Dear RPK we are with you. What ever happening now is always for good say. The past election result lesson is still not enough for them yet. They want to learn their lesson in a hard way.

The world is moving forward and endavouring for the future. But, in our country, there are people still cannot accept the reality.

Now, I'm in Singapore and lighting up a candle in my hotel room for you. You keep it up and good luck to you.

THE PEACEFUL EVENT THAT WAS NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE PLACE

My son and I took the bus from Shah Alam at 5.30 p.m. to make it in good time for the Candle Vigil for RPK at Dataran Merdeka tonight. After doing my maghrib prayers at the Masjid Jamek, we walked towards Dataran Merdeka from the Jalan Tun Perak side. We were feeling upbeat but it was not for long. The moment we turned the corner from the old sessions courts complex, we saw quite a number of police trucks, patrol cars, FRU trucks. The road to Dataran Merdeka was cordoned-off. There were a lot of policemen milling about but we could not see anyone holding up candles.

We started walking towards the other end of Dataran Merdeka hoping to find the organizers of the vigil. It was quite spooky for the fact that my son and I were about the only ones walking on Dataran Merdeka. Suddenly, a ranked policeman stopped us and asked what we were doing there, so I told him that I was there to join the Candle Vigil for RPK. He then curtly told me to walk straight ahead and cross over to the other side of the barricades.

It is very upsetting that the Government/Police did what they did. It is a true sign of weakness of this stupid government.

We hung around for a bit and made friends with the other disappointed participants, then a policeman came to our group and told us to disperse in 15 minutes, otherwise we would be put in the police truck that conspicuously was parked very near our group.

This is really bad, we are doomed with this Government. We need to really chuck them out quick.

I was there. There are about 100 anjing guarding both ends of the road (one near Masjid Jamek; the other Pasar Seni). Those who went near there were asked to leave. I and two Chinese guys were initially at the Masjid Jamek entrance. I thought I saw Elizabeth Wong with a group of people walking towards the Dataran. My new-found friends (D & R & one Indian man) followed them from behind. At the middle of the field, the group of people turned out to be office workers (and the lady was not EW) and they went straight down to the basement parking!

So, 4 of us were at the centre of Dataran Merdeka, with tens of anjing around, some staring at us. We went passed them like a few kittens going pass a pack of anjings and joined some 10-20 alley cats at the end of the road near Pasar Seni.

After hanging around there for 15 mins, we were asked by some anjings to disperse(one of them is turbaned). They gave us another 15 mins. A young kitten called Psycho and his acquaintance tried to lit up their candles and were immediately surrounded by the anjings. Their candles 'kena rampas'.

About 10-20 alley cats hang around in the alley and a few went into 7-eleven. The anjings waited outside and sitting near the bus stop. Some went into the 7-eleven as well (including the turbaned one) to get their drinks. The turbuned one even woofed at some of the kittens, issuing threat that these kittens were 'stubborn' to hang around there and anything could happen to them.

Later, Tian Chua and Hishammudin Rais came and were immediately surrounded by the anjings. Somehow these two old cats managed to do some sweet "meows" to the dogs and I saw them walking into the Dataran with others following from the back, and of course, the dogs too.

I last heard they were in Selangor Club. I did not join them because I am a 'kucing pengejut'.

I thank you RPK. You are a tiger. I am lighting up the candle from my house now

WTH is wrong with this people? are they out of their mind?

Haris been taken away because he sat at the stairs minding his own business?

WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM!!

argh im so angry! this is stupid!!

I wonder what will happen if a person goes there and lit a candle because he/she have a blind date or a date at Dataran and the police came and took them away because they were there at the wrong time and wrong place? Charged them for having a lit candle because they heard that RPK's supporters is going there to have a candle vigil?

Seems to me like we have no freedom at all to what we can do now.

Im sure their alasan is that "Perhimpunan ini tidak disahkan oleh pihak polis. Oleh kerana itu, kami mempunyai hak untuk memberkas orang2 yang berhimpun disana dan menyalakan lilin".

They really have no brains smilies/angry.gif smilies/angry.gif

This BN governmenr is bloody barbaric and gone crazy. Really disappointing.

They eat their own words promising judicial reform, more open on press freedom, etc. Now they are in reverse gear and getting worse.

Lighting a candle under peaceful atmosphere, the police took away Haris Ibrahim. Real sad... now we will see what they will charge Haris for.

In another case against the residents in bandar Mahkota, BN/UMNO keep complete silence on Grand Saga's action to re-erect barriers to close the access road, though the area had been certified belongs to Selangor state. What's worse is the police force (together with FRU) again as the running dogs covering Grand Saga people in putting barriers. Demonstrating clearly that there must be hanky panky in the contract (classified as secret) signed by federal government with this concessionaire (UMNO's cronies).

Looks like this Government wants to play tough ball. So let's play the same game plan with them. The ONLY STRATEGIC plan is NUMBERS. Assemble in masses like what was done for Bersih and Hindraf. Talking about thousands literally. Then this Government shall have something hot for them to handle. Imagine 100 riot squad troops up against 2000. Imagine 2 water-cannons trucks against another 20000. Play by the numbers. With all the international exposure, numbers can only be the inevitable winners.

Abdullah also said that he has instructed Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor to lodge a police report against DAP chairperson Karpal Singh over his allegedly seditious remarks against the Sultan of Perak.
Karpal Singh is just making a statement based upon the constitutions. Does his statement cause any rioting? Does his statement threaten the country stability? What about the Keris waving incident? Isn’t that a threat towards racial harmony!

This type of comment on Karpal Singh and elegation towards Raja Petra must not be tolerated by fellow Malaysians. When we keep quiet, the government think we support them. We elected the Pakatan Rakyat and still BN still ignore Malaysians demand. What’s wrong with this BN!!!

Is BN hopelessly incurable? Are they really that corrupted?

If they can charged karpal Singh and Raja Petra under ISA then are we deemed to be charge under ISA too!!!

Dear RPK, I'm in Penang, but my heart goes out to you and yer family. A tribute to you and all:

You’ll Never Walk Alone

When you walk through a storm
Keep your chin up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At he end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Was at Selangor Club with other like minded people. Lit a few candles on the fence of Selangor Club. The police did not like it. They invaded the Selangor Club demanding to meet the Club President. We, the club members insisted that they leave immediately since it is a private members club. If they were not club members, they would have to be signed in by a member. In the end they left. I had the opportunity to tell one of them that their paranoia now is so severe that they are even afraid of LIGHT, candle light. I told them that if they are paranoid of light then they must be SATAN, the prince of DARKNESS. They took pictures of us, so I took pictures of each and every police officer that were there. They asked me why did I take their pictures and I told them that I will do the same thing with their pictures that what they intend to do with ours. By tomorrow morning, I will know who they are, where they stay and all the necessary info that I need on them. All that training in Military intelligence will not go to waste, I assured them. They left like whimpering dogs that they are. What a waste of taxpayers money.

Yes, LET US SEND THE ALTANTUYA's murderers to HELL.

The reaction from the authorities was indeed expected. Well until another decision is made, please call for all supporters to light candles and lights in front of their houses, apartments, restaurants where they dine etc.at 8.00 p.m. for the next three nights. The authorities can come and admire the support the wide support RPK has and that people want to see justice done to Alantuya's family, and RPK and they want to maintain the dignity pf the nation. This is one way for them to know that Makkal Shakti is alive and well.

I'm keeping on wondering how on earth there were still loads of baboonz that is still supporting UMNO which is really no longer relevant nowadays. Same goes to MIC, MCA, Gerakan and PPP where most of their supremos fell kissing the tarred roads.

Our beloved nation is no longer a safe place for it's original citizen. If it's so called parlimentary democratic country, why on earth there were no freedoom to speak out any ruling federal government wrongdoings and freedom in terms of moving around by doing our own business. Me and my cousin were there at Dataran Merdeka around 9.00pm due to heavy traffic.
We didnt see any candle lightings except for those "blue dogs" surrounding the
Dataran. Managed to chit chat with others and in that small place that we gathered, there were 3 different races ie Malay, Indians and Chinese. This goes to shows that we are all united whenever there is a "crisis". Then one Pak cik came and told that that Tian Chua, Marina & others were all in Selangor Club and some went to join them.
What a sore loser this Gomen is! Cant we ever have a peaceful gathering
without them hogging around us ! Shame on them !
Now the stupid Gomen wants to charge Karpal Singh for Sedition Acts. Dont they have better
things to do instead of wasting their time and our monies on charging others not in their
cronies list? I dont see the Gomen charging their cronies for "kurang ajar" or "biadap" ?

At 3am I went to sleep in anger and disgust smilies/angry.gif
To you who were there within the vicinity of Dataran and encountered "si baju biru", I salute you for your courage. "Si Baju Biru" should be looking for Sharlinie and the rest of the missing kids rather than charging at innocent people in a peaceful gathering smilies/angry.gif

Micheal Chick,
I like your artful presentation. Very nice indeed. One should be sent to the Star Thumbnails and hopefully it would be posted .

Yes, Read that Harris was also questioned last night. The police have nothing to do. Harris was just enjoying the evening air in Datatran, is it an offence?
I thnk if you are carrying condom in dataran merdeka, you would be charged for carrying offensive 'weapons'. The police sudah hilang akal already.
Simply go on catching the wrong persons for the wrong reasons. But to catch corrupts , robbers or snatch thieves, they hilang themselves!!!

The gomen, judiciary system & police force followed the rules of no one except themselves, and preserved their personal honor above all else.

They would humble themselves to no one, neither a man nor a God. They were proud of their absolute independence, their human power; they had limitless self-confidence and refused to bow down to any authority.

Indeed, the sin of Iblis (Satan) was his arrogant refusal to humble himself to the will of Allah. He believed himself of elevated status - better than any other creation - and he continues to whisper to us, encouraging our pride, arrogance, love of wealth and status. We must always remember that we are nothing - we have nothing - except what Allah blesses us with. We can do nothing of our own power. That’s what is happening in BN gomen, judiciary system and police force in Malaysia.

If they are arrogant and proud in this life, Allah will put them in their place and teach them humility in the next life, by giving them a humiliating punishment. Better that they practice humility now, before Allah alone and among our fellow human beings.

Police fire tear gas at Cheras residents
Andrew Ong & Syed Jaymal Zahiid | May 8, 08 1:48pm
It appears that no end is in sight in the stand-off between the determined Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) residents and an equally determined toll operator Grand Saga Sdn Bhd.

To all of you who were there last night, I want to salute you!!! Im here in sabah can only light the candles at my own place. Why is our country becoming like this? Why the police doing this? There are so many hideous crimes happening around us, kidnapping, rape, murder and the only thing the police can or dare or capable is to chase, arrest, manipulate, scare, innocent country loving citizens!!!!! Can we set up a time for all to light a candle or do something together? Might not be necessary to get together, just something simultaneously at out own area. It will be a good way to show our concern....and also a good opportunity to tell your neighbours about what's going on. Eventhough we can shout and scream the injustice, the stupidity of our present government here in MT, but it will only limit to us who are members, bloggers and fellow surfers on the net. There are still many many people out there whose mind is blank about what's the REAL situation in our country. We should do something, RPK has done a huge favour for us, to raise the stake and consciousness not only in Malaysia but internationally, so don’t just stop there, and the most important thing is we need to expand the effect. I just felt very very sad, and down. The only piece of good new is at least RPK is back home resting. Way to go, RPK.

I just wish I knew the stuff that RPK knew so I can post some 'seditious' stuff as well.

Most Malaysian's are not scared anymore.. throw us all in la .. as Anwar said... jail sudah penuh.

The fight goes on, its sad but a hard long fight towards true democracy. Where is the next RPK? We need more!

I want to be one, too bad i'm not as articulate or hardworking to write stuff, even writing this took me 10 minutes

In Sabah we too held our candle light vigil . It is not directly for RPK , but due to power outage, which is as common as having our three meals a day .

Thank God you are out of detention . Always remember as long as one is alive , he can carry on the fight .We salute you RPK .

Perhaps if i was near dataran, i would have brought along my cheap rm80 guitar, and light one candle...

there use to be this slow song that goes...

"Is it better to light, just one little candle in the dark?
Just one little candle that shines so bright in the dark?"

Hey does anyone remember what and who sang this song??

oh, then suddenly I might get arrested and charge for singing a SEDITIOUS song??

hey what says u NAJIB??
