I would do the same too if I can transfer my Maxis number to DIGI. Or else it's hell of an inconvenience to inform all your friends of the new number. Thought this number transfer facility regardless of phone carrier was in the pipeline. Anyone knows if it's available yet?
Just look at how Anandakrishnan is ripping people off with Astro. We don't have a choice or rather the government is giving the monopolistic advantage to Ananda and I'm sure this sly old fox knows what to do in return.

Not the gov't is giving monopoly to Ananda - all these took place during Dr M's time, he allowed all these to happen: Maxis, Astro, 1 3D, Sports Toto, Pan-Msian Sweep - remember the good old days when we had Social Welfare Lottery tickets? Profits from Social Welfare went to help the less fortunate and now profits from lottery tickets will go to only a handful of people. In HK, profits from horse-racing, lotto draws goes to build schools, public hospitals, etc. meaning profits from gambling goes back to the masses. Why can't we have the same here? How can we have the same here? I tell you how, we need a change of gov't first.

yes - do not reward unscrupulous business captains who use preferential licensing (to stack the deck) to undermine, your political and economic rights, choices, options and opportunity.

Our regulatory bodies are either compromised or incentived to lock-in the elite or lock-out our options.

Tune your behavior to reward those who compete fairly - its our benefits, our expense-structure, at stake. Reward good behavior and punish the colluders.

Aiya, I already said many times before, TDM is the source and main cause of Rakyat's current misery. Abdullah only serves to perpetuate this heinous culture. What infuriates me most is to hear TDM literally "barking" everyday now. Send him to Hospital Bahagia la!

Yes I think everyone should boycott maxis. As for Astro, it has been providing substandard service to its clients. Even when reports are made, they Customer service do not bother to record it down, and when you call again they would tell you there is no record of your complain. I believe this is done on purpose so that in the event any data collection is done on complaints made, they can claim that their service is so good, no complaints have been made.

On top of that, they are now going to charge us for the guide book. Already we are paying a substantial amount for the services, should we not get the guide book free to know what programmes are being shown. Just because they added some stupid news about stars, they expect us to pay for the news which we can easily get for free from the net.

I think everyone should protest on astro. They are also being racist and recently came out with the most stupid rediculous idea of having the guide book in 3 different languages, ie english, malay and chinese, no tamil. If the programme guide for all channels are in every language, then its not so bad. But these idiots have now segregated the guide according to the language of the programme, whereby the english guide book only covers the english channels and tamils channels since there is no tamil guide book, the chinese guide book covers the chinese channels, the malay guide book only covers malay channels and the idiots have put the programme guide for ZeeTV which is a bollywood channel in the malay guide book as if only the malays watch bollywood programmes. Thus for those who subsribe to multiple language channels, they will only have the programme guide for 1 language depending on which language guide book we opts to receive. For those who subsribe to chinese and english channels, you can only get the guide for either one, and for the programmes of the other language, you have to keep checking on the TV what is playing. Isnt this rediculous. The also force us to subscribe to the guide book, thus when the free period is over, they can convenietly charge for this. Astro needs to revamp their staff and get rid of all these incompetant idiots who have no idea what they are doing.

The goverment have given them a free hand to do as they please and that is why the service is like shit including the customer service.

Maybe we should all also do a mass cancellation off astro account and insist on certain conditions before we subsribe to it to ensure that the rakyat is not shortchanged.

The Thai Govt legalised 4-Digit, 3-Digit gamblings. Now mafia cannot use
runners to collect monies for such gamblings as it's legalised. The earnings from the legalised gamblings is used to subsidise public hospitals and clinics. All Thai citizens and permanent residents (NOTEsmilies/tongue.gifERMANENT RESIDENTS TOO) only pay 30 Bhats (equivalent to RM3.00) for each visit to public hospitals and clinics. This was introduced by former PM Takshin Shinawatra.

So what's next, boycott Air Asia because Tony Fernandes was campaigning for BN. Sorry mates, not everyone can fly. Maybe we should also boycott Siti Nurhaliza & Erra Fariza I THINK I spotted them campaigning for BN. Maybe we should boycott Sheila Majid. Someone MIGHT have spotted Rosmah at her spa.
What about boycotting The Sun since it's now owned by Son of Satan's good friend, Vincent Tan. Sorry Terrence & Citizen Nades, someone HEARD Vincent Tan donated lots of money to BN.

Ive read most of these comments and can understand why but on the other hand how do you educate corporate orgs from not becoming cronies when you have a bunch of idiots running the gment and actually expecting corporate orgs to 'feed' them and be at their 'beck and call'? Its the culture of cronism and bribing we need to concentrate on instead of boycotting this org and that. Imagine the no of employees employed in these orgs, tak kan you want assume they are on the idiots side kan? If boycott works and all these people lose their jobs then how? Im sure 95% of the larger corporate co's are in these idiots pockets...we need to start educating them then just boycotting their product. smilies/wink.gif

Yup astro channels seems to be racist (the malay, chinese & indian channel bit) but I doubt if that's the intention. It has its pro's and con's also. I still think its the best pay tv around and I love the varied choices that it gives its customers. If boycott really jadi, I would hate losing my astro.

No, no I'm not taking sides...I voted for the opposition too! smilies/smiley.gif

Going against this companies will not do us any good, because I'm pretty sure they are being forced to contribute to BN before they get the permits approved for them to continue running the business in this country.

We, Malaysians have taken the first step to fix this, and we did exactly that in recent general election.

Maxis maybe the 800 pound gorilla in Malaysia mobile market now, but once we switch service, a new 800 pound gorilla will be created, and BN will look at the new company to get the $$$s. The problem will simply move from one company to another, switching service is not a solution.

Put in the right government, and this problems will solve itself.
