by donaldmensing I have to say RPK is on to something here. While the majority sees the incarceration and injustice done onto him by his prosecutors; While some cry out loud for his freedom and the hardcore supporters condemns the government; While some see this as a gameplay by the guilt-ridden
Deputy PM- I see a strategic opportunity. An opportunity to play this situation like a game of chess - where strategy/tactics and patience triumphs supremely. To summarize, absorbing RPK into jail/ISA by the government is like clenching hot amber in their palm. Sure they stop the barn from catching fire but an amber in your hands leaves a permanent 3rd degree burn. I think RPK will prove more 'effective' inside a jail being incarcerated by injustice by the government than he is free fighting small skirmishes with his article on Malaysia-Today.net. I finally understands how RPK thinks - and boy is he a brilliant tactician. When RPK was free all he could do to fight the government is giving the public a piece of his mind about the federal government. Sure he condemns the Altantuya's case, corruptions, misappropriations, etc with strong language and speculated evidence but these are all skirmishes in a big battle. I think he realise that though he is garnering alot of support and wave writing on his blog - it is all short of another tsunami. When a skirmish is won the same cannot be said about the battle. I am not claiming that RPK is consciously putting himself out there as bait for the government (though it could be a substance of argument) but it is more realistic to say that RPK noticed how tremendously his predicament and incarceration has shook Malaysia and therefore choose to not post bail. I think when he was caught he realised how much media attention he is garnering by being the living evidence/proof himself that the government is indeed misappropriating their power. Now, his articles about the corruption, injustice, crookedness, etc are not just empty sentiments, they are no longer just empty statements with little substance, they are no longer just batterment in hatred but all of his old articles, statements, sentiments, etc have now grown and substantiate themselves. When he was clumsily incarcerated by his opponents they have ALL MATERIALISED! His prosecutors are now like helpless flies in the jaws of a venus fly trap. Want prove? Note how slow it is to log into Malaysia-Today.net now. Why? Because EVERYBODY wants to read RPK's article entitled "Let's Send Altantuya's Murderer's to Hell". I am convinced Malaysia-today.net is utilizing just as much bandwidth if not more than any mainstream media websites and YET it is flooded. Still not convinced? Answer this – how many of you have read the prosecution of RPK and went directly Googling the "Let's Send Altantuya's Murdere's to Hell" article? How many of you catch drift of the prosecution and suddenly yearning so much to read the article RPK wrote? How many of you heard of that story and immediately hunt for the closest machine connected to the internet to visit Malaysia-today.net? Or how many of you telling your friends and family to read RPK's article? I have done all of the above. The reason why RPK's predicament works is because people are curious to know what the hell he wrote in his article that the government claims to be seditious or what did he do that makes it necessary for the government to channel all their resources to suppress RPK. Because the principle is easy (if you don't see it already) - the best marketing strategy in the world is not advertisement but CURIOUSITY. You don't go tell people how good your product is but you MAKE them want to know and curious about your product. You make them wonder why everbody has your product and they don't. In the same analogy, RPK is making the people wonder the very same way. Sure, RPK should fight for his freedom and many of us wants him freed. Hardcore supporters may cry and yelp. It is not unreasonable to ask for his freedom. I know! I know! I know! But take a deep breath and see the opportunity here!! Like a game of chess you sacrifice pieces to checkmate. Like a game of chess the objective is not to win small skirmishes but to kill the king! I think RPK knows there are opportunities to be reaped when he is incarcerated. Without posting bail he has escalated the severity of the situation into the next level. It is a finely played move against the movement who wants him silenced. Sacrificing his freedom in the short term to drive a large point home into the hearts of ALL MALAYSIANS in the long run and let the incriminators dig their own grave. At this point, his prosecutors is caught between a rock and a hard place with little Aces to left in their hands to play with. He has refused bail and for that the whole Malaysia is paying close attention to his incarceration. In summary, he sacrificed freedom to buy the attention of the entire nation. But the opportunity of a checkmate does not end there - there are more benefits to reap if he could hold on until the court proceedings. If RPK could hold until the Court proceedings then his unjust prosecution will get even more national limelight and even break through into the international news media. CNN and Reuters have already caught wind of this whole predicament. Visit their website and you can see RPK's picture and in their article RPK is played with a tone of a freedom fighter rather than a criminal like the government claims him to be. Wait till October the rest of the international media like Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, NBC, BBC, CCTV, etc will ride this story all around the world. Imagine the international pressure the federal government and those who prosecute him will endure at that time. RPK can be the next Anwar in 1990s. The best way for revenge is to make them eat their own medicine. You know what could be the ultimate pressure? I hope Altantuya's father catch wind of RPK's situation. When Dr. Shaariibuu, a father of a murdered daughter learn of an innocent man going into jail to defend his daughter - imagine the alliance these two man can forge! It may not be to my surprise if Mongolia's Prime Minister will politicise RPK's incarceration for defending a Mongolian. When that happens RPK will have the backing of the Mongols, the descendents of the great conquerer: Ganges Khan! Okay, maybe that is too much to ask but if you think about it - the least that could happen is RPK will get the support of Dr. Shaariibuu. Which is a pretty big ACE up on RPK's sleeve for sure. Imagine the amount of cold sweat his prosecutors will perspire. Dr. Shaariibuu, give him your alliance. And those are the reasons why RPK goes to hell for.
