'Suami saya didera dalam tahanan ISA' PDF Print E-mail

(Malaysiakini) - Seorang surirumah mendakwa suaminya didera dan gagal dirawat dengan rapi sewaktu ditahan bawah Akta Keselamatan Dalam Negeri (ISA) sehingga mengalami kelumpuhan.

Dalam laporan polisnya hari ini, Sharmila Uthiakumar mendakwa Sanjeev Kumar Krishnan dibelasah dalam tempoh siasatan selama 55 hari sejak 28 Julai tahun lepas.

"Bahagian badan dan kepala beliau ditumbuk dan ditendang dengan kasut. Bahagian tulang beliau ditendang beberapa kali dengan menggunakan kaki.

"Kaki kiri dan tangan kiri beliau dipukul beberapa kali dengan menggunakan objek yang keras seperti kayu.

"Selain itu, beliau juga selalu dipukul dengan menggunakan botol yang berisi air," kata Sharmila dalam aduannya di ibu pejabat polis daerah Dang Wangi, Kuala Lumpur pagi ini.

Beliau diiringi tiga anggota keluarganya. Hadir sama ialah pengerusi Gerakan Mansuhkan ISA (GMI) Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh dan beberapa aktivis gerakan tersebut.

Dalam laporan polis itu lagi, Sharmila juga mendakwa suaminya didera dengan teruk, termasuk "dipaksa meminum air kencing sendiri, selain kemaluannya dipukul dan dijolok dengan objek keras".

Dipindah kem

Selepas ditahan hampir dua bulan, dakwanya, suaminya dipindahkan ke kem tahanan Kamunting di Taiping mulai 22 September lalu.

Sharmila, seorang pengawal keselamatan, mendakwa akibat kesakitan yang dialami suaminya di bahagian tangan dan kaki kiri, Sanjeev Kumar terpaksa dibawa ke hospital Taiping bulan lalu tetapi tidak mendapat rawatan sewajarnya.

"Pada malam hari yang sama (11 April lalu), Sanjeev Kumar mengadu sakit dan kali ini beliau telah dimasukkan dalam wad (hospital Taiping) kerana keadaan yang serius," katanya lagi dalam aduan polis itu.

Seminggu kemudian, dakwanya, suaminya dibawa keluar dari hospital tersebut.

"Namun, beliau kini menggunakan kerusi roda untuk kehidupan hariannya kerana kaki dan tangan sebelah kiri tidak lagi berfungsi dan beliau menjadi lumpuh," katanya.

"Akibat kesihatan beliau yang amat teruk, kini suami saya telah kehilangan berat badan yang amat banyak. Beliau sentiasa kelihatan tidak bermaya dan sakit," tegas Sharmila dalam laporannya itu

Syed Ibrahim pula, dalam kenyataannya, berkata Sanjeev Kumar ditahan di kem tersebut atas tuduhan "ejen perisik asing."

This what we get been born as an Indian in Malaysia, and I really hope there's an answer to this problem. I don't want add more to the roaring fire to anyone that was born as an Indian in Malaysia, but I know one thing for sure..what goes up, will bound to come down.

I like to see the Mass Media do a human interest story on this case. Or will they be silent and try to dismiss this story?

I truly sympathize with this man. He may be an agent, but try him in court and treat him with dignity in the mean time. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty. How is this man a threat to national security?

So, is this man a free man now? If he's free, is he freed because he is now partially paralyzed? If he was such a threat, how is it that paralysis now makes him NOT a threat to national security?

This could be any of us here. Imagine being beaten until crippled. The whole life is affected and the one who beat him up walk away scott free.

Anyone out there, if you still want to vote for Barisan Najis. Remember this guy who get beaten up. You will vote for more of this things to happen and one day. YOU or your relative will be treated like this poor Malaysian guy.
