Tun Dr. Mahathir urged for ‘leadership cleansing’

Former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad urged the rakyat to use their votes wisely and elect people who are fit the lead the Government and rakyat.

“Consider your votes for leaders who are not ‘deadwood’ and corrupt, as the party failed to ‘cleanse’ itself from these sort of people”. He said this in the media conference after the launching of “Dr. Mahathir’s selected letters to world leaders”, a book compiled and authored by former Malaysian Ambassador to the UN and NSTP Chairman Tan Sri Abdullah Ahmad.

He added the changes are required to be made as political parties failed to make the necessary changes within and did not manage to the “cleansing”, to stay relevant for the rakyat. This is a landmark call made by the former UMNO President and BN Chairman of 22 years and it contradicts his last year’s 10 February call in Johor Bahru, “For UMNO to not fear pre-matured leadership changes”.

When asked about how UMNO will react to this, Tun Dr. Mahathir was seen today as explicitly expressing his displeasure of the morbid “Yesman” mentality of the UMNO leadership, middle level management and some members resorted to, since he left the office. In his own words, “Corrections required!”.

“Orang Melayu sokong parti, tak kira calon”

However, he did also say that he BN should win and continue to lead country, as it has been the past fifty years. His reservations clearly demonstrated that he was gravely unhappy on the fact that some leaders use the mandate the rakyat gave to BN, especially UMNO, as a self-fulfilling endorsement for some leaders to trump up their own beating drums and blow their horns, where else in actual fact, these leaders are worthy to be considered as “deadwoods”.

Hello, my friends !
Dr.M is NOT what you think he is - so concerned about the rakyat. His Govt and UMNO BARU ( remember OLD UMNO has been DEREGISTERED !) is the LIVING testimony of ULTIMATE CORRUPTION AND EVERYTHING BAD ABOUT A GOVERNMENT ! This he left to Badawi.
Friends, read IN-BETWEEN the lines. He is angry with them because those who used to follow him has been DIVERTED from UMNO's ORIGINAL struggle - KETUANAN BAMGSA MELAYU - MALAY DOMINANCE. He is a ***** (sorry, no offence meant to Indian Muslims). His ma cai are NOW more concerned with MAKING MONEY more than anything else !

Whilst what TDM says is true, I suppose he should by now also regret the fact that this is the system he created. And the jury is still out there whether TDM is upset because his legacy is being dismantled, or Badawi is clearly trespassing into the cari makan territory of his cronies, and he prefers Najib in power. Whatever it is, it looks to me like another UMNO struggle, in which non-Malay Muslims are suffering the brunt of. It's reason enough to vote UMNO out of power.

It matters not if they are BN supporters but will heed DR M advice to rid the BN of corruot and deadwood leaders. It will then make the hope of denying BN a 2/3 majority brighter!!

Mahathir a CHANGE man . After being technically dead on two occassions one do change in mentality and in personality .When I mean technically dead , it meant when you go for a by pass operation , your heart stops functioning , dead , you are kept alive by all the equipments in the operating room . When you are revived and your heart starts functioning again it is deem you are a new man or new life hence it does affects peoples way of thinking . Hopefully it is for the better .

TDM has gone senile ! He brought in all these dead wood, who now refuse to budge ! Remember, TDM was in power for 22 years. All the problems faced by the country, including those caused by the dead wood, the arrogant, the ignorant, the corrupted, the sleepy head etc. were his choices. As he himself said, the final decision is his, and his only !

Actually, BN got the overwhelming mandate when Badawi promised to get rid of all the above. Now the people are disillusioned.

What is TDM talking about getting rid of dead wood and people overstaying their hospitality !! He forgot he overstayed for 22 years and then, he left Badawi and the dead wood for us to swallow ! What a bitter pill !!

Rakyat Malaysia. Don't forget your undeniable right to vote your choice. You are smart enough to make your choice. Don't listen to these " medicine peddelars " !

Mahathir is only partially right. If people were to use their votes wisely, then there is no one left in our current cabinet. In fact some of the MPs and State assembly men and women also have to go.Competency is the trait required to manage this country, integrity is the second trait required to ensure citizens are well taken care of regardless of race.

If Mahathir is sincere about what he preached,we have to vote Opposition because Oppositions are yet to prove they are as incompetent and corrupt as the BN.

to vote who, they have to think deeper...
are they willing to treat others so call non-bumis (humanbeing) as one, malaysian, or still prefer to be above all!
but sadly, most bumis have been brainwash since young! even malaysia history have been manipulate many times. hopefully they're mature enough to think deeper, for what is right, and what is wrong! earth is for every living things!
