PETALING JAYA: There will be no Deputy Selangor Mentri Besar post under a revised executive council (exco) distribution formula that will see DAP’s allocation reduced from four to three.

One of the three DAP exco members would be appointed senior exco member tasked with overseeing investments.

Under the original 6+4 formula, PKR and PAS are to share six seats with the DAP getting four.

With the revised one, party sources said the distribution would either be 4+3+3 (PKR/PAS/DAP respectively) or 5+2+3.

It is understood, that if the senior exco member suggestion materialises, the position would go to Kinrara assemblyman Teresa Kok whom the DAP had endorsed to be Deputy Mentri Besar.

While reasons for the last-minute redistribution of exco seats were unclear, The Star learnt that top leaders of the three parties were engaged in intense negotiations, right up to dawn, in the past few days.

The deadline for the swearing-in of the exco is Monday.

Of the other two DAP exco members, one would go to Ronnie Liu (Pandamaran) and the other, a toss up between Selangor DAP chairman Ean Yong Hian Wah (Seri Kembangan) and former state opposition leader Teng Chang Khim (Sungai Pinang).

The three parties won 36 seats to form the new government, with Barisan Nasional getting 20 in the general election. - STAR

It is disappointing news why the Sultan disapproved or disallowed the appointment of Deputy MB! Democratic is in question here. I support her as MB, Teresa Kok is an iron lady. smilies/angry.gif

I think all parties have to work within the available space for the time being. Being democratic or not is not the question. Lets have all the necessary machinery in place first, and deliver what the rakyat was promised.
Demicracy is a process, and it will take probably one of two terms more for the state to change to reflect any kind of democracy that we might wish.

So
Please be patient, and just get thing done. If everything is done as planned, the rakyat will give you better mandate next time.
Then you might be in the position to make more changes.

Another report by The New Strait Times says that the Selangor Palace does not favour a non-muslim majority exco.

After 50 years, Malaysians and the opposition parties are attempting to cross beyond racial lines, which is not in the first place prohibited by the Selangor State Constitution, yet the royal guardian of the Constitution remains conservative. A disappointment indeed. smilies/sad.gif

Its a political reality that while we are seeing light at end of tunnel for multiracism, we will still have to tip toe sensitively as changes cannot be forced thru overnight. If this formulae comes true ie 4:3:3, it is a positive march towards cooperation and good sense. It also demonstrate that DAP has come of age. Lets pull down the hatches after this and get down to work.
Syabas BR and Daulat Tuanku!

Rome was not built in a day. It took 50 years to get rid of UMNO. SO be patient and one of this day there will be no racial base politics.

dudes who scream 'daulat tuanku' without reason are slaves forever, shackled with a subservient mentality. A monarchy which is prejudiced, racially biased and does not put the people's welfare at top priority has no mandate

What are you trying to tell us? That you still believe what is written in the MSM?

Frankly, even if the statement actually came from the palace, unless I hear it from HRH himself, I would prefer to suspend belief. The palace staff is riddled with BN hardcore supporters.

Let us avoid statements that unnecessarily cloud judgement.
