(The Sun) KUALA LUMPUR (April 7, 2008): Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak wants those with information on the act of sabotage by party members, which had caused Barisan Nasional (BN) to lose Perak and Kedah in the general election, to lodge official reports so that the disciplinary committee can investigate them.

He said as of now, the information available is only hearsay.

Najib said they must write to secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor immediately.

There were some views and descriptions given to us but for the disciplinary committee to take action, it must have a written report," he said, when asked whether they had identified those involved in sabotaging the party, as mentioned by prime minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi yesterday.

There were some voices. We have heard from party members as well as candidates who had lost (in the election). But this is not enough for us to initiate disciplinary proceedings towards any members.”

Yesterday, Abdullah said acts of sabotage had taken place in 14 parliamentary and 22 state constituencies in the two states during the March 8 General Election.

Speaking to reporters at the 30th anniversary conference of the KL Regional Centre for Arbitration, Najib, who is also deputy prime minister, said he will go to the ground in his capacity as management committee chairman and hold meetings with all division and branch leaders.

We will listen to all their views and during this process, if they voice out any dissatisfaction towards members of their own divisions or if there were any allegations on misbehaviour among party members, I will suggest they write a report.

If there are written reports, each one of them will be forwarded to the disciplinary committee. Then, we will determine the appropriate action to be taken,” he said.

Asked whether action taken would affect the party, he said: “We must not act hastily. But if we were to close our eyes to this act of sabotage, it is not right too. So, whatever we want to do, it must be wise and based on evidence, not on hearsay or baseless allegations.”

On the action to be taken against them, he said it depended on the seriousness of the offence. Previously, Umno members found guilty of contesting on Independent or opposition tickets were dismissed from the party for life.

On Abdullah’s statement that Najib sees himself as the PM’s successor, unlike Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim whom he said saw himself as the alternative

PM, Najib said he was grateful and touched with the trust and confidence Abdullah has in him.

This stand has been made known to me in closed-door meeting before, in front of a few civil servants. But this is the first time he said it openly. I appreciate it very much. I also consider his request for me to continue cooperating with him to strengthen the government administration in facing today’s challenges and carrying out reforms,” he added.

On former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s withdrawal of exclusive support for him to be the next PM, Najib refused to comment, saying everyone is entitled to his own opinion.

Umno vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said any disciplinary action taken against Umno members found to have sabotaged the party must be fair and based on facts and not hearsay. He said the party needed to gather evidence from the divisions concerned before the case was brought to the Umno Disciplinary Board.

Muhyiddin, who also heads the party's Constitution and Regulations Committee, said if proven right, the individual involved would be given the opportunity to show cause. "If there is proof of sabotage against the party, action must be taken as the individual's action had contributed to Umno's loss."

Is Political 'Sabotage' a sabotage?
My question is, is it an OFFENSE?
If one has the right to his/her vote,
then what sabotage are we talking about?

Only BN/UMNO can think of such terms!

So what really is sabotage?

Quick definitions (sabotage)

# noun: a deliberate act of destruction or disruption in which equipment is damaged
# verb: destroy property or hinder normal

Eg. A Mongolian model cum negotiator/translator who helps a certain Malaysian minister and his buddy businessman, comes to Malaysia to claim her commissions for the deal she helped put through. She was intercepted by the certain minister's men, dragged away and blown up to bits, with C4. NOW THIS IS CALLED SABOTAGE !

Are these Desperado's afraid of their members attempting to shift camps or those going to spill the beans to be defined as saboteurs? Best word to use is Betrayer or Treason for tomorrow's headlines.

I thought Bodowi said he knows about the sabotage. Now, Najis says it's only hearsay. As usual .. our PM told a lie. If not, the DPM is trying to undermine his credibility.

The problem with these bugerrs are that they cant differentiate between party duties and goverment duties. He thinks everbody is interested in their UMNO shit shit. Damn like when they travelled like lords in their goverment aircraft during election campaign doing private things. When the BA comes to power makwe sure u guys audit and charge them every single cent.

Are these acts of sabotage?
1.Immediately after AAB took over, there was a white paper on the police force, resulting in 125 recommendations that were aimed at reducing corruptions in the PDRM. Four years had came and gone, and the 125 recommendations are gathering dusts. AAB’s administration might have forgotten, but each time a crime occurs in the community, people are reminded about the failure to implement the 125 recommendations.
2.Ma Zhu’s fatwah, Bible confiscation, Mr Gan and M Moorthy’s dead bodies, Hindu temples – a huge section of Malaysia’ population had been ignored and offended. This was aggravated by the “little mullah”’s interpretation of Hadhari.
3.Smaller political parties in the BN, like PPP were told in no uncertain term, “We don’t need you.” Even a small party like PPP has followings.
4.Internets have been filled with pictures of the sleeping ministers. One picture might be suspected on sabotage but when they are too many, is that sabotage?
5.Parliament is the best place to see how BN parliamentarians treat the citizen. Words like “Bodoh…” and “Keluar..” “Bocor..” have been uttered and we would like to see how the administration reprimanded those responsible, or were those words tolerated and offenders protected?
6.ACA had cleared so many cases in Malaysia eg Port Klang “istana,” police corruption, etc. No one had ever been charged, except the small guys.
7.Personally I wasn’t happy that the last 50-year anniversary someone who has no contribution to the wellbeing of this nation was asked to raise the flag…. Why not someone who had contributed meaningfully, Nicol, present badminton players, etc. I wasn’t happy to see them fighting over the Malaysian flag with Space tourist as UMNO flag. Was it UMNO that came out with RM80m?

Are these acts of Sabotage, again I ask? There are so many events happening in the last 2 years, and if these events do not contribute to the BN’s shocked defeat in 5 states (6 including FT), then BN should stop bickering and whining.

If TDM was and is still an UMNO member, I wonder if his statement (before the GE) that there must be a strong opposition amounts to sabotage ?
