Umno and ABIM are enemies of the community. Umno and ABIM are enemies of Islam. Umno and ABIM serve the party and their own race. Umno and ABIM are not true Muslims. Umno and ABIM are bullshit Muslims. Umno and ABIM are practicing bullshit Islam.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Umno's interests come first, says Najib,” reported the New Straits Times today. The New Straits Times then went on to report Najib as saying, “We should always consider the party's interests above all else.”

Another New Straits Times report about the Pakatan Rakyat government offering Umno State Assemblymen positions in the Penang State Government, which of course they turned down, goes as follows:

The Pakatan Rakyat state government has again offered posts in several state committees to five Umno assemblymen. The assemblymen, who had turned down similar offers before, received offer letters from the state government last week.

They are Sungai Acheh assemblyman Datuk Mahmud Zakaria, Datuk Ariff Shah Omar Shah (Seberang Jaya), Muhammad Farid Saad (Pulau Betong), Datuk Azhar Ibrahim (Penaga) and Shabudin Yahaya (Permatang Berangan).

Azhar, the state opposition chief, said he received a letter offering him a place in the state Price Control Committee. The state Umno secretary said he was also asked to attend the committee's inaugural meeting.

"I will not accept their offer no matter what. It is against my principles. The truth is they are not sincere. All this is politically motivated."

Azhar said he had expected other Umno assemblymen to receive similar offers. "They can make us the offer as many times as they want but we will not accept them. We will continue to remain loyal to the party," he said.

And this is what Bernama reported today:

The Malaysian Muslim Youth Movement (Abim) has called on the government to clarify the necessity for the Public Service Department (PSD) to increase the ratio of scholarships for non-Bumiputeras from 10 percent to 45 percent.

Abim secretary-general, Khairul Arifin Mohd Munir, said in view that the education quota issue was closely related to provisions in the federal constitution like Articles 153(2) and 153(3) it was therefore necessary that Malaysians be given an explanation for the move.

Sura Al-Fatiha is the first chapter of the Muslim holy book, the Qur'an. Its seven verses are a prayer for God's guidance and stress the lordship and mercy of God. This chapter has a special role in the Muslims' daily prayers (Salat), being recited at the start of each unit of prayer, or rak'ah.

Verse five of this sura says: You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.

There is also a verse that goes as follows: innasalati, wanusuki, wamahyaya, wamamati, Lillahi Rabbil Alamin. This means all my actions and deeds (salat or prayers included), my life and my death, are only for the God of the entire world.

Najib, however, says that Umno’s interest should be above all other interests. So Najib is not a true Muslim.

And the Umno State Assemblymen say they only serve the party. So these Umno State Assemblymen are also not true Muslims.

Meanwhile, the Islamic youth movement, ABIM, is upset that the government is not upholding racial discrimination. So the ABIM people too are not true Muslims.

Yes, that’s right; don’t get too impressed and awed by any Arab look-alike, Bin Ladin wannabe. They may dress like Muslims from the Arabian desert. They may talk like Muslims. They may sujud (prostrate) on the ground with their backsides pointing to the sky five times a day. They may go to Mekah twice a year whereas others go only once in their entire life. Their wives and daughters may be ‘properly’ covered with a tudung or headscarf. They may even let loose from their lips a few Arabic words from time to time. But they are not true Muslims. They are munafik and fasik Muslims.

True Muslims practice amar maaruf, nahi munkar. True Muslims treat fardu ‘ain as one aspect of Islam and fardu kifayah as an even more important aspect. This means you uphold good and oppose evil. This also means you serve your community in the name of God while sacrificing your own interest (plus, in particular, party interests) for the good of the community. This means you uphold the teachings of Prophet Muhammad by opposing racism and the Umnoputera ‘caste system’ that exists in Malaysia.

But Umno and ABIM do the opposite to all this. They serve the party and uphold racism. They don’t care about the community. Party interests come first even if the community suffers. They oppose and violate everything that Islam stands for. They are munafik and fasik. Remember these two words: munafik and fasik. That is what Umno and ABIM are. Yet the pretend they are true Muslims. Bullshit! This is bullshit Islam practiced by bullshit Muslims. What they uphold and practice is everything that Islam opposes.

Uphold good and oppose evil: says Islam. Do not discriminate: says Islam. Race does not count: says Islam. Serve only God and your community: says Islam. But Umno and ABIM do the opposite of this. Umno and ABIM violate what Islam stipulates. True Islam practiced by true Muslims prohibits the serving of any other than the community and God. True Islam practiced by true Muslims prohibits racism and discrimination.

How ironical. The kafir (infidel) Chinese from Barisan Nasional are prepared to work with Pakatan Rakyat for the good of the people. These kafirs that Muslims say are all going to go to hell think of the people. On the other hand, the Muslims from Barisan Nasional sabotage Pakatan Rakyat even if the people have to suffer. These Muslims that Muslims say will be guaranteed heaven do not care about the people. How ironical that the kafirs practice amar maaruf, nahi munkar, and fardu kifayah, whereas Muslims violate these Islamic requirements. How ironical that the kafirs are better Muslims than Muslims. How ironical indeed.

Oh, by the way, I challenge any of the State Muftis to dispute what I wrote and declare me ‘sesat’ or misguided. I will take on any Mufti worth his salt. Speak now or forever hold your tongue.

Exactly RPK! These bunch of bullshit Muslims bring so much SHAME and degrade the true Muslims.

---

Plain simple:

1. ABIM represents Muslim faith and by stating so, does this means ABIM does not want an equality/rights among Malaysians? If yes, then it means Islam is teaching for unfair treatment to non-Bumi (which actually means non-Malays).

2. ABIM talks about Non-Bumi/Bumi, which means it promotes the segregation of 1st/2nd class citizen treatments. We can see how how fair is this group of people be.

3. The DEB/NEP and whatever preferences given specifically to Bumi (which essentially translated to Malays) MEANS the group of people cannot be independent, not able to stand by their own feets, and needed the goverment to spoon feed. What a shame for all of us to face our "non-Bumi" friends, who only see the "Bumi" as paracites.

Haiya, RPK,

please don't invite such people like the infamous Perak Mufti to argue with you. There'll be no end to it because he's mindset is cast in stoneage, your logic and argument will be totally lost to his level of intelligence/rational understanding. Fellow suffers like him possess a worldview that do not extend to the real world where it's so borderless now - Malaysians can just hop on a plane to another country to get aways and live peacefully away from the noise the likes of him generate.

Until we can talk and not use words like Bumi / non-Bumi, Kafir / non-Kafir, etc...Malaysia is way long to go towards civil first class country.

But fear not! I'll help in my little ways to do something about it. Peacefully and civilly.

What ills Malaysia is the narrow minded approach to a multi racial society where these scumbags think that their views are God's view and any dissents or different religions are blasphemous. They want the others to pay their taxes obligingly and then go to the corner and keep quiet. If they are so pious then why touch the taxed money of all those non muslims who they deemed non-halal.
Totally pissed!

Trust you to give us a bonus for the weekend while awaiting other bombshells whilst giving a good and a proper socking to those who intepret something as holy as Islam in accordance to their whims and fancies.

Boy, your article is going to be the Talk of the Mosques and Suraus across the country over the weekend. You have caused them to have a spinning head wondering what hit them. Take Care, Sir.

Here's a good quiz:

1.BN: We should always consider the party's interests above all else

2.PR: We should always consider the Malaysian's interests above all else

Which of the above quote is Malaysians more inspired by? Remember, this is a trick question.(duh)

BTW, ABIM does not represent Islam in any way, shape or form.To say ABIM represents Islam is an insult to Islam itself.

We all need to realise that we wont live forever. So all the politician need to realise that money and power will be gone one day no matter what. In order to develop, we all need to be together. Racism will only tear us apart. Those who thinks that people like me and others in here are troublemaker and disrupting the peace of the nation need to think twice. It may be peaceful now but the country is slowly rotting. Make your voices heard now before it's too late. Together, you and me can make a difference, not only for us but for our future generations long after we are gone. Think about it. You can make a difference.

RPK,
dun waste ur time challenging them. i remember once our mufti of perlis was challenged to a debate by someone disliked by the islamic community.
the mufti didnt even reply the challenge.
the reason that the challenge was not replied was because he was disliked and the reason for the dislike was he was questioning islam and its origins.
now, education in a definition debate comes down to many things but i feel questioning to understand reason and also to educate is supposed to be something very honorable.
dont u guys think so?
anyway, as for ABIM, they actually mentioned bumiputera and sabah and sarawak.
this is bloody ridiculous as i studied in east malaysia and i know, the bumiputeras there are very angry that they are just a part of a propaganda where they are called bumiputeras but are not given anything.
this is because the clowns in peninsular malaysia tend to grab everything before it is even up for distribution.
and u need not be a nuclear scientist to figure out who i am talking about.
i disagree with the racial lines drawn by our political system in malaysia and i hope anwar ibrahim does something about it.
Malays rights is something that article 153 champions.
im sure everyone in malaysia is fine or ignorant about that.
the educated society couldnt care less about article 153.
in a open market, even a bumiputera wants to be respected for his ability not for his racial stance.
give the scholarships, open the markets, abolish ridiculous care taxes.
our gov is not the richest but we also are not poor.
we can sustain our economy, all we need is a free, fair and just gov.
kick these hyenas out, they scavange on the rakyat.

DSAI,
if u are reading or anyone close to u is reading.
i am sure this is the message that malaysia wants u to hear.
we want.
1. abolishment of unnecessary taxation on foreign cars.
2. stricter rulings and investigations on corrutption.
3. make sure prime minister is a two term post like the U.S
4. loose the racial politics and call us BANGSA MALAYSIA.

we all are malaysians and we want to be known as malaysians.
on a personal note, i wish to ask u of one thing, DSAI.
before we can fight racism, we have to fight gender biasness.
i hope u let ur wife be the first malaysian woman prime minister.
this will be a huge step forward for malaysian politics and also a gargantuan leap in the development of a TRUE MALAYSIA.

“Umno's interests come first, says Najib,” reported the New Straits Times today. The New Straits Times then went on to report Najib as saying, “We should always consider the party's interests above all else.”

Aiseh RPK. I am not a big fan of Najib myself, but frankly I think your conclusion is a bit unfair.

I presume Najib's statement above was given in the context of UMNO party, which is fair enough considering that he is one of the party's leaders. This is unless he explicitly says, "the party's interest is above anything else, EVEN ISLAM" - then it is a different story. But he did not really say that, did he?

If we have to caveat everything that we say, then communication would be difficult. Imagine if I said this during my family dinner "Our family comes first, above everything else!" and then you knock on my door and say "oppss..wrong mate, ISLAM comes first" then communication would be difficult because you have taken my statement out of context.

So the most important thing is not take things out of context. It pisses me off when people take your statement out of context (in govt media etc.) Having said that it also annoys me a bit when YOU take other people's quote out of context. In the end your statement has to be fair.

Politics is shit. Period. I will not let any of you forget that once upon a time, ABIM naqibs, naqibahs, and their minion wannabe usrah-ites would mention 'brother Anwar' in every other sentence. Some followed Anwar into PKR. So very clearly, the recent PKR defections are these racists jumping ship. It's just amazing that they lasted even three months post-election manifesto. It must have been policy hell for them.

PKR: if you are a pluralist party, why do you need bedouin-sounding titles for your pemuda leadership? Ditch the ABIM baggage.

Fine,if these two groups are considered as 2nd class citizen. Fullstop ! What do we have in reality ? Yet,we have in our midst, illegal immigrants from neighbouring countries who not only dont contribute much but giving social problems and yet given equal treatment ! Hmm..I wonder why RPK labeled ABIM = UMNO
ABIM is a non-partisan NGO that fights for Islam in general. Please look at ABIM as a whole before you brand ABIM with anything or any party. Yes, ABIM questioned why the government changed the quota, but this alone does not make them UMNO because there are thousands of other press statements that ABIM gave that contradicts to what UMNO do or did! They have been against UMNO in many many things!
I have had respect to many of your views, but this one is just unacceptable. ABIM has fight for the cause of Muslims nationaly and internationally since it's founding.

The formula is simple, if the Public service is to accept more non-bumis than the private sectors (mostly non-bumis) will have to freely accept more Malays into their organization as well!

RPK has talked a lot about the discrimation that non-bumis get but he has never talked about the discrimination that bumis get from non-bumis in their private companies and family-based business!!!!! I don't think RPK will answer this!

Dear cc, your argument sounds rational at first glance.

I agree every rational being shouldn't twist things out of context. So, cynical cynic, let's get into the larger context of Najib's statement of 'the party's interest is above all else'. It's only fair that we look at the practical side of things. What has UMNO Baru done to the rakyat? What is UMNO Baru still doing to the nation? Now these two questions are self-explanatory so let's not go into its specifics here.

In the article , RPK has pointedly explained that UMNO Baru and its minions are not upholding good and opposing evil, which are obligatory of Muslims and all decent beings for that matter, but are in fact practising the opposite. And if UMNO Baru's actions and practices are against Islam, doesn't it equate to this statement 'UMNO Baru's interests are above all else even if they are against Islam'? Doesn't it equate to your hypothetical " unless he explicitly says --- 'the party's interest is above anything else, EVEN ISLAM"?

Instead of saying RPK has taken Najib's statement out of context, it should be the other way round. RPK has bared Najib's statement into the grindstone of a larger context.

And if your other hypothetical 'Our family comes first, above anything else' is within the confines of moral human characteristics, then 'No, Islam comes first' would be academic.

So Chippon, you are saying "tit for tat" right? Answer evil with evil? Is this the teaching of Islam? Quote me a hadith that says when people do us a bad deed, don't get mad--but get even.

Answer with an equally bad deed. Because non-bumi firms discriminate against bumis, the govt must discriminate against the non-bumis in award of scholarship. Have you ever thought about this: if the govt starts to be fair, maybe the private sector (chinese controlled companies) will start opening up to more qualified bumis.

So, is it wrong for the govt to show the way? Isn't the govt supposed to be benevolent, more level-headed than the private individual? It is about time that the true teachings of ISlam be practised by Muslim people in authority. Who knows, when non-Muslims see fair play by the Muslim leaders, some nn-muslims maybe attracted to enter ISlam, this universal religion. Today, thousands of Danish are entering ISlam soon after one of their countrymen drew that infamous cartoon of the Prophet of Islam (pease and blessings be upon him).

DEar RPK,

Dato Azhar Ibrahim the Penang State Opposition said this upon receiving an ivitation to join as a state Price Control Committee,; "I will not accept their offer no matter what. It is against my principles. The truth is they are not sincere. All this is politically motivated."

RPK, I think you are missing one crucial point here;and that is for these UMNO/BN politicians, they are only interested to be in a committee if they could cut a "deal" (read commission) for lobbying a contract, approvals of project, or things of that nature.Being in a committe where the other members would not be easily be corrupted is difficult for them. In other words, the Malay says... , "fulus tak mashuk" (is not profitable for them). What is the point than of joining such a committee than?

Nah...., it is not about weather they undersood their own religion (Islam)or not,it is about weather they can make money from joining a committee.

Oh yes, and another thing...,serving the people is not in UMNO'or BN's MPs dictionary. What is in thier dictionary is lining their own pockets.

Kenny, Ben123

I (think) I understand where you are coming from. To keep things simple, essentially you are saying that my statement is incorrect because Najib is a bad guy (not opposing evil, sacking Gerakan members etc etc.), therefore any criticism against him is justifiable.

I think its probably better for me to articulate my view better. I don't have any problem with valid criticism against Najib. However the thought process and the supporting rationale behind the criticism has to be accurate.

For example, let' say you say that Najib is a Bullshit Muslim because he is corrupt, and then you give some evidence to show that he is corrupt. I don't have any problem with that.

But if you say that Najib is a Bullshit Muslim because of some statement taken out of context, then I think its unfair.

I don't think the end justify the means. Yes Najib is evil, yes Najib is corrupt. But each argument has to be taken on its own merit. If not there won't be any difference between us any the "yes man" in UMNO, who just agree to whatever their leaders say.

Chipon, why so stupid?

Look, you say ABIM fights for Islam but is going against the notion of equality regardless of race is a core teaching in Islam? Thus isn't playing the racial card un-Islamic? What ABIM is really trying to defend is not Islam ideals but racial policies. So, yes even if by defending the quota they help Malay Muslims but shouldn't they put the interests of the human race as a whole above the interest of only Muslims? Was the prophet's (pbuh) example so hard to follow?

On regards of private corporations hiring more Malays... well, why should they? It's a private company, they can hire whoever they like. Nevertheless it's the profits that keep them in line. If their policies result in lower profits, they risk getting sacked. So more often than not, they are more inclined to put abilities above race.

It also doesn't help that race stereotype exists in recruitment considerations. Why is there stereotype? Look no futher than the NEP. If you want to get rid of the stereotype, get rid of the crutches. As long as there are policies that favour one race, that race will always be seen as having the crutches.

The biggest distinction is that government are accountable to the public thus what it does can be criticised by the people who put them in power. So if the public wants the quota to go then the government have to take note. Private corporations are not accountable to the public and only need to make profits. If you have your own company it's up to you to hire all Malay staff it's up to you as you are not accountable to the public.

Similarly I posted in another topic long ago about some idiot who claimed that the Chinese had their chamber of commerce who gives out loans to help out only Chinese businesses thus Chinese should not argue for equal economic playing field. Chamber of commerce again is not a public body. Their members can decide how they want to use their money and who they want to give their money to be it their datuk, cat or unborn child. Government funds are public money, not Malay money and they are accountable for the public.

I don't get it why some people still can't understand the distinction between public bodies and private corporations. The rules apply differently to both. The salaries of public bodies are regulated whereas in the private sector they can pay you how much they like. Private bodies do not have a regulated racial quota and can either have none or have one at any size they want.

So, Chipon, jangan jadi bodoh. Find out why the rules for public bodies and private corporations are different before you spout more nonsense.

Stupid ABIM. We continue to split the country apart. Philippines want Sabah. Indonesia want the rest of Malaysia, we can't even say Rasa Sayang is ours. We even lost Pulau Batu White to Singapore.

And yet, we continue to use race and religion to dampen the feeling of patriotism and sense of Malaysian national pride. ...

We're screwed!
-----------------------

My kind of stuff.

The sense of belonging with Malaysia - is all gone in April '08 - after feeling 'high' in March after the Mar 8 gen.elections.

The Melayu Bo**h keep refering to Indonesians as 'Bangsa Serumpun' while refering to us Chinese,Indians, etc as 'Bangsa Asing/Pendatang' -
more than before the 12th GE!
A case of one step forward, two steps backwards!
(The Malays Sultans are our nonMalays' sultans too - but the Melayus think not so. They still consider Malaysia & Sultan2 'Melayu Punya')

Of course the Southern Filipinos consider Sabah as part of them! They migrated to Sabah by the droves over the centuries and even coming in till today; and not that Sabah natives moved over to southern Philippines.

The same with the Peninsula, most are Indonesians to begin with - even the Sultans are Indons - who openly claim to be Bugis, etc.

(No such thing as a Melayu Jati(asli) sultan ....FACT!!)

Millions of Indons migrate to Malaysia every decade - and they breed, multiply (ie get married and reproduce more millions)!

And so the Indonesians (in Indonesia) naturally feel Malaysia actually is part of Indonesia!

We Chinese and Indians and 'Lain/Other' who developed the land in a big way & faster (since we're more productive) - are now considered parasites living off the socalled Bumis or Melayus' benevolence! (When the other way around is true).

It's time for Chinese and Indians to (following the Malays) also repeatedly say 'Bangsa Serumpun' to all the Chinese, and the Indians across the world; yes, repeatedly say 'Bangsa Serumpun'.

The Indians for example when they see Indian newsreaders, tv journalists, etc on CNN, BBC, etc --
tell to the Melayu beside you, 'Hey, that's my Bangsa Serumpun' --
and then Melayu will feel humiliated/offended - because no Malays are on CNN, BBC, etc

I understand what u are trying to say and i agree. I fully promote multiracial as well.
But we have to understand the scenario in this country. The spirit of multiracial is at the very moment directed to only the government/public service. Why not we all educate ourselves to not to be racial based in everything and every sector, be it public or even private. Why? it's simply because the government/public and private works together to move the economy of the country. It's a cycle. So u can't just have policies for part of the cycle..these policies of having equality has to be implimented for the whole cycle! Can u see where i'm coming from? Every activity that happens in this country affects everything..again..it's a whole cycle that ties everything.

So if u have 70% of non-muslims in the private and also 70% of non-muslims in the government, does that justify the ratio of the country's population? Now what would u do if u are the leader of this country?? a leader that is responsible for muslims and also non-muslims??

Off course we want to be multiracial, but it's not going to be easy. So now,the whole nation (muslims& non-muslims/ private and government) has to work together
to make sure the whole country moves forward in a balance way! The NEP proves that it didn't work the way it should, so lets find a way that would promote fair and balance nation.

For non-muslims, u want the government to give fair and balance opportunities, where at the same time u know very well that the government is just not doing that simply because the muslims are doing really bad in economy. So being experts in economic activities, please help the muslims to be experts as well! jangan kedekut sangat ilmu buisiness tu! help the muslims, after all we are all saying that muslims and non-muslims are brothers and sisters aight??

I can bet on my life that the government will give everything to the non-muslims if the non-muslims give everything to help the muslims be on par with them in everything else that's happening in this country!

p/s: UMNO sucks big time because they dont help the muslims, they enrich themeselves only! that's the problem

I believe religion is a very private thing. When one attempted to associate with it publicly one should not blame us from be suspisious of the intention. In my opinion, if one is good, it comes from the heart and nothing can change that. Similarly if one is bad, it also comes from the heart and believe me nothing can change that too. So for those who want to use religion to disguise their true self, we ask you to cut those craps and start doing good things.

My wish is for all politicians to dissociate politics from religions. My wish is for Malaysia to do away the law that force all Malay to be Muslims. Give all Malaysians the freedom of choice of the religions. And that freedom should also be extended to all Malays wherever they are. It has been proven over and over again, FORCE never bring positive development. Base on what RPT has preached in MT, I am sure if you were to give him the freedom to choose religion, he will without hesitation choose to be a muslim. I am sure many will do the same and the same apply to those devotees in other religions.

I know some of the Politicans out there will argue that there are many countries worse of than us. No arguing about that. But then why should be compare with worst, why not comparing with the best. I believe it takes a great man or woman to have the courage to make such change. Until that happen, what we have now is just a dream.

Dear RPK,
My salutations to you. I worry for you though, for you say things that many of us only dare to think about but not speak of in Malaysia. I fear that UMNO and ABIM will not let you off so easily for your expose of their hypocritical ways.

I have many muslim friends from middle east (Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Palestine etc etc) while I was in US some 20years ago. In fact, one of my best friends is a Muslim from Jordan and we are best of friends because we respected each other despite our religious and racial differences. Never at anytime he demonstrated any condescending attitude of being better or holier than I. We were like brothers because we trusted each other. I remember once when I mentioned how lucky I was for something good that just happened to me (forgot what it was..), and he reminded me that it's because "God loves me". That's from a Muslim to a Christian. For him, God is God, and there is only one GOD.......not his Muslim God vs my Christian God.

However, I don't have the same good feeling about many Muslims in Malaysia. Perhaps, it's the fruit of UMNO's propaganda that keeps sowing the seeds of Islamic and Malay supremacy in the minds of the people in order to divide and conquer. Whatever it is, they have been very successful and if it were not for people like RPK, who expose their lies and hypocricy, many less exposed non-Muslims will develop the thinking that Islam is a completely unjust and violent religion.

Therefore, RPK is indeed one rare Gem in this world. A selfless person who dares to speak out when the rest of us are afraid. I believe he is doing this not because he is trying to be a Hero among the people, but because he seeks to show people the truth and that Islam is really not being fairly represented by the so called Muslim leaders in Malaysia, who are hypocrites.

Thanks to you RPK for your sincerity. You are doing a great job and May God Bless and Protect You!!

Bollocks. That's a very convenient generalisation. We like to think of ourselves as hiring the best staff i.e. dedicated and dilligent and team players. As a profit making entity we cannot afford to hire base on race but we hire based on ability. A lot of my non Malay business friends will tell you that if they hire based on race then they cannot last long. One simple reason is who's gonna work during festive season? Another more important reason is not all Chinese staffs are efficient.

One simple rule to stay in business is...don't discriminate whether your staff or customers. BN should learn how to run the country from the private sector.

And that's the reason why I never believed that religion should be mixed up with politics. Politicians will always tend to misuse and abuse religion for their own selfish ends the moment politics comes into the picture. Alas, for a particular religion, they keep harping that religion cannot be separated from politics.

The disaster in using religion as a political ideology is that that religion will be interpreted by the victorious party for the own ends. In Malaysia's case, the UMNO politicians and some Islamic NGO's have condoned and even promoted discrimination(economics, education, language, culture) against other races, and they are doing all this in the name of their religion. They are also treating others as their slaves while calling themselves masters.

Can some learned Muslim please clarify on Islam. I am thoroughly confused.

"PEACE BE WITH YOU"

The most meaningful words I have ever heard. I believe it is "ASSALAMUALAIKUM".
However, in Malaysia "Warga Bukan Bumiputra" (thats how our children are being stereotyped in school now) cannot express it. Why?? Perhap, RPK will advise, for you are truly a man of God. "PEACE BE WITH YOU, RPK"

ABIM is ANgkatan Belia Islam Malaysia.
Their oblectives stated here

does not mention anything about race. Its supposedly an Islamic movement. SO if i am an Indian Muslim or a Chinese Muslim and belongs in BAIm, by virtue of ABIM questioning Malay rights has gone against the principal this organization was formed to begin with. Since when Islam and Malay is one. I think all Non Malay Muslims in ABIM should resign immediately because ABIM has tarnish the image of the organization. I think ABIm should change their name to ANgkatan Belia Islam Melayu Malaysia. Show ur true spots. DOnt hide behind Islam.

Dear RPK,
The ABIM group has not been active in promoting what we are today. They didn't really with DSAI. They a more inclined to the government of Badawi. Of late, when Pakatan came into power in 5 states, espcially Selangor, more ABIMs 'mengendeng' DSAI. Using DSAI link, some of them are looking for posts in Selangor govts. I came to know one of them is already appointed to high ranking post in Selangor govt. The link? DSAI. I'm afraid if this is to carry on, the many qualified Selangorian is left behind. DSAI should not put tooo much hand in Selangor govt. Selangor has been very open on taking whoever qualified, no matter where they come from. The exco lineup for example, a few non Selangorian, YBs are the same. In the GLc, state body, even more.

If UMNO is the devil, this raises the billion dollar question: why are the majority of Malays still supporting UMNO? The Aliran analysis of the March 8 election shows that >50-60% of Malays voted for UMNO, with variation according to state. It is very clear that the Malays were angrier in 1999 after Anwar was prosecuted (this is seen as a Malay issue). But in 2008, the vote swing was minimal (5% at most) which shows that the arrogance, corruption, racist actions of UMNO did not really make them bat an eyelid.
RPK needs to talk about this issue: What is The Reason? Is it because Malays were not aware/mislead by UMNO? Or it it simply because they prefer UMNO's racist/religious policies?

Hi all

Just becos some empty vessles in gepima or kima make noise, it does not mean all Indian Muslims want to become Malays. Many of them are proud about our roots.

They have been serving the community for many years. Many of their forefathers came here as merchants. Some came to work for these merchants. Indian Muslims brought with them the culture of using spices.-- Where do you think Rempah Ratus came from? Gunung Tahan??

They are also serving the community in feeding the many "hungry" Malaysians looking for "value-for-money" food all day, even into the wee hours of the night.

For all this what do they get? Mockery? Disrespect!!! Even the term Mamak is not liked by many self-respecting Indian Muslims. Do you know that "mamak" is also used synonymously with pimps in the Tamil language. So stop referring to Indian Muslims as mamaks!

For all that Indian Muslims contribute to the nation, there is not one representative in government to champion their plights. Those one or two Indian Muslims look-alikes in UMNO don't count because they could be too busy filling their own koffers.

Of course I cannot deny the fact of late many young malay women are marrying yuppie Indian Muslims. I wonder y? The women know that Indian Muslim men make faithful husbands..

Coming back to the issue of True Muslims. In Malaysia the Malays have assumed the role that they are guardians and vanguards of Islam here. Please read the following information about the spread of Islam.

Islam came to South Asia long before Muslim invasions of India. Islamic influence first came to be felt in the early 7th century with the advent of Arab traders. Trade relations between Arabia and the subcontinent are very ancient. Arab traders used to visit the Malabar region, which was a link between them and ports of South East Asia, to trade even before Islam had been established in Arabia. According to Historians Elliot and Dowson in their book The History of India as told by its own Historians, the first ship bearing Muslim travelers was seen on the Indian coast as early as 630 ad. H.G. Rawlinson, in his book: Ancient and Medieval History of India claims the first Arab Muslims settled on the Indian coast in the last part of the 7th century ad. Shaykh Zainuddin Makhdum’s “Tuhfat al-Mujahidin” also is a reliable work. This fact is corroborated, by J. Sturrock in his South Kanara and Madras Districts Manuals, and also by Haridas Bhattacharya in Cultural Heritage of India Vol. IV.It was with the advent of Islam that the Arabs became a prominent cultural force in the world. The Arab merchants and traders became the carriers of the new religion and they propagated it wherever they went.

South Indian Muslims have been Muslims for aeons. I am no historian but when did Malays become Muslims? Parameswara's time? earlier? Later? Even then it is about 700 years max...Please do the math.

And to those worried about who is eating into the NEP pie..it is not the Indian muslims...sorry to say this but it is the javanese, other indonesians and cambodians who have made their way here and have assumed the bumiputera status..
These indonesians and Cambodians (Just visit Melaka and you will see cambodians have taken over the textile business in the old market area) are as much pendatang as the Indians and Chinese here but they have slithered into the bumiputera category...

Cynical Cynic,

I just took a peek at yesterday's NST to verify the context in which Najib's statement was made. It was about some ex-PKR members rejoining UMNO, and not about BN members serving PR states, which somehow I thought it was. I was wrong, and I don't feel the least proud that I jumped the gun. You're correct, friend. Najib's statement was taken out of context. Guess you're not boycotting the papers. Haha..

Anyhow, RPK and us all are still correct in the larger context - Najib is not a true Muslim. Najib and UMNO Baru, by its actions and policies which are against Islam and all religions, condemns all its members to being bullshit Muslims.

"If not there won't be any difference between us any the "yes man" in UMNO, who just agree to whatever their leaders say"

CC, please refer to the many comments in 'SMOKESCREENS AND DISINFORMATION : A DISTRACTION OF ISSUES' under the section The Corridors of Power. Most likely, you will banish the thought of MT members being 'yes-man'.

ABIM – your unIslamic, unethical and inhumane statement on award of scholarships is a shame on you and the community you claim to represent.

I finished HSC (now STPM) in 1962, as the top student in a leading school. Unfortunately and perhaps fortunately in retrospect, there was no government scholarship for me. My parents insisted I go to University even though their combined monthly income of less than RM 400 was hardly adequate to meet their own needs. It was a struggle for all of us, but we made it and are very proud about it.

More than half my classmates were bumiputras and everyone who made the minimum University entry qualifications was given a place in the University without any competition and awarded a scholarship that gave them RM2, 500 per annum. Those who did not qualify for University of course were automatically placed in the all free MARA College.

The very next day after my last University exam, I took a temporary job until I finally was selected for a career civil service job. This was the start of another series of struggles due to the inexorable weight of an invisible glass ceiling that was placed over my head only on account of my race and religion. We had to compete for promotions with those who were many years our juniors. I am 65 now and continue to contribute to the government coffers that ironically continue to finance the bumiputra scholarships.

While I had to hunt and seek a job and career, my bumiputra classmates from the University could afford to hang around on scholarship financed scooters and wait for the government to hand them cushy government jobs on the silver platter three to six months after the final University exam.

The story does not end there. My children had to encounter the same struggle. Thanks to the seeds sown by their humble grandparents, they knew what struggle was from the day they were born. All of them have gone through foreign universities without any government assistance and are now productive citizens of the world. Many of my non-bumiputra classmates have had the same experience.

On the other hand, the children of my bumiputra classmates and work colleagues, who live in grand houses purchased on subsidized prices with two to three cars parked in their elegant front porches, received the same government benefits as their parents. Many of them also attended elite boarding schools that were meant for the poor. Some of my colleagues could also visit their children in the foreign universities.

This story is not about seeking pity or admiration. It is about facts, 50 years of continued discrimination from cradle to grave, and more importantly about a community that has become addicted to government handouts.

ABIM - go calculate, during the period from 1963 to 2008, how many hundred thousand or million bumiputeras have benefited from government assistance – special schools and colleges with everything provided free, scholarships, secured employment, secured promotions, subsidized homes, special share allocations, reserved licensees, free state land and countless other opportunities. If only each of the initial beneficiaries had supported their own children, the number of bumiputras seeking or needing government assistance would be much less than what it is today.

Dear, RPK
As you have rightly pointed out the true religion of Islam have been hijacked over the millennia by people who claimed to be Muslims and practiced only a small fraction of what it takes to be one.
The correct definition of a Muslim is a person who dedicated oneself 100% to the tenets and rules and actions as per the Koran.
The vast majority of “Muslims” through the various degrees of ignorance and disbeliefs have managed to be misled and misguided by its so called scholars and leaders.

There is asolution, but are we brave enough to admit our mistakes and errors and take the giant steps to self healing?

Looking at the surroundings, whether here or anywhere else, the majority of Muslims are not capable nor willing to take these important steps.

EDUCATION of the spirit and soul is the first step, because IGNORANCE and ARROGANCE are the mother and father of human INDIGNITY, GREED and EGOS (just to name a few) of the corrupted traits of rebelliousness against the Creator.

This much needed education can only come through awareness of the souls’ weaknesses and the desire to not only correct, but strengthen the spirit to do good and avoid evil.

Yes, the Fasiks and Munafiks are the enemies within that can do more damage to the Muslims than the Unbelievers and Idolators. It is blatantly clear and astonishingly simple, to see the so called “educated” Muslims ( for fear of stigma and being ostracize by their “Friends”) choose to act and behave in complete opposite to the Teachings of the Holy Book.

Looking at the bigger picture, on the Global stage, It’s pathetic to see Muslim countries kowtowing or in cohort with the enemies of Islam as defined in the BOOK to undermine another Muslim country.

Where is the Dignity and Honor and sense of justice of Muslims Leaders when, Iran, a Muslim nation, is being bullied and pushed around by Non Muslim lead countries(USA, UK, Germany, France {all Christians), just because it refuses to bow down to their wishes but instead stand-up for its rights.. Why are our so-called Muslim Leaders silent?

Note: This it the concept of western Democracies, where Might is Right, and the Pigs have more rights than Humans.

Are the Muslim leadership more afraid of those people and their powers than the Power of Allah Almighty Himself?

If they are, the present generation and future generation of Muslims will continue to be bullied, threatened, repressed and abused by others.

RPK is throwing a challenge to all Muslims in general and Malays specifically to discard their old corrupted, divisive and ignorant ways and grow and wise-up to the true teaching, From King, Sultans and ministers to the person who sweeps the streets, You are all same and equal before God. Strive for His sake only!

Are we up to his challenge?

Never ever apologized for being a MUSLIM
That’s our reason to live and die for.

RELIGION IS NOT LIFE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes, I just really dont understand. To me, I think that religion is just a believe, a thinking that teaches us how to do good things in life.

But sadly, I often meet with people that lose their orginal identity in the name of religion. Let me give you an example. As you all know, Chinese celebrated a lot of non-religion type of festival like Chinese New Year, Autumn Celebration, etc. But once a Chinese embraced Christian or Islam, to them they are no more Chinese. They are now Christian or Muslim. They no more celebrated those festivals because according to them, Christian or Muslim doesnt celebrate those festivals. But how come? Those are non-religion festivals. How come it is not celebrated now? Is it religion above your life, your origin and your race?

Some of you may say, "Nope, I still got celebrate those...., the writer must be crazy." But before you say those, please check out with your friends and family members first and you will realise that you are losing your own identity due to religion.

Religion is a path u take to go to God. When u are with god, u are a spirit. Tell me does a spirit have a race? Does a spirit follow cultural rules?

Religion is a path that helps u prepare to be that spirit that is ready to be with God. When next to God, race, even religion, doesnt matter. All is God, and God is all!

So when u choose a religion, you are moving forward, developing yourself, to approach, and be with, God.

Hope this helps.

only those who reject the message of islam after been explained to them are consider kafir , because kafir means those who reject.

time for muslims to stop following Islam blindly and follow the authentic source... because islam which was brought to Tanah Melayu was a corrupted one.

and muslims here been following that for 500 years . No wonder they are still left behind in worldly matters.

Another disease with Muslims here is they think that no matter what happened to them in this world..they will be safe in hereafter.....i do agree that hereafter is our ultimate goal but most of them forsake world and they are following their ancestor's Islam which cannot guarantee them safety in hereafter..

When I relate the inequalities that we,the non muslims in Malaysia face daily to fellow Muslim colleagues from Syria and Palestine, they laughed cynically. They then, comment and deny that this practice is justifiable in the eye of Islam.

Like all religion, Islam is a religion of fairness, justice and impartiality, as they claim. This makes me ponder to ask in silence is does the Islam practiced by Muslims in Malaysia cordons then such unfairness, in justice ,partiality and favouritism.

Why I ask in silence? Because as I am a non Muslim Malaysian living in years under racial and religious discrimination, I deemed to have this irony accepted unconditionally.
RPK, today had brought out a great eye-opener for all religion and their followers. Whether, Muslims, Toaists ,Hindus, Christians, Atheists, or etc...it does not matter. What matters is do we, as human ( with any faith) practice it faithfully or otherwise? Do we accept racial issues to blind our eyes in practising our faith? How can anyone say that he practises a faith and at the same deprive another of the latter s equal share to existence?

RPK...Maybe not in this generation or the next....I believe that in generation to come in Malaysia will one day regard you to be a role model of a faithful follower of your faith.

May GOD give the strength, courage and wisdom to keep on struggling on the real cause of all religions of the world....human kindnness.

Abim gives Islam a bad name! If a muslim gives Islam a bad name, he is held accountable and punished! What about Abim?

RPK should be PM really. And when that happens, terms such as;
1st class 2nd class citizen, bumi & non-bumi, kafirs, kuota etc will be extinct from the face of malaysia straight away

In all my years involved in education, training and performance, I have come to the conclusion that a little bit of education is worst off than being ignorant. RPK and the boys at ABIM/GPMS are a case in point. RPK has no degree, self-taught and yet he appear more knowledgeable and well-trained than those at ABIM/GPMS who have a piece of paper from god knows what and where.

How does PSD move even violate the constitution when NEP is not even codified and in fact likely to be unconstitutional? Why don't they just take to the streets and hurt some people like in Indonesian crazies, at least they reveal who they truly are and deserve to be send into lockup...

Allow me to write this in BM so that these ABIM/GPMS stooges knew that this is about them.

SIAPA ORANG ABIM / GPMS?

Mentaliti mereka mudah. Belajar musti dapat biasiswa. Kemudian kerja musti dengan kerajaan. Dengan Jabatan Kemajuan Ikan pun ok. Senang housing loan. Beli Proton saga pun loan government. Kalau ada hotel kerajaan, tentu penuh dgn mereka.

Rupa mereka mirip kambing. Musti ada goatee punya. Baju batik atau kemeja. Biasanya bawa file hitam.

Or are they private sector rejects? Only good for organisation like JAKIM, Perbadanan this and that, Institusi whatever....? 9 to 5?

RPK, excellent piece.

Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia(ABIM), hama di seberang nampak, gajah di depan mata tak nampak. They fought a different battle and prefer foreign philosophy then what is suppose to be done in their own back-yard. They don’t even dare to say what’s right or wrong. They are the tongue-less NGO in Malaysia. Shame on them.

UMno leaders with deep knowledge of Islam were not given a chance to even be nominated to be their reps for reasons they knew best. Only when they face a malay opposition candidate that they’ll do so. These may break-up the malays even more than they expected, Islam aside.

Islam itself is all about LOVE and PEACE but when comes to politics and powers, there were ignored. What we saw were the fight to succeed with all might to WIN…WIN...WIN regardless of casualties, damages or the MORAL to represents the people.

We are wiser now by looking at WHO is the better warrior for PEACE, TRUTH, TRUSTWORTHY, FAIR, JUST, CLEAN etc and more humane to the rest of us all. True enough, colours, race or religion are NOT the answers we seek in politics.

It’s the FAITH to righteousness in their campaigns, actions and performances. Go people…Go. As long as “JANGAN” CAKAP TAK SERUPA BIKIN.

That’s MURTad to the faith of righteousness. Come next term “ you, HILANG – TAMAT - KABISH - ELLEK - BOH LIAU – HISTORY ”

This is so true the PLAIN SIMPLE, 3 points, why segregate the people into BUMI and NON BUMI. This is purely divide and rule, and he is right too that the non bumi only look down on the bumi as parasite. This is so sad because the BN has done this to the country and I'm surprise that ABIM seems to be against fairness in policy. Don't forget 90% of tax payer are non BUMI says TUN Mahathir isn't it? My wife has been asking me to write and ask WHO IS A BUMIPUTRA? Many Chinese have been here for hundreds of years, go to the street and pick up any Chinese, chances are he is a third, fourth or fifth generation Malaysian but still a non bumi!!!! But an Indonesian, first on second generation Malaysian is automatically a bumi and enjoy all th privileges given by the government. If nothing is done about this situation, the divide between bumi and non bumi will be greater and deeper, unity will never be achieved for generations to come. The non bumi do not expect hand out, but expect fairness and meritocracy. A clear and transparent policy should be instituted to help the poor irrespective of race, there are poor people of all races. By being 60% of the population, the majority to get help would be the bumi and the non bumi has no quarel with that, in fact they will even stretch forth a helping hand. What irks the non bumi are the rich bumi getting lots of privileges, scholarships for all their children to study oversea even if their grades are not fantastic but got connections. Buying houses with a discount even for the rich is bad policy, in the heart of the non bumi," we have to subsidise housing for the rich as well". This is ridiculous!! The list can go on, even my young Malay colleague can tell me that he knows that the NEP discriminate against non bumi and is unfair, BRAVO! Time is right for change, and change for the betterment of the country. Have policy that unite the people instead of divide, call everyone Malaysian, and when they say it they mean it and love it. Only fair policy, equal treatment can bring out such a change.

Let's do some simple calculations here.
In Malaysia , the average family income is RM3,000 /month
(where father works, mother doesn't).
I understand there are many families whose
monthly income does not reach RM3,000,

but, to make things simple,

let's take RM3,000 as the figure. Ok lah, right?

Okay, let's start rolling with a family which has

Papa, Mama, 1 daughter and 1 son. Ngam-ngam ....

Calculation starts...

> > > Electricity and water bill: RM100
> > > (No air-con, No home theatre, No water heater ... ok?)
> > > Phone bill ( Telekom): RM100
> > > Meals for a happy family: RM775
> > > (3 meals on RM25/day, RM25 for 4 persons...?)
> > > Papa makan / teh-tarik during working hrs: RM155
> > > (RM5/day, RM5 ... can eat what?)
> > > Car repayment: RM400
> > > (A proton saga aeroback, 7 yrs repayment)
> > > Petrol (living in city, traffic-jam): RM300
> > > (go to work, bring son to school, only can afford one car running)
> > > Insurance: RM650
> > > (kids, wife and myself)
> > > House repayment: RM750
> > > (low cost housing repayment for 30 yrs, retired still have to work to pay!)
> > > Tuition: RM80
> > > (got that cheap meh? i don't think so)
> > > Older children pocket money @ school: RM20
> > > (RM1/day, eat bread?)
> > > School fees: RM30
> > > (enough ah?)
> > > School books and etc: RM100
> > > (always got extra to pay in school)
> > > Younger children milk powder: RM50
> > > (cannot have the DHA, BHA, PHA one, expensive)
> > > Miscellaneous: RM100
> > > (shampoo, rice, sauce, toilet paper)

Oh wait!!! I have to stop here, so...
No Astro,
no movie @ cinema,
no DVD,
no CD,
no online,
cannot KFC,
cannot McDonald,
cannot go Park walk during weekend (petrol expensive),
no chit chat on phone with grandparents, and etc...

Let's use a calculator to total up... WALAO EH! Shit! RM3,610 already...

EPF belum potong, income tax lagi........oledi RM3,610 ...
How to survive lah tuan-tuan dan puan-puan sekalian ???
Our Deputy Prime Minister asked us to change lifestyle?
How to change? Don't eat? Don't work? Don't send children to school and study?

Besides that, I believe in Malaysia population, there are millions of rakyat Malaysia which still don't earn RM3,000/month!!!

What is this? Inilah Malaysia Boleh... Sorry... it should be Malaysians Boleh , because we're still alive and kicking!!

Our politicians must be mad!!!!
Please forward and comment boleh or tak boleh. No wonder so many Ah Loong around..

Agree with you, Forex. I only earn RM1,300/mth. Bodohwi wants us all to live in the gutters like rats while he enjoys porking his wife in his luxurious mansion.

Dear RPK,
What you're saying is totally true. If they really value Islam, why is there a column for "Bangsa" in all Jabatan Agama forms?
