which I have not heard beforenhave been revealed. Only disagreement is the story that LKY is Mahathir's mentor. This is wrong. Tun Mamak did not like LKY simply because LKY was more respected by any leader in the world. Tun Mamak had to pay for a photo opportunity with President Bush. LKY, Goh Chok and even Lee Hsien Loong are very well received in Washington and the white house. Mahathir may have only seen the white house as visitor from outside. Mamak's ego has been bruised to no end for this reason.

Remember mamak is neither a Malay or a gentleman. He is an ego maniac who just wants power and money. You are spot on in this analysis. Without power and its trappings he loses sleep, misses a heart beat now and then and gets extremly depressed. I wish him more of these miseries!

Firstly I am disillusioned by TDM. I thought he was a genius. He has proven again that he is not a genius but an evil genius or self centred person. Firstly he wants 30 or so mps to move over to being independent mps. Which may include umno mca and mic. Chances are umno mps. If that happens the gov will become weak. But then the pm has options too:-
1. use the party whip to remove their membership,
2. and if he is still able to command the majority of the mps in parliament (nb bn is still having talks with Pas etc...) the gov of the day need not resign, but it would be rough to continue.
3. If PKR comes into power, the 30 odd mps would be in limbo, as they are not supposed to join the oppo. In fact PKR would be stronger. which naturally means the 30 mps will lose big. BN can start canvassing early at all their constitiuncy to topple them.
4. If the pm calls for dissolution, they would not be under the BN ticket. And in the election there will be 3 cornered fights.
5. Totally not beneficial to the 30 odd mps to become independent. I think that even Mukhriz will not leave UMNO for that matter. Unless money plays a role. I don't think TDM will stoop so low.
So, why is TDM asking for this scenario, does he hate the people in umno to break up umno, to topple umno, or to escape the clutches of the law. To save the malays seems ridiculous because if he wants to he should not ask them to leave but he should actually bring in more mps (as ezam was brought in...). Strategist or Destroyer

TDM only cares about power. He has not had the powers which he possessed for more than the 22 years that we refer to as the “Dark ages of Malaysia”. He is power crazy. He seeks the cheap recognition and wants to be known as the best PM and Statesman ever. He wants to have a control over the present and all future PMs. He does not recognise that the PM is independent of any kind of influence that TDM may exert.

After several years of tolerance, AAB decided to draw the line and walk out of the sphere of control from TDM. All the racial, religious, corruption, Judicial independence, phantom voters, unfair election commission etc., etc., etc. are the doings of his regime, during the 22 years of the dark ages of TDM's rule. TDM is aware that the present generation of Malaysians blame and curse him for all the havoc of those 22 years of "the dark ages of Malaysia". Yes! He was responsible for the developments. Development alone means nothing to people because it alone is not the governance the people looked forward to. TDM wanted to satisfy the UMNO Malays alone. It took the grass roots UMNO Malays more than 22 years to visualise that the ordinary Malays were almost the same as they were in the 1960s. The Malays who were gaining were TDM's cronies. By far the Malays in the Kampongs are no better than the 1960s. However he satisfied them by marginalising the non-Malays, especially the Indians.

How pathetic it was that my nephews during the "dark 22 years" could not pursue their studies further because of racial discrimination. My nephews' neighbour’s son, an UMNO Malay with lesser grades in his MCE or SPM entered University Malaya but my nephew with far better grades was rejected. If you don't want to call that as being racist, than what would you call that?

The PR Malays realised this with the help of Raja Petra, DSAI, LKS, Hadi Awang, Nik Aziz etc. hence they voted the BN/UMNO out of the 5 States. TDM is now aware of his follies of the "dark 22 years" and that of AAB's rejection of TDM's racialist vision and that of the closing in of the Opposition PR, has now decided to go for one more last round to push his ultra racialist agenda to gain the support of the remaining UMNO ultras in order to fulfill his selfish racialist appetite. TDM has the support of the UMNO ultras like that of Najib, Ali Rustam, Krishamuddin, etc.

Pakatan Rakyat is the people’s last hope! At all cause and costs, TDM, AAB, NAJIB, ALI RUSTAM etc together with UMNO, MCA, MIC, Gerakan etc must wiped out of the political scenario of the Future Malaysia.

TDM has managed to developed the country, true enough. But that itself is a hollow boast when the development is all about the (then) tallest skyscraper, the longest bridge or the largest airport- there is no development of the core that makes us true Malaysians- our education is like the weather, our economy is largely white-washed, our social development is practically ziltch.

Much has been done to present to the world an outwardly progressive country until one peers behind the scenes to be greeted by the mess and chaos of deep-rooted prejudice and racism, cronyism, nepotism and general exploitation- from the environment all the way to the legal system. The businesses have sort of chugged along their own pace so somehow they are relatively unaffected.

After 22 years of accumulated mess left behind the stage stalls, cleaning up can be very tedious. No wonder there is much belly-aching in nearly every quarter now.

Singapore took care of the malays alright, by acquiring malay native land for peanuts and turning it into HDB flats, leaving the chinese owned freehold land untouched and which appreciated over the years.
Mr. Lee practise nepotism and cronyism. Only singaporeans know this. That is why they are leaving singapore in droves, at a rate of 10 a day for other countries. And Mr. Lee decided to import PRC from china as a replacement. soon singapore will be like any other PRC city in china.

And who wrote all this?

It just sounds like a whole bunch of random unfounded accusations. Take some commonly known facts. Pepper it with anti-Mahathirism. Mix it and make noise.

I'm not saying that I know the facts better. But I'm worried that writings like this, devoid of journalistic integrity, is diluting the quality of articles here. Such rants can go on a blog. But has no place where one comes to look for news.

As for Singapore, many S'poreans know about the LEE-galised corruption there. They may not need to take money under the table, it's much easier to vote themselves huge salaries. They may not have ISA, but they sue political opponents for defamation until they declare bankruptcy, since they have control of the judiciary same like us. SM Lee did a great job to lead S'pore where it is today. But who thinks that he was the only one who can do the job? The many opponents that he ground into the dirt in order for him to stay at the top, any of them might be able to do the same or do it better.

But at least S'pore got a better deal. Government corruption is just part of the cost of doing business. But at least down south, even as their old man stole, the country itself grew and is incredibly well managed. Our old man only stole and either left behind phallic symbols as his legacy.

TDM may think he is smarter than all Malaysians and Singaporeans combined. But then, he has always been selective in all his ways.
Only recently, he selectively remembers certain events in the Shockalingam episode. When he was the PM, he was also most selective in mega projects - only the biggest, tallest etc will do. Of course, he is selective on who he befriends - how he will attack the West but remain 'friendly' to dictators like Mugabe.
So tell me, who is the real Chameleon?
TDM has now been found most wanting in so many areas because being selective, he made more enemies than friends.
So please don't blame the rakyat who are now also beginning to be selective in judging who will be better leaders for country.
One thing for sure, you cannot select the time you grow old, become sick and die.

DBKL - Wireless@KL Broadband Scam
what others only whisper

Recently Packet One Networks in collaboration with DBKL and others, introduced a "free" wireless broadband service designed to "transform Kuala Lumpur into a world-class wireless city".
In these times of spiralling inflation, any free offer would be welcomed. But is this offer really free?
In the first place, the offer is "free" for 512kbps access. What is 512kbps when 1mbps is considered slow nowadays, especially at peak times? Its like giving you 50 sen, what can you buy with that? Not even a glass of kopi-o!

Yet there is more to insult to our intelligence. Examine their areas of coverage. If we think we can have this access all a long, say Jalan Raja Laut, we are sadly disappointed (like the Star reporter Jade Chan found out). The base stations are placed in restaurants and cafes which pay fees to Wireless@KL. That is how Wireless@KL make their money. To get this free 512kbps, you cannot be simply squatting at the doorway of the cafe, opening up your notebook, and surf to your hearts' content. To conceal our kiasu -ness, we will have to go into the cafe and order a drink, probably costing an arm. And that is how the cafes etc will get back their licence fees, plus extra business . But isn't that what is already happening at wi-fi hotspots?

Of course you will have slooow downlo*** at 512 kbps. And when you start cursing, Wireless@KL will amble along with an "offer" for 1mb kbps. This is where they hope to make a kill. All this with the involvement of DBKL to boot. These are some of the catches, there are probably more coming.

So if you are thinking of buying a notebook and taking advantage of this offer, DON'T. Surfing at internet cafes at RM2.00 an hour is cheaper. And you don't have to lug a notebook all over the place. Plus cheaper coffee.

Getting a licence to set up broadband is a cash cow. Wireless@KL claims the total investment will be RM60 million. Getting say, half a million subscribers at the competitive rate of RM 90.00 pm, the company will be laughing all the way to the Banks in just two months!

Which brings us to the truly good news that the Pakatan Rakyat Selangor Government will be launching soon their own wireless broadbank network. It should be as good, and cheaper. In order to have high penetration in homes, I believe the government should provide internet access for 1mb kpbs free or cheap.
I do hope the Selangor Government Broadband will extend to KL as well, so that we need not be held to ransom and be exploited any more.
