They decided that the only way to grab back Selangor and ensure that Selangor remains in Malay hands would be to isolate the non-Malays. And this would be done by kicking out Kuala Lumpur from Selangor and then by creating a new ‘Malay city’ called Shah Alam.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

I have been attending quite a few Umno brainstorm sessions, organised for the specific purpose of conducting a postmortem on the 8 March 2008 general elections. Of course, not all were open forums like the Hotel Singgahsana and Holiday Villa ones. Many were closed-door sessions. Nevertheless, there is no such thing as ‘closed-door’ to Malaysia Today. We not only have our tentacles in the meeting rooms and boardrooms but in the bedrooms as well.

For example, one closed-door session chaired by Muhammad son of Muhammad, the ‘expired’ politician who managed to convince an Australian court that he speekee no Ingleesh, and handpicked by Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to head the ‘Grab Back Selangor from the Opposition’ campaign, came to the conclusion that Malaysia Today was a contributing factor in Barisan Nasional’s disastrous performance.

And what should they do about it? The Vice-Youth Chief of Umno PJ Utara came out with the perfect solution. “Arrest Raja Petra!” suggested the sorry excuse for a Melayu Baru. Yes, why are the Chinese making so much noise about the high Malay and low non-Malay quota in local universities? Can’t the non-Malays see that education is wasted on the Malays? The more you educate the Malays, the more stupid they become. The Melayu Lama like Tun Ghaffar Baba, who only received a Standard Six education, have proven to be cleverer than these Melayu Baru. It is better that the Chinese and Indians are denied places in local universities than they become stupid like the ‘educated’ Malays -- especially if they receive an education in universities headed by BTN operatives like Nordin Kardi.

And why do these ‘highly-educated’ Umno people want me arrested? Because the voters exercised their democratic right in a general election. It seems it is a crime for the voters to vote for any other than Umno and Barisan Nasional. Why then hold the elections? Why not Umno and Barisan Nasional just abolish the elections and the government rule perpetually? Then no crime can be committed because no one would then be able to vote and therefore they will not be able to vote against Umno and Barisan Nasional.

Has it not occurred to these Melayu Baru that not only is voting your right but voting for whomsoever you like is also your right? There has been no crime committed here. So why must I be arrested when what the voters did was merely to exercise their democratic right as enshrined in the Federal Constitution of Malaysia? Read the Constitution properly. It says that elections will be held after three years and before five years from the last election and all eligible citizens may register as voters and exercise their right to vote. It does not say anywhere in the Constitution that the voters must vote for Umno or Barisan Nasional.

As I said, education is wasted on these Melayu Baru from Umno and the Chinese and Indians should thank Umno for the biased New Economic Policy and the manipulation of racial quotas in local universities. I, for one, do not wish for my children or grandchildren to receive a local university education if the end product would be graduates with the narrow and outdated mentality the likes of these Umno Melayu Baru.

Anyway, back to the Umno brainstorm sessions I attended. The latest one was yesterday at the Holiday Villa in Subang and the guest of honour was Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (see photographs here ). First of all, Muhammad son of Muhammad instructed the Umno branch and division heads and committee members to boycott the event, so the hall was not full in spite of it being quite a small hall (they actually announced this in the gathering). Most of the key people were absent save for those such as Tamrin Ghaffar, Mazlan Harun, Fahmi Ibrahim, Kadar Shah, etc. -- who most of you have probably never heard of. I would not go so far as to classify them as ‘expired goods’ but they would certainly not be in the same league as the powerbrokers, kingpins and warlords.

The theme of the entire session was that the Malays have lost political power. In 2004 there were 119 Malay Members of Parliament if the number of seats that Umno and PAS won are combined. This time around the number of Malay Parliamentarians were reduced to 101. They very cleverly left out the 20 Malay Members of Parliament from PKR which would bring the 2008 total to 121, which is higher than in 2004.

Maybe Umno considers PAS a Malay party. Therefore the 23 PAS Parliamentarians are included in the head count -- while PKR is considered a Chinese-Indian party so the 20 Malay Parliamentarians from PKR are considered ‘non-Malays’. Anyway, the bottom-line is: there was an increase in Malay Members of Parliament this time around, so this ‘Malays have lost their political power’ argument is an outright lie. The figures speak for themselves. We have more Malay Parliamentarians now than in 2004. Period.

But does it really matter what race these Members of Parliament are? What is important is that they do their job, serve the people, and run this country well. I would rather have a sincere, dedicated, honest, hardworking, and God-fearing Chinese, Indian, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist Wakil Rakyat than a slimeball, scumbag, crooked, hypocritical, manipulative, Malay-Muslim whose sole purpose in life is to cheat, rob, rape, plunder and murder people who get in their way and interfere with their plans. And is this not what we have witnessed over 50 years, in particular the last 40 years or so since they ousted the perfect Malay gentleman called Tunku Abdul Rahman?

While on the subject of the Tunku, allow me to talk about what was revealed at yesterday’s session in Holiday Villa. Other than Tengku Razaleigh, who read out his speech from a prepared text, the other two speakers were Mazlan Harun and Fahmi Ibrahim. Mazlan is the son of the infamous Datuk Harun Idris, the engineer and architect of the equally infamous ‘May 13’ race riots in 1969. Fahmi Ibrahim was Datuk Harun’s political secretary.

The MC had a very strange way of introducing Tengku Razaleigh. The MC, who spoke too much and spoke more than what he should, introduced Tengku Razaleigh as a very short man and short men, said the MC, are known to be very smart. Now, what has a man’s height got to do with how smart he is? Next, the MC said that Tengku Razaleigh may be considered too old at 71, but that does not mean he still does not have a few good years left in him.

I was beginning to wonder whether the MC was trying to promote Tengku Razaleigh or whether Muhammad son of Muhammad had slipped him a few Australian Dollars with instructions to sabotage the event by running down Tengku Razaleigh.

Fahmi Ibrahim then spoke about how the Malays once lost political power in 1969 and Tun Razak, who had ousted the Tunku and had taken over as Prime Minister, summoned Datuk Harun and told him to come out with a plan on how the Malays can grab back political power and prevent this fiasco ever happening again.

They decided that the only way to grab back Selangor and ensure that Selangor remains in Malay hands would be to isolate the non-Malays. And this would be done by kicking out Kuala Lumpur from Selangor and then by creating a new ‘Malay city’ called Shah Alam. They sat down to redraw the Kuala Lumpur boundary and two weeks later they submitted the new Kuala Lumpur master plan to Tun Razak.

The federal government then annexed Kuala Lumpur and in the same process the non-Malays were ‘kicked out’ of Selangor. Shah Alam was then developed and flooded with Malays to dilute whatever non-Malays left in Selangor. In fact, constituencies like Bangsar-Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur, which had a majority Chinese-Indian population and which the opposition always won, were also diluted when Malay areas like Pantai, Sungai Pancala (near Kepong), Segambut Dalam (near Jalan Ipoh) and Kampong Pasir (in Old Kelang Road), were merged with Bangsar-Brickfields to become Lembah Pantai.

But now, lamented Fahmi Ibrahim, the Malays are also voting opposition, so these ‘Malay-majority’ areas have fallen to the opposition. This plan works well when the non-Malays vote opposition while the Malays vote government. But when the Malays also vote opposition then the result would be like what we saw on 8 March 2008.

The Umno ‘masterminds’ appear lost. They faced this same problem in 1969 and they solved it then by redrawing the constituencies so that there would be no non-Malay majority areas. And where they can’t do much, like in Kuala Lumpur, they then remove Kuala Lumpur from Selangor. Selangor would then remain in Malay hands while Kuala Lumpur, which will fall into the hands of the non-Malays, can still be controlled through Dewan Bandaraya, the Datuk Bandar, the Minister of Federal Territory, etc. This means, even if all the seats in Kuala Lumpur fall to the opposition, the government will still be able to retain control -- like what is happening now even though 10 out of 11 seats are under opposition control.

Another revelation of Fahmi Ibrahim was that the late Agong, who was then the Sultan of Selangor, cried as he signed over Kuala Lumpur to the federal government. This is actually true and most Malaysians saw this live on TV. The Sultan was terribly unhappy at having to hand over a big chunk of very valuable Selangor territory to the federal government. But there was really nothing much His Majesty could do. The federal government of Tun Razak and the Selangor State Government of Datuk Harun wanted to get rid of Kuala Lumpur so that Selangor could be ‘saved’. Almost 40 years on and they have discovered, much to their horror, that this plan worked for only one generation. One generation later and this senjata sudah makan tuan.

So, now, they are conducting postmortems all over the country to figure out what went wrong. But what they are saying gives an impression that they do not yet have their fingers on the pulse. They are going around in circles like headless chickens trying to figure out what to do. And they keep reflecting on May 1969 when, according to them, the same thing happened. But they had solved the problem in 1969. How come, now, the problem has cropped up again, after almost 40 years or one generation?

Yes, that is how Umno does its postmortems and how it is taking corrective measures to restore the ‘lost Malay political power’. And Hishammuddin Hussein ‘apologises’ that the Chinese misunderstood his keris drama when he was only demonstrating ‘Malay culture’ and which the Chinese should get used to because it may happen again in December this year. And Umno talks about how to grab back the 'Malay states lost to Chinese hands' like how it happened once before in 1969. And Umno tries to sabotage the five opposition-led state governments by squeezing their finances so that the states can be brought to the brink of bankruptcy.

Yes, the more Umno talks, the more damage they create. And the more Umno steals the fives states’ money, the deeper the hole becomes with which we can bury Umno for eternity. Keep talking, Umno. Keep sabotaging the five states. But don’t forget to also look out the window at the very severe economic Tsunami, the extremely high inflation, and the serious food shortage that is coming fast to our shores. By the time Umno wakes up it will be like the morning after Boxing Day when the Tsunami hit this region. There will be nothing left to save amongst those thousands of bodies floating in the flooded fields and rivers. By then it will not matter who is running this country because there may not be any country left to run. And when that happens, the new four-letter word on every Malaysian’s lips will be U-M-N-O.

UMNO is history. UMNO is buried. UMNO is dying slowly. Specially more true when you still have these sickening peolple running around playing dirty, malicious racial politics. You can bet for the next 20 or 30 years the non-Malay communities would never believe nor trust UMNO again. For those who do, that's because they need to rub shoulders to get to the Ringgit only. despite the new political landscape since the last GE, Malaysian politics NEVER change. It's all about RACE, and RACE only. Are we Malaysians? No, We are only Malays, Chinese, Indiands or whatever. We can never be Malaysians. Not because we do not wish to. But because these politicians deny us.

The financial, economic, food and rising prices tsunamis is what will break the politics of the nation, no matter who comes to power. I think they can even imagine the scale of damage that will happen. Being the hardest hit, malays will revolt against the govt and it won't be save for umno members to leave their homes. Thereafter umno, humpty dumpty, and everything that they stand for, cannot be put back again.

RPK,
I have to say that whatever respect that I have for Ku Li is diminishing by the hour as he goes with this kind of racist campaign. if all that he can offer to UMNO is regaining so called Malay supremacy, you of all persons must be more forthcoming in cutting down this kind of politics. Please use your influence to counter this. It is really so unhealthy n so dangerous. we shouldn't assume that everyone is as sober as you or me when it comes to race relations.
Ku Li may not have that big an audience, but u need just a couple of sparks to start a fire.
Ku Li, please stop this kind of politicking. If you want to attack the opposition, go ahead but not the racial card. BN lost because of its own doing and UMNO is the main culprit. RPK's conclusion on the number of Malay seats is spot on. Nonsensical to leave out PKR reps. but even if there are fewer malay reps, that is really not the issue. we want responsible, clean and hardworking reps.

TDM should be blamed for the current low quality of the graduates from local universities, in the late sixties and early seventies there was a serious lack of Bumiputra graduates, TDM has said "No problem, we can open more Universities and manufacture Bumi graduates, if they are not qualified, we can lower the entry qualifications". Well, we see the end results today, most of the thousands of non-employable graduates are Bumiputras.

At the rate things are going, the Malay community no longer allow themselves to be 'kerbau dicucuk hidung'.

We non-Malays have seen our Malay brethren especially the younger generations, moving away from this Umno culture. They have learned to be resilient, to ask questions and have an open mind. These are the Malay breeds that Umno is afraid off and that is why the party continue to harp on Malay sentiments to desperately hang on to power.

No, the younger generation of Malays have their own mind. They know what's best for them, their family, country and the realisation to maintain harmony with other races. They no longer 'percaya bulat bulat' with what Umno politicians feed them.

Come march with us non-Malays, our Malay brethren. Let's bury Umno's racist and berat sebelah politics.

Every thing has a cycle of up and down. The more you create the barriers to halt this process the faster it will fall.

It is all about energy and entropy. Why Good triumph Evil is that Good requires less energy and Evil requires more.

The more irrelevant artificial barriers like religion, race, , sex, age, status, height, weight, etc., when in constituting a policy for ALL is EVIL.

There was an article where one of fellow Malaysian was mentioning that the Chinese and Indian should give in to PAS aspiration because if they don’t they got more to lose and the Malays got nothing to lose either case.

Don’t be hypocrites like this fellow Malaysian; say no more to this way of thinking. The fact that you lose least; does not mean you have gain. Only my six year old child thinks like this.

When we allow evil to prevail; there is no need to question, in the end, who can gain; but only how much loses that all.

Why not look at a better alternative to see how much we all can gain.

The new paradigms of Malaysia is awaken that divisive politics is no longer relevant. Let move forward and grow up. Make sure, all have the responsibility to go forward not backward.

The world is getting smaller so it is our responsibility to meet the global challenges…

I am fortunate to travel to most of the countries on this earth. I lived 38 years overseas out of my 48 years life. I find those multiracial countries that think inclusively becomes small and self-destructive. Those who are inclusive, all the citizen do much better.

SAY NO to all that purport going backward and not forward. Simply it is the right thing to do.

How useful are those pow-wow sessions conducted by UMNO depend on how sincere are they wanting to solve the problem. What if they discover Malaysians regardless of races are against having racial parties? Are these parties prepared to change? If UMNO is not prepared to change, why bother conducting post-mortem.

From the sound of what have been said so far about, it looks like the UNMO sessions merely looking for scape goat. It is the blame game that they are playing.

So I know you will argue it is none of our business since we are not UMNO members. You are right but as Malaysian we will be affected by UMNO decision because you choices of leaders will hold some of the country top positions.

RPK you are very smart and wise. Hidup RPK. One thing is very clear, from the history and from the lesson above, whatever the dynasty that people have created or started, if they run with humanity, humility, with universal value they will stay there, if not, like BN, Umno, they do all kind of short cut, commit crime like corruption, murder, power abuse, arrogant, greedy, etc, they are bound to run into trouble like what other dictator even Bush face, they are only good for a while, and when the election come, they are history.
So, what is the lesson, if you have a universal value system, you do per the principle base management of the system, or a system that work, and enrich all,
irrespective of race, religion, gender etc, justice, equality,

So, there is no other way except with dignity, integrity, justice for all, it's not taht you are smart that you can govern, but its priciple base that will make it work, only way, everywhere you look at the history, wisdom came when one do away with the greed, hatred, else, the greed and hatred will steer you away to do evil things. so, instead will have to cultivate generosity, loving kindness to gain the wisdom, for governance, it's that base on principle....
no other way

In the days of the 60's, professionalism was the word of the day , in management, in leadership from school to college. The total result of the emergence of racial politics since '69, by bigots like Harun, can only be said as the start of the destruction of the strong foundations laid about by the Tuanku.

The shocking part of this so called UMNO parody has been the emergence of a breed of leaders who have been educated in the best schools abroad where leaning a total new choice of ethics they had as eyeopeners from the lives they led in small towns and villages. Yet greed , power, corruption is multiheaded, shying aside religion comes as just for the sake to fight for divisional gains in multicutural Malaysia.

In the earlier tread,"" New Empire Of Power Deals, Cigar Clubs And Grabbing Women's Behinds"" is one example of what i mean .

UMNO wanting to look afresh , seems misdirected , or fear that they wont have the same benefits to enjoy ill gotten funds. A simple case is about BALKIS for the misappropriation. Nothing is seen for the benefit of the nation even after 50 years. ------ so the simple solution of wanting to arrest our Pete . How long more will it take the real Malays to see the truth of the so called leaders????
Can you imagine -- PKR are not Malays to UMNO and yet 90% of them are educated in the best schools abroad. What were they doing with taxpayers money out there!! What do they really know about Nation building ?????--------

Clearly UMNO is doing its damndest to sabotage the five states undr Pakatan. Apart from aborting the PORR and monorail projects in Penang, what really angered me was the announement by Datuk Nor Omar, the Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development minister that Federal funds to the five states will now be channeled through Mara. Mara? Everyone in Malaysia knows Mara's track record of handling development funds. It is like pouring taxpayers money onto a sieve. And can Mara be transparent it would be dispensing the funds fairly to all Malaysians irregardless of race or religion? After all the funds being channeled to Mara are taxpayer's money contributed by all Malaysians including non Malays. And according to Dr Mahathir, the bulk of taxes in Malaysia are paid by non Malays.

UMNO has destroyed the general psyche of the Malays. They thought by pushing the Ketuanan Melayu (KM) concept, the Malays would be grateful. But this benefited only those Malays with the connections and pedigree. The crumbs that the ordinary kampung Malays received from UMNO were the over generous quota for them to enter universities. But the downside is that even those Malays who did not qualify to enter got in. This made a mockery of those who worked very to do well in the STPM to qualify be they sons and daughters of the Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Kadazans, etc. and the Malays as well.
UMNO threw-out meritocracy out of the window.
But there are some die hard fans of this KM among Malay scholarship students sent to study overseas. This group though I believe is a small minority strongly believe that KM must prevail and UMNO is the vanguard of this idealogy.
UMNO in particular is still mired in the past. They can't reinvent themselves. The days of race based parties are over for now...unless PR self destruct through in-fighting and greed.

When I was young, I used to be very anti-establishment, government/politics. I was in my art college, when my art lecturer, Mr.Guna, told me that whether I like it or not, the very people I am against/not bothered with, could well decide the quality of life I would be living, since then day, I had woken up.

Then, I had no choice but to live with the decision made by a majority of ignorant people, which was reliant with the mass media.
Now, we are more knowledgeable. We are not ignorant. We have the alternative media. Regardless of race, we can feel and judge whats right and whats wrong.
Then, being a non-malay (I hate using this word) I had no choice but to leave the quality of my life with a Malay (head of state/minisrty/gov).
Now, in some states, if the situation is reversed, it should not be an issue, at least to the knowledgeable ones.

P.S. Thank you, Mr and Mrs.Guna (Chong Eng)

Iam Not A Malay,Chinese,Indian, D.L.L.
I am a MALAYSIAN.

RPK very analityical observation, I wonder the reason that anwar is doing the wait and see attitude in forming the federal govt if he has the nombers is he wants to see what the global impact will have on Malaysia, he will be committing political suicide if he takes over now and than the economy collapses as expected, voters will remember the hard times and have nostalgic reminders of bn good days, even forgetting the bad rubbish, look at what hapened with mahathir, your good self included, we are only human, we look back at mahathir, and see the good times when the wine was flowing, instead of all the bad thing he perpetuated, we were willing to forget, and blamed all the garbage policies and leftovers from MM TO BADAWI, who had no guts to correct the wrongs.
I suspect ANWAR IS WAITING TO SEE, HOW BADLY AFFECTED THE ECONOMY WILL BE BEFORE HE MAKES HIS MOVE. AND IT MIGHT, A BIG MIGHT AT THAT, work or not work as umno is still in disarry but it will get tougher if he leaves it for too late, if they find some excuse to jail him on some trumped up charges, with umno anything is possible, AND WE CAN FORGET ABOUT CALLING THE FEDERAL GOVT THE BN GOVT, IT IS AN UMNO GOVT, as all component parties died such horrible deaths, horrible to them not us. so the ball is in anwar's court, lets see how the game is played. smilies/grin.gif smilies/grin.gif smilies/grin.gif smilies/grin.gif smilies/grin.gif smilies/grin.gif

I hope you accept more interviews with the mainstream media because you can enlighten a broader spectrum of the public who will otherwise not be aware of important issues. RPK,
For the chinese, the general perception is that short people are smart. And there is a saying in Cantonese, "ai jai dor kai" which literally means - short people has lots of ideas.

However, this saying is usually said behind the item, i.e for gossiping la.. because some short people might get offended though it is a compliment.

Maybe the MC is trying to perli Ku Li... So what if he is smart?
It is how you use your intelligence that matters. Agree?

Caught RPK on TV1.

The interviewer tried to do a HardTalk but he is no Steven Suker. But he really got sucked-in and was given an uppercut from RPK many, many times hahaha! Anyway, the poor interviewer was not sincere in letting RPK respond properly and fully. Somehow, some parts of RPK's answers was hanging mid-air because of the many interruptions.

Obviously, the producer of the show was trying to get RPK to state certain things that presumably would put RPK in a spot and may be later used against him and other bloggers. Hah!, RPK was just too smart to fall into this obvious blatant trap.
In fact listening to the silly and leading questions, my wife and I was laughing at the interviewer more.

Though both RPK and the interviewer looked physically similar in size, for that 20 odd minutes, RPK is the giant intellectually and physically. Syabas!

To add insult to injury, Mahathir with all his failed and economically disastrous policy has connived to steal hundreds of billions.

Yes, continue to have more Government/UMNO controlled universities. Yes, continue to build more branches of UiTM for Malays only and churn out Malay graduates as how BTN/UMNO would like it. And, yes, make the government departments and GLC operate like Welfare Departments. You can eventually see that in a few more years time, all GLC's and Government will be 100% Malay, and this is how the PM talks about him being the PM for all Malaysians. Government/GLC's is used by UMNO to operate like welfare departments giving out salaries to all and sundry for doing nothing, or doing very little, jobs which can be carried out by SPM holders or lower. In another few more years, UMNO will employ all Malay graduates into Government service, providing them with welfare funds(read salary). Pretty soon, in another 10 years time, there will be 5 million Government servants, and UMNO hopes to get the votes of each and everyone of these Government servants, thus ensuring UMNO can rule in perpetuity. UMNO forgot, when it comes to such a stage, the country will become another Zimbabwe. For those not familiar with what is happening in Zimbabe, please do some research.

I'm just curious how could we ensure that the federal government starts working with the state government led by pakatan rakyat. Ever since the election, we've not seen the federal government starts working for the 5 states led by federal government. Also, why is Pakatan Rakyat focusing on taking over the federal government. As of now, the most important thing is to make sure we managed to weather through global recession and start building up the country's economy. I believe there should be some good UMNO members that want to help the country. Why don't we start working with them? It truly infuriate me when both sides of the part are unable to see the important on helping the RAKYAT. Sometimes I felt real lucky to work in USA because the government over here focus towards helping the people!!! What about my family working in Malaysia? Don't UMNO love their own Bangsa (Malay). If they truly love Malay then they should work with DAP to help the Malay. As a non-Malay, I also want everybody to led a life regardless of race or religion. What UMNO is doing is only hurting the low and middle income Malaysian!! Get the **** back to work!!!

Ketuanan Melayu is just a cover and disguise for Ketuanan UMNO. The trouble is, UMNO is starting to believe its own hype and spin. It governed the country for so long based on racial disunity, it has forgotten how to govern properly ( or never really learnt how). It is imcompetent to lead Malaysia in facing the very dangerous challenges facing it such as food shortages and price rocketing, fuel shortages, uncompetitive national economy, etc. Malaysians are facing ruin and starvation.

To all Malay Readers/elites/leaders,

1) Should you tell all Malay students that if they study hard enough, they can compete with the ethnic Chinese/Indian and get a place in Universities , and be proud of themselves OR

would you tell them that this is Tanah Melayu, it is only right that Malay has special previleges. Regardless of your academic result, the Government would reserve 70% of University place for them. And hence produce many not-so-good doctors/teachers/lawyers/accountants/Engineers/administrator and many un-employable graduates?

2) Should you tell the Malay academics & doctors that if they work hard and are good, they will be promoted to become school headmaster, head of department, professors, Dean, Directors in hospital OR

would you Malay should enjoy special previleges, the Government would reserve 70% of school headmasters, Dean/Professors in University, head of hospital for them. And result in lousy schools/lousy University where their childrens would be enrolling into, lousy hospitals in which their loved ones would be treated in?

3) Should you tell the Malay millionaires that it is 'morally wrong' to get 7% Bumi-discount to buy several "more than RM500k houses" when there are many poor peasants (Malay/bumi/Chinese/Indian/LainLain) who can't afford to buy a RM50k low-cost house, or have to pay 25-year installment for a RM50k low-cost house OR

Would you tell them that this is Tanah Melayu, all Melayu (including those who 'converted' to Melayu) would enjoy special previleges. And hence nothing wrong to get 7% discount?

4) Should you tell Malay businessmen that if they are good and competitive, they would get the contract on Government projects and can even do well and compete in other countries? OR

Would you tell them that this is Tanah Melayu, the Goverment would protect you from competition, would reserve as many government projects as possible for Malay?

Let me share with you an old Chinese saying : 慈母多败儿。
It means : Mothers who pamper and over-protect their sons would end up with 'good-for-nothing' sons.

Haix, it seems like UMNO cannot and will NOT come out from its dream. This is what i predict would happen in years to come; maybe some of you also foresaw this happening.

1) economic crisis - namely food, rising oil, slowdown economy, etc.
2) all states suffer from economic crisis, leaving people relatively worse-off.
3) come general election: total lost for BN, especially in Sabah & Sarawak.
4) Parti Rakyat gains power in government. CHange in ruling party for the 1st time in government.

Note: It seems all post-mortem are done without involvement of 'adik-adik BN' - MCA, MIC, Pergerakan.

It looks like the UMNO leaders do not understand what a Democracy is and how to run the govt and the country. The funds available belongs to the nation and the citizens who all contribute to it. The UMNO has no right to keep back the money or deny the PR states any funding just because they lost the state. The funds, should reach all the states and its citizens irrespective of the state govts political leanings. If they find this difficult to comprehend, then they should abolish all Federal taxes and let the individual state govts levy and collect the relevent taxes, including income tax. Then we can see how the UMNO led states would fare.

Why do keep talking abt Chinese and Indians who voted for the opposition? When will they start thinking that all races voted for opposition?

All races felt the petrol pinch.
All races felt the inflation.
All races felt threatened and embarassed by the UMNO's arrogance.
All races felt left out of the economic pie, save for the UMNO elites.

Yes, non-Malays felt religious extremism creeping, but for UMNO that still doesn't explain why the Malays voted the opposition right?

Economic factors outplayed the religious factors, simply because, at the end of the day, each person has to feed to his family, regardless of colour and religion.

March-8 political tsunami hit Umno & BN partners badly but the"after effects" are on the way to give that final killer-punch so that Umno & BN will take a long, long time to recover. This after effect will come in the form of scarcity and price-increase of basic food products.
With the change of world weather patterns, there will be food shortages, prices of foods will increase. People all over the world will be the victims especially the poor ones.
Due to prce increase of oil & energy, more food products are being diverted to production of bio-gas, thus creating a serious food shortage.
In Malaysia, we have our fair share of poor people who will be facing these serious problems despite govt.'s claims of a strong economy. And when these problems arrive at our country, then the goverment will face an even bigger problem.

Because, if PR doesn't take over the Federal Government, then they will not get any funds to develop their states. That is what the UMNO Government is now doing, starving the PR states of funds, funds which belong to the rakyat, but which UMNO considers as its own, just like UMNO considers Petronas money its own money, to do as they wish. And the 4 states contribute the most funds to the Federal Government.

In other words, UMNO is punishing the rakyat for voting in the "wong" party. But we will not bow down to UMNO's dirty tactics. This will only make me angry and vote for PR.

Our only choice is to vote in PR as the Federal Government, otherwise there will be no change and progress. People, go to the other non-PR states and convince the voters there to vote PR the next round.

March 8 was indeed the death knell for Umno. And RPK, u have demonstrated yet again how Umno's destruction is inevitable, and that is simply because they refused to learn. More than a month after the fact, they still haven't gotten it.

It is not doomsday for Malaysia. Like Azmi Shahrom said, it is only the end of Umno hegemony. I for one am very glad that this dirty plutocracy has been checked. Let's hope no single party can enjoy two thirds majority, for that has been the ticket to basically pillage this country.

Umno is already a dirty word with many of us. I dislike Umno more than I dislike Manchester United, and that is saying something.

Why? Because of Mat Tyson n million dollar trip, his shoddy treatment of his wife. Rahim Thamby Chik and his penchant for nubile chicks, Ali Rustam and his utter stupidity, Hishamuddin and Najib cos both these fellas are spineless asses who just play to the crowd.

Zam and his irrelevant verbal diarrhoea, Radzi/Azmi/Shahidan for the Perlis power tussle, Azeez for Putera (who?), Noraini who despite being educated, still plays to the gallery.

Khir Toyo (Pembangkang Sifar) Badruddin Amiruldin (God has punished you), Khairy Jamaludin, Mohd Said (Bocor), Nazri(bodoh bodoh bodoh) all luminaries of Umno.

Dr M for allowing all these things to happen. Anwar for having sat quietly until he was the one persecuted. U see, the whole culture of Umno is screwed up.

I'm not saying DAP is much better.Or PKR or PAS for that matter, but the good thing about Pakatan Rakyat is that these are not all ideologically aligned partners. They can see eye to eye for now cos they have a common enemy.

However, the three groups in PR are also checks on each other. I hope they are bright enuf to see that a transparent govt that puts the PEOPLE before the PARTY, is what counts with the electorate now.

WE've all seen the result of these BN folks putting PARTY first. For 50 years.

Dear RPK,

Great, you said it again.....

"the more Umno talks, the more damage they create. And the more Umno steals the fives states’ money, the deeper the hole becomes with which we can bury Umno for eternity. Keep talking, Umno. Keep sabotaging the five states." -

As I had said earlier, if BN is still on...
"self denial mode" = Autopilot locked-on "Self-Destruct" mode, so just sit back & watch the action !

"By the time Umno wakes up it will be like the morning after Boxing Day when the Tsunami hit this region. There will be nothing left to save amongst those thousands of bodies floating in the flooded fields and rivers. By then it will not matter who is running this country because there may not be any country left to run. And when that happens, the new four-letter word on every Malaysian’s lips will be U-M-N-O."....

When there is nothing left in the country, only then would emerge honest leaders/politicians...

It will be a new dawn of the new United Malaysian National Organisation consisting of Chinese, Malay, Indian, Ibans, etc members to reconstruct this once Great nation created by "Bapa Malaysia"

Cheers everyone !

Responsibilities..!

3 factors we brought back along to face God The Al-Mighty ;

a) Our Faith in life
b) Our Knowledge
c) The prayers of our sons/daughters

Every deeds to the very seconds in our lifespan is questionable. You want to deny, trick, ignore, avoid, abstain one-self from even knowing it or to politicise it to a certain degree, its all a matter of choice.

What was left for us to adhere and hold tightly to our best abilities are references and guides to the path of righteousness and that is :

a) Al-Quran
b) Hadist
c) Brain

Do bare in mind that Prophet Muhammad(pubh) was sent NOT only to the Arabs, the nobles or the Moslems BUT to all mankind and the genies as well. We are indeed the sons of Adam.

Why the different laws being impose to mankind? What we need is the exposure and an indepth to the above with the highest tolerence, co-operativeness and respect above anything else.

IF we are ashamed to just admit the 3 above, dont even try to call ourselves a Muslims. Period.

Islam is a faith of Peace to all mankind.

Dear RPK, my humble apology should this post is inappropriate to the subject topic but i believe the path to AMMAR MAKRUF NAHI MUNKAR is always for us to go back to the simple fundamental basics of Islam.

May Allah bless your efforts to it. Amin
