Most everyone who are close to RPK are in the court house now so I'm sure they have no time to read your comments and give you all the legal details. This is a leap of faith for RPK. i would seriously suggest that CIMB not be used for the purpose of putting the money in. Why would you want to support any relatives of 666 . For all we know, they could manipulate the account and instead of you obtaining the correct amount donated to you, it would be lesser.

You are absolutely right, grant. Ramai yang memandai-mandai. Just quickly donate Rm1.00 into the given account. Itu pun susah sangat ke nak buat? If you do as told and put in RM1.00, EVEN IF the acc holder is a fake and someone laughs all the way to the bank with RM50,000.00 or whatever, at least you lose only one ringgit and not 100, 88, 1000 or whatever your lucky number is. But the way i see it, please have more faith in the team, the account no and name was posted by labisman, and there is no alert that this site has been hacked. So just follow la. No posting can be done without going through the handful of minders of this website.

The bit about CIMB freezing the account lagi kelakar. They can certainly do that, but AT WHAT COST to them? Won't the world know about it within 5 minutes of it happening? In any case, where is our makkal shakti? Our people power? Do not deposit into CIMB because they make from this? You do the math. It's a savings account, and withdrawals can be made anytime for any amount. You think mr Visvalingam is going to attempt to make some extra RM16.39 by keeping the donations for the next 2 months? You think RPK and his team will LET CIMB make RM16.39 by not withdrawing ALL that has been donated within a week? If anything, CIMB will be suffering because they will be saddled with a lot of RM1.00 deposits, the staff will have unnecessary extra work, the computer systems overloaded, things they can well do without.

Please kawan2, if we really want to help RPK in the way he wants us to help him, just put RM1.00 into the cimb account labisman has posted in here, as soon as possible. I just got to know from Malaysiakini that RPK has refused to post bail of 5k which means he has to spend his time behind bar until Oct 6 when the trial comes to court. I am very sadden by this. I think the main point we should make here is less about footing the bail as it is a show of support for RPK. Even if it never gets used to bail him out, I would like for whoever is in charge of the account to take the money and wave it in front of Najib's face to show that the rakyat are solidly behind RPK.

Just got back and went straight to CIMB in Taman seri gombak, however all the machines were down and they refuse to accept the money over the counter by chopping the bank in slip as done by other banks when the system is down claiming that they will not be able to balance. I wonder if all CIMB branches were system down or only this branch. Im think they did it on purpose as they did not want to allow people to bank in in support for RPK.

I was working in a bank for 20 years and never does a bank refuse to accept deposits even when the system is down.

Anyone else had the same problem?

my take, BNM is clamping down the said account holder and his account due to high transactions of depository...

my proposal - open several accounts (Maybank, Public Bank, etc) to spread the traffic. This will also provide more accessibility to others who hvnt donated... definitely they cant close all the banks and if they can, by then that would be amount to a gargantuan sum.

Re: Update at 5.30pm to call off donation campaign.
Pls don't stop the donation campaign. The excess money can be used for disbursement for the trial altho legal fees is FOC (I assume). There are a lot of other costs involved in a case eg transport, obtaining evidence, courier charges, photocopies, etc. Also can be used to buy laptops, computers and servers, upgrade and maintain MT site. The MT staff needs to be paid too. We have all been wanting to contribute for a long time. We are happy to be able to contribute for the first time.

Before donating to charity, please use part of the money for legal fees, getting another laptop and P.C. which have all be 'rampas' by the police, and also use the excess money to upkeep Malaysia-Today. All M-T bloggers want to help out to keep you and M-T going. We know quite a lot of funds are needed to keep the fight going for us and for the country.

1). the contribution was made up for the political cause (against the corrupt practice of the gov of the day) and I don't think WE (the contributors) want to make charity in the 1st place. personally, I know where and when I need to do the 'amal jariah' for myself.

2). i think, to give the excess money to the charitable home is a classic idea. Hey, even most of the TV programs does it this way. The charity of this nation should be handle by gov. but, today's contribution is for political and not charity.

3). IMHO, please save the excess money to be use for other legal expenses of this particular court case.

or, pls consider to save the excess money so that we could use it as the 'Fund For Bail' (i.e. to bail any case of 'tangkapan menyertai perhimpunan' or any cases related to the 'rakyat' causes in the future). I think we should continue the contribution as a continuously efforts because we need this kind of Fund to be always ready for those can't afford to pay their bail money, themselves. let's start this from here!

Dear RPK, please don't give what has been collected from the people to charity, at least not all of it. The money was provided to you because we believe in you; because you believe in us. We're all in this together and we want you to be successful and to lead a happy life. Use the money to pay legal fees, fines, buy computers, upgrade the website, go on holiday... it doesn't matter. As long as it makes your life easier, that's what it's for.

I do my own donations to charity so I wish you would use this money to make life better for yourself and your family. You of all people deserve it and I believe this is what we, the people, believe when we made our way to the banks and banking websites today.

Today RPK stands for the justice of the brutal killing of Altantuya, inspired by her father's recent plea for judiciary competence and plght for humanity towards the poor health condition of his grandson, who still cries out for his mother.

My heart cries out for the poor old man who has made several trips to Malaysia but still in vain.

The least we Malaysians can do is to reach out to the poor boy for his medical treatment iin the REAL SPIRIT of MALAYSIANS CARE.

Suggest some of the excess money be used for the purpose.

I arrived from Manila this afternoon and i found my inbox flooded with sms about RPK. So when I reached KL Sentral CIMB to do my part, all i got was "Mesin Tergendala". I walked into the bank and wanted to deposit it over the counter, the respond i got from the bank officer is "Maaf kami tidak terima deposit cash dari counter, mesti guna mesin untuk deposit duit". I find this really ridiculous, we are walking in with money for the bank and they wont accept. Why are they hired to sit at the counter doing nothing while the machine have to do everything?

Anyways, I have done my part as a Rakyat.. RM 70.. RM 10 from each fellow Malaysians in Manila including myself.

Our prayers is out for u RPK & his family. Godbless

Dear MT committees, The fund should not be stopped as MT should start creating a fund to support blogger who are haul to court. This fund will only be used for the bloggers who are commited to uphold justice for the rakyat.

Please reopen the fund raising as this would not be the first and last of such cases as more will be to come until the new Federal government is in place lead by our new savior Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his BR team mates.

If they didn't murder Altantuyah, why must they take action against RPK? Kenapa takut just because RPK said a simple sentence "send Altantuyah's murderers to hell". RPK didn't state anyone's name. It could be anyone that murdered Altantuyah. If they are not the murderers, they wont even have to bother what RPK is saying.

I'm too late - couldn't get on this site for hours - but it's not fair to close the accounts now. I suggest we set up an RPK fund for ALL unjust political detentions. We'll appoint RPK to decide which case to tackle first. If my suggestion is acceptable, I'll send my first contribution within the next few days.

Secondly, will PKR, PAS, and DAP help by accepting our contributions for the RPK Fund for Political Detainees? If they would, we could go directly to their nearest offices/headquarters to hand over the money (be prepared to give receipts, however).

It is the matter of RPK principle, and collecting excess wouldn't be appreciated by him. I just came across the above message posted at hijau-sirih blog spot, but would the MT's team give another day for those who want to make a contribution but have yet to do so. It's too late in the night(It's 2:15AM now!!) for me to call up friends and relatives about this announcement by the MT's team. Moreover, I still feel that the excess ought to be put aside as a fund for those in the future who may face the same predicament as RPK does now. We have started a tsunami of support, not just financially, but a tsunami of HOPE. Do not give a way this hope. IF RPK or Marina want to do charity, we will call for another round just for charity.

The money we pleadged is for this HOPE, and the spirit of HOPE is overwhelming and strong, and it has went around the world afew times already. PLEASE keep the mnoney, as this is only the BEGINNING OF OUR HOPE, and we have a long way to go for RPK.

Anway, even if you stopped the asking, money will continue to come in all over the world, this tsunami cannot be stopped. If you closed the account, a lot will go missing "in the process" as the bank will not be able to credit it into the specific account., then it becomes unclaimed money, if we are lucky.
